Rating: Summary: A must read for the earnest seeker. Review: Amazing. At last comes a book that spells out in clear language and without contradiction, the nature of physical "reality" in relation God and the soul, and the meaning/purpose of our existence here. After having read the Dhammapada, the Diamond Sutra, the Sutra of Hui Neng, the Vimalikirti Nirdesa Sutra, the Bhagavad Gita, two very thorough texts on the Kabbala, portions of the Christian Bible, the Ocean of Truth by Sri Sathya Sai Baba and myriad books by other spiritual teachers, this book is a relief, and truly a Godsend. You will acquire this book if it is your time to acquire this book.
Rating: Summary: I'm a Believer! Are You? Review: I think that CWG was an excellent book. Some may say that this book countredicts their Christian beliefs, however, I believe that this book brings to light the TRUE meaning of Christianity, and it clarifies many misconstrued messages of the Bible. For those who criticize this work, I hope that one day they will be bold enough one day to open their hearts enough to see that there is but One God in this universe, and He shows His face in Many Many more ways that we are capable of understanding. There are many ways to understanding God and experiencing his Love, not just the traditional christian way. God exists for everybody, not just the rigid christians.Open your minds, open your hearts and it will be a much more loving world. This book promotes nothing but love, and respect for all humankind. What's so terrible about that? I welcome hearing from other open minded individuals.
Rating: Summary: Interesting....worth the time.... Review: The bottom line is that no one will really know the answer to "what is this life all about?" until he/she breathes his/her last. Both the Bible reader and the New Ager are proceeding on little more than mere "faith" . I did enjoy the books (all 3 of them) and found them quite interesting. I was raised and schooled as a Roman Catholic...(grade school, high school and even college). And though I was what might be considered relatively "devout", I always questioned (even as a young child) and had a burning need to know "why" and "how". When I graduated from college, I left the Church. "Long story short" I continued to search (sans any organized religion) and never lost my belief in a personal God who loved , protected and forgave me....a God with whom I had my own daily "conversations"....both good and bad. After many years and much searching, I "stumbled" onto "A Course in Miracles" and finally found a "theory" that coincided with and expanded what I had always felt deep inside.. Right or wrong, it has centered my being and has made me a more comfortable, happier and (most importantly) better person. The premise of "Conversations with God" is very similar to the concepts presented in "A Course in Miracles" and is also consistent with what I feel in my heart and in my soul. I cannot prove any of it....and don't believe that anyone else can either.....but the ideas are as believable as the "Virgin Birth", the "Resurrection from the dead" , the "parting of the Red Sea", "Lot's wife, the "multipication of the loaves and fishes" etc. etc. I can only recommend that you read the book with an open mind and heart and make your own decision to believe or not. And then, whatever your choice, make a conserted effort to go forth and truly try to love and help one another in our mutual journey to get to wherever it is we are all going.
Rating: Summary: This book will make you think Review: I am a Freshman in college and I read CWG for the first time as a junior in high school. Wow! It blew my mind and made so much sense. I have gone to Catholic school since kindergarden, and never had I gotten such real, logical, thought-provoking alternatives to the religion that I had grown up with. This book is not for everyone, however. It is not recommended for those who are already content and set with their tunnel vision view of the ever-changing world we live in. This book is for those of who understand that there is much more to the universe than has been taught by those in control. This book opens up so many possibilities. Spirituality in this world is changing (very quickly), and this book will be a big part of why. CWG might not help you find God if you already have limited HER with your religions. But if you are willing to look a bit harder at youreslf and the world around you, this book can help begin you on an awesome spiritual journey. Even though it has not told me exactly what to think, it has taught me how to open my mind and take a closer look at the world around me. I urge anyone who is in high school to read it, and give it some thought, so that when we are in control of the world, we may be able to see that indeed we can do amazing things. Spirituality is evolving, God is talking, and we need to listen.
Rating: Summary: Let go of your fears and realize your potential Review: I've read many reviews and I have to say that it's comforting to know that most of the readers didn't get stuck on the fact that the book goes contrary to many of our society-programmed beliefs !On my part, I've never been a religious guy. I even abandoned what little faith I had in God for the materialist way of thinking (like most). I've sensed a void building inside me all my life and never could figure what was the cause. NOW I KNOW. The book shows how all our fears make us see and live life the way we do and how we ALL can change things to make it better. There's no need for religion. We only have to recognize our false beliefs for what they are and CHANGE them. For those of you who also feel that void (and I know you do) and want some answers, do yourself a favor an read this book.It doesn't matter where the inspiration of this book came from. What matters is if it rings TRUE to YOU. Let go of your fears and live a more joyful life or believe that this is Satan's work. Your choice. Also recommended: The Nature of Personal Reality by Jane Roberts and Stigmata (the movie). P.S.: I'd be pleased to discuss further on the contents of this book so, if you have some questions, don't hesitate to ask (see e-mail).
Rating: Summary: Very thought provoking book! Review: This book has allowed me to think and question for the first time all that I was told I should think about God and Christianity. This book really made me stop and think about spirituality, not religion. Religions tell you what you should think and believe -this book allowed me to make my own perceptions. God is not a dictator as most religions try to tell you, but a creator. Once you read this book you will understand this and see that you too are God, God is in you. We are not suppose to worship God for he is not above us, he is us. This book has made a great difference in my life and anyone who is willing to rethink for themselves all previously taught ideas will be able to judge for themselves what God is instead of taking other peoples word for it. Never take anyones word experience, it for yourself that is the only true way to know for sure. If your ready to change your mind on life and what it holds for you please read this book!!
Rating: Summary: Divinity of Jesus Christ Review: I would have to agree with FRobert, the book takes away the divinity of Jesus and it says that there is no such thing as Satan. Both are terrible lies. Anyone who reads this book and believes in it jeapardizes their soul on Judgement Day. Remember, near the end of times, there will be many antichrists, and this book is one.
Rating: Summary: A similar experience!!! Review: To all the negative critics, its a shame you don't have enough Faith, else, you too would experience what God is. Though not as profound, like Mr Walsch, I too have experienced God. I'll let out a secret, all it takes is Faith and a little quiet time, daily, and you too will experience it, but it has to be done for the right reasons, only then will God reveal the answers to your questions. If I can sum up the experience of Mr Walsch and my own experience in a few words, then this is what I'd like to say, "fear nothing, if we have God within us and around us, whatever happens from now until death we will have Peace within ourselves."
Rating: Summary: CRITICS Review: CRITICS your contradicting yourself with your Judgement. Seems as though you have expertise over comman knowledge. If what you say is garbage and unfit to read, why do you read it...if you feel this way?? Are we lacking something?? By the way this is a great book.
Rating: Summary: Life changing Review: One of the most beautiful books I have ever read. If everyone would read this book, the world would change overnight. It is truly wonderful. Even if you think it is from SATAN, read it and see for yourself if the words in this book are "EVIL". They're not! Read this book and change your life! It completely changed mine. (For the better of course!)
