Summary: Read with care
Review: I have always found self-help books wishy-washy and self-absorbed, but this book touched me. I am a mere amatuer as compared to some of the people who have posted here, I've only worn out one copy and am looking for a second, but since I'm only 18 I guess I'm off to a good start. The book is not about selling, but about guiding pricipals to success. I must confess i did not follow the books instructions, I merely reread the entire thing as often as I have time. There is a quote from it in my college essay, maybe I'll get lucky and get someone who's read it before. I would recommend it to anyone, fast-food worker to CEO.

Summary: I was not motivated at all.
Review: I bought this book the same reason that I bought Think and grow rich by Napoleon Hill. It was reccommended in all my other financial and self motivational books. I was very disapointed. It is a story of perserveering, giving to charity, thinking positive. It set in biblical times which made it a hard and boring read for me.

Summary: The Greatest Salesman in the World
Review: This book is the most inspiring book that I have ever read! The principles mentioned in this book have changed my life drastically. I have personally owned six copies of this book (which I have worn out from having read them so much) over the past 20 years of my life and have given many others as gifts. This book doesn't just teach how to be successful as a salesperson, it teachs how to be successful at life, in every endeavor. This book is a must read!

Summary: The Greatest Book in the World!
Review: I have read this book several times and it just gets better. If you like the mystical, the spiritual, or just need to be uplifted this is the book for you. As you follow the adventures in the life of Hafid, you too will learn the art of self acceptance and living life to it's fullest. You will lean, as he did, that life is what you make of it. You will find yourself taking the lessons of the 10 scrolls and joyfully incorporating them into your life. I just can't express how beautiful and motivating this little book is. When you add to it the fact that it is also a wonderful story, well what more could you want in any book?

Summary: My 50th copy
Review: In the world of selling, there are hundreds of "how to" books, but I have yet to find one that is as impressive as Og Mandino's "Greatest Salesman in the World". The concepts set forth in this book will absolutely make the difference in any salesperson who will attempt to follow them. I have been in the real estate business for 22 years and this book is the only required reading for each of my agents. I just purchased my 50th copy!

Summary: Very much based on mythology with spirituality
Review: This book is not for everyone, its not a guide to selling as it is more a guide to achieving greater happyness in life. It is a good book for positive affirmations, but for somebody who wants to learn the true art of selling they should read this book along with Brian Tracy's books on selling & PMA. The Greatest Salesman in the World is very much a books based on spirituality & it requires each chapter to be read 3 times a day for 30 days which can be time consuming and a bit boring. I personally think that "The Magic of Thinking Big" and "How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling" offer the reader a much greater degree of knowledge. is a better book along with

Summary: So simple, and yet ...
Review: This, I believe is a beautiful, and haunting tale of how to receive, by giving, so that you can receive, and give again, and on, and on, and on. Oh, that I could manifest these principles in my life... A book that allows us a glimpse of the mystery, and wonder of our universe ... the circle that turns, and turns, yet never ends. A must read for all.

Summary: You should give it a try
Review: I suggest to anyone, even if you are not in sales, to read this book. I also suggest that you read it the way it says. What that book teaches, everyone should know.

Summary: Messages for life
Review: It was some 6 years back (ie in 1994) when someone suggested me 'Og Mandino'. I was not "familiar" with his name that time. But recently in the positivepress website, one friend suggested this book. I bought it immediately. I finished the book in one hour. I was really impressed by his style. The messages in the scrolls are positive affirmations which should be read in silence everyday. The message in Scroll 3 makes me more confident. This is the first book of Og Mandino I am reading, though I have read many self-help books.

Like a golf ball needs a hit to move, this book is necessary for everyone to be dynamic.

I see my days are changing to my favor. I promise this book could do magic in your life too.

I suggest one should carry this book always; it is more than a moral boost.

I repeat, read repeatedly the scroll 3 - your blood will be new. In all, this book is a life message.

I never read stories/novels. But this book has a unique way of imparting messages spun around a story of a salesman.

Summary: Bought Skeptically.
Review: Many years ago, a friend asked if I had ever read anything by Og Mandino? I said no, and I didn't think I would ever want to since I generally distrusted her taste in literature. A couple of years later, I was living in a small town and out of books to read. One afternoon I worked my way along the single aisle of books in the town's only department store and saw this title. Nothing else stood out, and I did remember the name Og Mandino. How could such a name be forgotten? I said "what the heck" and bought a copy. To my surprise, I discovered a gold mine. The style of "The Greatest Salesman in the World" is simple, poignantly simple. The story of the man learning the principles of becoming a great salesman completely sucked me in, and I'm not even a salesman, and even though I am not a salesman, there was still much to be gained from this jewel of a book. The story moves at a fast pace and holds the attention of the reader like a vice-grip. If you are able to read it in parts, you are an exception. This one is a page turner you just can't put down. I'm a Mandino fan now. If you like Mandino, be sure and read "Castle of Wisdom" by Rhett Ellis. Ellis and Mandino write with a similar and utterly gripping style.
