Rating: Summary: Love It! Review: I Love This Book. The First Book I Read On The Craft. Read It
Rating: Summary: Too much! Review: Even for those who are very experienced, this book can be overwhelming. It provides a wealth of knowledge (which is not exactly a bad thing), however, I feel that there is far more information than the typical reader will want to deal with. This can make for a very difficult read. On the other hand, If you're looking for a Gardnerian/Alexandrian-specific book with more information than you'll every really need, you have to get this book.

Rating: Summary: don't bother. Review: this book concentrates too much on history, and uses too big of words. they explain everything in a long and complicated way that makes no sense at all. don't buy it!
Rating: Summary: In regards to The first comment Review: I'd like to Add that there is nothing misleading about the title"the Witches Bible"The word "bible" means "book" in Latin.Just Wanted to correct That.
Rating: Summary: informative, albeit dated and organizationally lazy Review: First off, this is *not* a Bible. Picking that title was misleading. It is, however, a useful collection of rituals and social discussion, with appendices, glossary and notes. All this, however, could have been much better; it's really two books bound together. Therefore, you have two indexes, two sets of page numbering, and so forth. Why in the name of Hades a little effort wasn't put into the integration of the two books mystifies me; it has a sense of having been republished as a single volume mainly because no one would have to do any real work. The only other serious flaw is that they take _The White Goddess_ as some form of gospel. Looks pretty silly when Robert Graves, the author of _TWG_, has apologized for many of the blithe assertions therein. Useful if read critically, and less annoying than most books on Wicca. Too bad a little more effort wasn't put into some editorial basics.
Rating: Summary: Wow! : } Review: This book has sat on my shelf for years, I've skimmed it and only just got around to reading it cover to cover recently. I am not Gardnerian or Alexandrian, but the info in this book is important for all, even me, the solitary. It is a bit hard to follow in some places, but I liked it anyway. I would say for anybody to read it, certainly, I just wouldn't let less open-minded people get too good a view of the cover or the pictures inside. : } Blessed Be, all!
Rating: Summary: I LOVE this book! Review: As many have said earlier, this book is not for beginners. However, for the Witch who has practiced a few years, it's a huge asset to your bookshelf! The authors can get a bit "wordy" in places, but it still has TONS of information. It's not really a "how-to" book or a spellbook, but it does delve into the historical aspects of Witchcraft which so many of the newer books forget. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to any Witch/Wiccan, even beginners. While beginners probably won't understand all of it, even they will benefit from the in depth explanation of sabbaths and other topics.
Rating: Summary: A good reference for Gardnerian/Alexandrian Wicca Review: While this book does not live up to it's title it is certainly one of the foremost references for those interested in the practices of a Gardnerian/Alexandrian coven. While somewhat dated in it's concepts it is still a useful resource for rituals and information on the Sabbats. Not a book for solitary practitioners and certainly not for beginners this book nonetheless deserves a place on the shelf of anyone who has a serious interest in Wicca.
