Summary: God is the Universe and she does love us...
Review: Please do not go by Sirene from Texas's review. She TOTALLY missed the message of Neale Donald Walsh. He absolutly says that God loves us and wants the best for us-but we are to hard on ourselves with societies right and wrongs-decided by who? As far as Heaven-Heaven can be right here, right now, if we choose it to be. Even the Pope was quoted as saying that there is no Hell, and any suffering, is caused by man's own mind (look it up). NDW also stresses that we are all ONE. A collective conscience, universal thought. If we all don't start loving each other WITH our differences, there will be many more wars, natural disaters, and human suffering throughout the world. Accept ourselves and our neighbors as brothers and sisters and imagine the Heaven on Earth for all. Spread the beautiful word.

Review: My sister recommended this book to me many years ago - I wasn't particularly interested at the time, because I was not a Christian. I've recently returned to my Christian faith, however, and I saw this book in Barnes & Noble today, and thought, "Hm... well, she did say it was good, and it does look interesting..." So I purchased it. I will say this, it is very interesting. Or at least, I found it to be. Had I had the chance, I would have read the entire book in one sitting. And it did make me think and consider some things. Overall, I'm still glad I read it. However, I can not agree with Mr. Walsch in his viewpoints - nor do I believe that these are actually words of God.

Let me say right now, I'm not a conservative. In fact, many Christians would even consider me to be too liberal in my views. But this book is just completely "out there". It is certainly not a Christian book. I wondered why I found it under the "New Age" section instead of the "Religion" section - now it's completely clear to me why.

In this book, there is no Satan and there is no Hell. In fact, there isn't even really a Heaven. Heaven is a "state of mind". God does not care about us or what we do one way or the other. God does not believe in "right" or "wrong" at all - in fact, basically, he says we're free to do whatever we want. It's all right as long as it feels right to us. Sin does not exist. At this point, I was like, "Woah, hold it. Sin doesn't exist? Jesus died on the cross for the purpose of saving us from our sins. If sin doesn't exist, what does that say of his sacrifice?" And it just kept getting more and more far-fetched.

There are SO many messages in this book that entirely oppose the Bible. I'm not really one of those that blindly believe every word of the Bible as absolute Truth - I believe that quite a bit of the Bible was influenced by the prejudices and narrow-minded views of its authors. (While it might be God-inspired, the Bible was still written by men.) But there are some core principles in the Bible that must be accepted as "truths" if you are to be a true Christian. For example, this book states that God has absolutely no power to control the happenings of this world. It also says that humans are Gods. Even a non-believer would probably notice something a bit "off" about these statements, wouldn't you think? The "God" in this book says that Christians who believe in the God of the Bible believe in "a lesser" God than he truly is. Well, personally, I believe this book makes him out to be a much lesser God than he is.

The God I know actually does care about me and wants the best for me. He does care about the outcome. He does have the power to answer prayer, and those who ask of Him will receive. (Perhaps not always in the way we hope or think, but He does answer us and always have our best interests at heart.) He does have the power to control the happenings of this world, and He does. To Him, there is a right and a wrong, and He would surely tell you that not all paths lead to Him. In this book, all paths do lead to Him - so, supposedly, even the paths of those who have never known Him will lead to him. Even the paths of those who despise Him and work against His will. But the Bible clearly states that Jesus is the only path to Him.

I have also known Satan - quite well, in fact. I was involved in witchcraft for many years - and although I did not knowingly worship him, I finally realized that that was in fact what I was doing. When I was a witch, I attempted to contact my "spirit guide" (which is something fairly common in some practices of witchcraft), and instead, I got in touch with something very different entirely. I know firsthand what being completely under the deception of Satan is like. And what he does first is gain your trust by telling you the things you want to hear - by telling you things that seem right and good to you, but are in fact harmful to you. He is very much a master of deception and manipulation, and he often does it in subtle ways... in ways we would never expect.

Please, if you are considering reading this book, be cautious. I truly believe that, despite the fact that the author may have had good intentions in writing it, this is a dangerous book. When I began reading, it seemed a bit on the eccentric side, but still acceptable. But as I got further into the book, I recognized that voice, and it is not the voice of God. The voice of this book is Satan. The words are reminiscent of the words he used to deceive me and pull me even further away from God than I already was. The words might seem full of wisdom and love, but they are laced with deceit and cruel intent. I believe that there are many helpful and insightful books on Christianity aside from the Bible (although the Bible is certainly the most authorative source), but this is absolutely not one of them. I do not recommend this book to anyone.

Summary: An Enduring Classic
Review: I recently read Neale's newest book, Tomorrow's God, and found it as inspiring as this first book in the Conversations With God series. And as authentic and in touch. I still refer back to Conversations With God, Book 1, for many areas of my life; the relationships chapter, chapter 8, was particularly challenging to me at first; I hated it, yet now, many years later, I realize how wise it is. If you can master this material, or even come close, you have come a long way on your human journey. This is one of those books that, if I had to choose 10 to take to a desert island, would be top of the list. It's simply THAT powerful, and transformative!

Summary: Disguised, repackaged Satanism
Review: People, this book is just old Satanism, repackaged for today. Don't take my word for it, google and read up on Aleister Crowley, the Satanist's credo: "Do what thou Wilt shall be the Whole of the Law", etc., all the same old ideas, you'll soon see that it is the ancient one, the "Light-Bearer", who's speaking to Neale, saying the same old things again, fooling an entirely new generation...

Summary: The reality of God
Review: If you enjoyed this book, read "Illusions" or "Jonathan Livingston Seagull", both by author Richard Bach.

My recommendations, as well as this book "Conversations with God" all reflect my perception of the true voice of God. A God who wishes us happy and peaceful.

Summary: God is the Anti-Christ?
Review: So, to read the negative reviews, we are led to believe this book stands against the Bible, as opposed to one written for a people 2000 years more mature than those for whom the original work was written. 2000 years. Can anyone tell me they have not witnessed change in the past 50 years? 20 years? Has mankind not changed in 2000?

Like it or not, the Holy Bible has been wholly filtered to us after many iterations. There are stories of Jesus that are MISSING in the bible, because the Roman Catholic church deemed them inappropriate, or inconsistent with the message that they NEEDED people to believe (such is the nature of power that they would "protect" us from "uncertainty.")

If you read the WHOLE book, you would know that the 10 "commandments" stand as they ALWAYS have. If our purpose is to understand God, then we will purposefully live and gravitate to a more Godly life. The atrocities we perform today obviously do NOT lead us to a more Godly life. If you actually read the book - and not skim it over like some sheep afraid a wolf is going to rob you of your Faith - you might see that this book is written for You!

If God is the Alpha and the Omega, and if before there was anything, there was God, then God is nothing, and He is everything. If He is both nothing and everything - a concept impossible for our minds to resolve - but if it is accepted on Faith, then it is easy enough to conclude that anything, everything, and nothing that you know, is God. Therefore, how can it be concluded that He, the omnipotent, the omniscient, the omnipresent, is NOT inherently EVERYTHING. You and I? God IS Us. Jesus!

Now, this is the blasphemy that everyone freaks out about. But it is also stating the obvious. If you believe that God is the Beginning and the End, and that he is the Divine creator, then there is no other truth.

Christians. Jesus Christ, in the new covenant, emphasized the importance of not judging your fellow man. And yet, we see Christians amongst the most judgmental of all people. This comes in part of a superiority complex borne of Faith in Jesus that their way is the Right way - the ONLY Right way.

So, let me understand - God creates everything, including man - and man is his favorite creation borne of God's own image. Now, God has no image we understand, so what does this mean? "In My Image." Could it not mean - "with My innate ability to create"?

And lo - we see man, in all its broad forms, in a state of constant creation, above all other creatures - from unspoken thought, to language, to buildings, he is in constant creation. And over time, we see that the different clans of man evolved different thoughts, different languages, different RELIGIONS. And of all things that divide people, it is religion that does so most successfully. And yet, we are ALL God's creation. So HOW is it, that RELIGION divides us the MOST poignantly? And WHY is it that God grants only Christians with the Holy Knowledge of the Lord?

Yes people, God is the Alpha and the Omega. He is Nothing and He is Everything. God IS the Anti-Christ. This is not to say he is "evil" - it is to say He is not just MOST things. He is ALL things.

Welcome to the world of the relative. It is YOUR responsibility to live your life as God would, not some pious religious leader's. And you do this for Yourself, God.

Use your brains, minds, and hearts and THINK FOR YOURSELVES. It's what God gave them for - it'd be a shame to waste this most precious gift from God.

Summary: Two thumbs up!
Review: It's too bad that people, giving the negative reviews here, quote the bible only to suit their own, short-sighted views.
Do you really believe that God is so malevolent as to cast his own children, his own creations, into hell for all of eternity?

The Bible clearly states that we are one in God. How much more clear do you need to see it?

Summary: A wonderful book and series
Review: Your opinion of this book will basically be what you want it to be. If you are loyal to the bible and believe anything said that contradicts the bible is of "the devil" then obviously you should not pick up this book because you will no be wanting to challenge your faith. You will spend most of your time trying to find what you disagree about rather than paying attention to the information that you agree about.

However, those who are looking to know more about the God that some believe resides in all of us, would be encouraged to pick up this series.

The people that may want to believe Neale wrote the entire book by himself need to take a closer look at the clairity and logic behind each of the answers given to all of his questions. I personally do not believe Neale is clever enough to come up with the responses given in the book. There is perfection in the answers and a clairity that i cannot find in any other work that i have come across in the past.

Remember however, that any book only proves that it was written and nothing else. No one can prove that the information in any book is from any other source than the writer themself. I implore you to attempt to prove it, since it cannot be done. Therefore you have to look at the actual information in the book and compare it to what you already know, and look inside yourself to find your answer.

God still talks to us, every single one of us. The question is, who listens?

Summary: You will Know if this book holds truth for you....
Review: ...or not--just pick it up. It's worth a shot.

I personally was more than ready for the message in its pages. I was raised in a strict Christian home. My entire life I felt different from my family. What I was being taught just didn't add up to me. I lived my life in fear of a hell that I couldn't make myself believe in. I have been angry and depressed my whole life.

About a year ago I picked up CWG browsing a bookstore after a friend had mentioned it to me as an interesting read. I could not put it down, and have not put the series down since--no matter how many times I re read them I doubt I will ever stop.

I felt I had ANSWERS. FINALLY. 22 years of agonizing and searching and all of a sudden 'the way things are' started making sense! My life has been changing dramatically for the best ever since. I feel at peace. I am able to dissolve fear. I am learning to create my life instead of letting it run me over. I have no doubts. I believe that 'God', 'All That Is/Is not' is speaking to those who are ready to hear through these books.

Neale Walsch may have been an ass in person, but that doesn't mean he wasn't used. Since reading these books I am learning to recognize 'God's' 'voice' everywhere.

I gave it to my mom to read and she freaked out and called it blasphemy. She tells me continually that I'm going to Hell and how sad she is. I tell her calmly that there is no Hell or Satan and that she will see. I understand that she is stuck in her beliefs with no room for growth, as are many, and also that eventually she will remember the truth, as we all do.

Don't let the negative reviews get to you. If you feel pulled to this book, read it.
