Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT BOOKS......makes alot os sense! Review: These books are excellent...whether or not they are really conversations with God or not, they explain so much about how our universe works in a way that actually makes sense! I feel this is a more accurate view of what our forgiving, loving God is really like; not an enitity to be feared as conventional religion would have us believe!
Rating: Summary: Spiritual Review: It's seems to be that anything beyond the Bible is a bit off to some critics. God did not write the Bible, man did under the supervision of man's critical theories. The bottom line is that anything that mankind has his hand into will be done through his ignorance..by his discovery to only report part of the truth. Religions are detroying their purpose through their motives toward the materialistics of the world, and their hypocritical behavior. God did not place a price amongst His sacred given messages, nor did He with His Son Jesus. God will continue to give His messages through these writer's, and hopefully these messages will become the way for His lost people to recover their faith back to our loving Creator God. A shallow mind is very unhealthy, yet one must be careful of false prophecy. I recommend (Celestine Prophecy--The Third Time Is Now. You need an open mind for these books. It's impossible to celebrate a 15' by 20' idea with a 2" by 4"...I love this line..it makes a person think..and that is what one must do before making critical remarks...
Rating: Summary: fantastic - It has changed my life Review: It has nothing to do with religion. It doesnt tell you what you should or should not do. There are no dos or donts. It is the first book that has answered all of my questions fully and without any contradictions
Rating: Summary: If you believe in thinking, try reading this book Review: Conversations with God is not a book for everyone. Be prepared to have the rickety, unsteady, fragile reality you live in shaken up a bit. Parts of it are amazingly beautiful and loving. Others a bit more like constructive criticism. And there are still other parts that plain piss you off. But it forces you out of your comfort zone. It forces you to actually look at your decisions, look at your pathetic life, look at the mess your in - the festering cespool of unhappiness - and think HEY! MAYBE THIS IS MY FAULT! MAYBE IF I CHANGED MY CLOSED MINDED OUTLOOK, THINGS WOULD BE BETTER! It's not a book for holier-than-thou people. It's not a book for the whining victims of the world. It's a book for people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired and just need to hear it uncensored, unpolitically correct, and honest. The condition of the world sucks people, and it's not getting any better. So you can either sit around and hate your life or you can stop judging, and start doing something. God wants to know, what's it gonna be?
Rating: Summary: A life changing experience Review: Walsch has written a book for not only people who wonder and want to know MORE, but a dialog for those who do not wonder. The questions of our everyday life seems to appear more and more and we can't shoo it off. Even if we do or do not decide to believe that Walsch is having a conversation with GOD, the point is that the book answers A LOT of questions. I know for me, it made me stop, and look at life a little different. I always have questions about religion and GOD, and once I was introduced to this book, I had a new way of looking at things and got answers. Sometimes I think we as people forget that life isn't made to be easy and that it is OKAY to question. I hope with my heart that the reader(s) of this book keep an open mind and truely do look at it as a new opportunity to come closer to GOD and maybe find a new person in themself. Keep an open mind and talk to someone about your experiences. Good Luck!

You're headed for the ride of your life!!!

Rating: Summary: Sometimes, the Truth is Simple. Review: I have to smile at all the God-fearing Christians who have reviewed this book. If one prefers to think of God as a fire-breathing, hateful, controlling monster who desires obedience over love and wishes to test us to within an inch of our lives, then certainly skip this book. However, if one prefers to use one's brain, then the philosophical and moral conflicts of the Bible are too much to accept. The Bible may be an accurate historical document (archaeology bears this out quite often), but it is not an accurate spiritual document. If one reads the philosophy of Buber or Locke or the psychlogical works of Maslow, it becomes quite evident to a modern perspective that the Hebrews who wrote the Old Testament were functioning at a fear level of thought (that is to say, all actions were motivated by fear, not love or even self-interest), and their attempts to personify God (who they defined as perfect, though perfection is by it's very nature something beyond definition) were attempts to render the incomprehensible into something understood, despite the low comprehension levels of most people at that time. Hence the brutal God/Allah/Yahwe who appears in the Bible, the Koran, and the Torah and is characterized as loving one group better than another, depending upon whose sacred book one is reading, even though their God is supposed to be perfect and perfection would not play favorites. People who cling to this version of God do so at the cost of logic or love, simply because they are comfortable in their self-righteousness. This book is God talking. God loves us, despite what we think of ourselves or each other. He/She will not punish or forsake us no matter how much we think we deserve it. Admit that so you may live and love one another. The truth shall make you free.
Rating: Summary: a magnificent opus Review: the most accessible and personally relevant book on spirituality i"ve ever encountered.
Rating: Summary: Does it matter if it's truly God? Review: I have read many people's opinions here both good and bad. In truth, it matters not wether the conversations were with God or whoever. The message in no way contradicts the message Jesus gives in the Bible, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. This book is excellent and will help many people understand in their own language what the Bible can never explain. Religions have perverted the messages in order to protect their institutions, and that is why so many flock to this book and many others whose message isn't necessarily the most positive one. Someone in another review mentioned Satan and how the Bible says that God created an Angel that fell and became the devil and source of pure evil. Has this person stopped to think that he just said God created evil. By this same line of thought, then he created hell, and being Omniprescent as the Bible and all religions say he is, then he is present in hell as well, by definition alone. Then God is the root of all evil as well as the root of all that is good. Think about that one. You say that you should follow the message of Jesus, then why are you so quick to judge and destroy your neighbor, who has done you no harm, who is but trying to understand his life and help others understand theirs in a loving and positive way? Love God and love thy neighbor as you love thyself. It was that simple then, it's that simple now. Once again, this is an excellent book, and I recommend it 100%. Even if you don't believe the conversation, the insight and logical truth behind it is well worth the money. Forget your religious institutions for two seconds, and try to look at the message of love and hope behind it. Happy Reading.
