Summary: Fascinating, just wish Redfield could write!
Review: Am I the only one who screamed at the author the entire time I was reading this book? His ideas were great, but someone should teach him how to write! A horrible story teller, an even WORSE writer of dialogue. Especially painful was reading the words of the one priest who supposedly spoke only a little English. He couldn't think of the English word for "savor", yet, within a paragraph or two..was suddenly fluent with philosophical terms. Am I also the only one who noticed that all his characters were o

Summary: sophisticatingly mesmerizing
Review: This book will hold you to your seat for hours on end, to disagree is to live in a life of drivel and be stuck in the past, refusing to venture into the next millenium. The life changing events can only enhance life and make the world a more beautiful place.

Summary: The Celestine Prophecy, is a book for anyone.
Review: This book, The Celestine Prophecy, in effect changed my life. It's ring of truthfulness and devotion to a subject that is often difficult to address is captivating and admirable. Your Life too may be changed by the dynamic ideas that this novel presents.

Summary: Is it mere coincidence you found this book?
Review: An easy read that sends chills up your spine every other page! Buy the hardback; you'll be loaning this one to dozens of friends.

Summary: An unbelievably empty and foolish book
Review: We should consider a negative scale, just for crappy, pseudo-intellectual/cultural/philosophical books of this kind.

Review: 'The Celestine Prophecy' is really idiotic, I feel quite sorryfor the man who translated it into Chinese. Chinese translation ofthis book has sold thousands of copies in Taiwan but, to my relief, didn't get in local 'bestsellers' list. Hope that I won't see the Chinese translation of 'The Tenth Insight.'

Summary: Stupid
Review: This is probably the most stupid and boring book I have ever read. The only reason I continued with it was that I had paid good money for it. I will now try to resell it or, perhaps, just give it away, probably with a warning label attached only because I don't want it cluttering up my bookshelf. The writing style itself was quite amateurish and dull. Is this what "New Age" is all about? I agree with the review that mentioned Ecco's book. Although I have not read that yet I have read a few of his and they are truly deep and mystical. But The Celestine Prophecy is better than Somminex

Summary: BULLSHIT!!!!
Review: It is the worst book I have ever red in my whole life.It should be titled THE CELESTINE NIGHTMARE, some nights I found myself not wanting to go to bed to avoid reading it.There is nothing new in the whole text and as a reminder to the author Philosophy was born in Greece (Europe) in VI b.c. I am still trying to figure out how come it could become a bestseller in the U.S. I can only think of educational level, culture, and movies like Independence Day... COME ON! if you are looking for Philosophy then read SOPHIE'S WORLD by J.Gaarder he's from Norway (Europe, again). THIS BOOK IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PUT UP!!

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: "The Celestine Prophecy" holds you in suspense from the beginning to the end. You ask yourself over and over, "Is this real...is this book fact or fiction". From the very beginning I had a deep urge to head straight to Peru so I could search for the insights too. I realized by the time I finished this masterpiece, that there are no written insights to find...it is all within each and every one of us. The exciting thing is that if mankind would listen to their inner selves and apply these insights to their own lives, we would live in an entirely different world. A world where peace, love, compassion and understanding reigns.
