Rating: Summary: Seeking for inspirational means Review: Note that the Bible was written by groups under the command of King James. He continue the work from Tyndale who was beaten and burned to death. All epistles were not entered in the books of the Bible. How can any of us assume who is right or wrong. No one can judge or know what lies in the heart and soul of another. How can anyone discern falsehood and inform others when no one on this planet earth has control on something solid? If everything is so whopeeda in happiness, then why is this book being read? This tells me that people are seeking for a deeper sense of inspirational understanding, that is not available in their adobe! A lack of peace and harmony is connected to..Hunger or thirst! But when they discover the writing's differ from their teachings, they panic. Plain FEAR, Fear that is not needed. Matt: 7 tells me not to judge others or I shall be judged in measurment of what I have judged. And while I see that small degree in my brothers eye, I do not consider the light (beam) through my own eyes, because I donot see beyond my hypocritical being. I must see my own beam and see clearly before I can better understand my brother. Give not what is holy to those who will abuse and tear down what I trust. I will ask and trust in God, when I knock. I must'nt fear nor shall I look back upon the external world as I enter his door way. If someone shall ask me of bread or fish, my heart is not of stone nor am I evil. For we are all children of God and it stands to reason that we should reach for a better understanding of each other, regardless of our differences. Cast out the mote in our eyes to see clearly the views of others.
Rating: Summary: We are all one? Review: All roads lead to God? Although many of the readers of this book would like to believe this, it is misleading. Why is it that we, in modern society, believe we can get to God doing our own thing rather than practicing the beliefs that God left in his Word. We like taking the easy road out, just as long as it does not cost us anything. God only left one road map from earth to Heaven, and if in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. I believe that God still does converse and inspire people to write and motivate others, but if their words contradict what His Word says, then we must take inventory as to who is doing the inspiring. All roads lead to God? Not so. Not according to Matthew 7. Read it. Then you can decide for yourself. (Note: Judging means to tear another down in order to build oneself up in a hypocritical attitude. I am not judging, I am discerning falsehoods and informing other readers of precautions that should be exercised when one is taking a man's words verbatim when they contradict the Word of God.) In the end, it won't really matter what I type in my review or what Neale Walsch wrote in his book. The end result depends on if we lived our lives according to what the Word says. Yes, we are to love, but we must practice true love and that starts with loving God's Word. If you think CWG is interesting, then you need to read THB (The Holy Bible).
Rating: Summary: A gift of love Review: A profound message of Love from God
Rating: Summary: A bit motivating but more on the confused side Review: It was motivating in such a way that it or rather God tells you how to achieve something that you want in life and that sort of thing. Yet there were things that caught me off guard. Like God saying that He really doesn't care what we do because He gave us the gift of choice. How can you love someone so much and yet not care about that person? He also says that you go through life for the experience and see wether he/she would take it as a good or bad one. So if a person gets raped, will the victim have to choose wether it was a good experience to go on with her life and be happy, or take it as a bad one and be miserable forever? I would rather read Embraced by the Light by Betty Eadie a hundred times than read this book again. At least Ms. Eadie was consistent. Mr. Walsch seemed like he was just going around in circles asking the same questions over again which became so monotonous. My neice, who is 12 even got it the first time and found the author redundant as well.
Rating: Summary: Two surprises Review: There were two surprises for me in Book One: 1. God is a vegetarian, 2. He badly needs an editor.
Rating: Summary: Conversations With God: An Uncommon Dialogue (Book 1) Review: It has changed my life. I can not read fast enough to get to Books 2 & 3.
Rating: Summary: Soulful food for thought...and words and action Review: I must say that I entered into this book with absolute skepticism, but I was surprised that this doubt was expected - and even invited - by the author. The important thing here is that, imagination or Godly inspiration (or both: what, after all, is the difference?) these ideas can be taken for philosophy if nothing else. Can you imagine a world in which we all lived the ideal that CWG sets before us? This thought alone validates what Walsch has done here. This is enough to get me started. Examine your current life and determine where and who you want to be; what could be evil in such a mission? This is an excellent book.
Rating: Summary: Nutrition for the soul Review: After reading about 1/3 of this book, it became the new Best Book I Ever Read. The questions asked are ones that all seekers ask at one time or another. Some of it is very deep and needs to be read slowly, word for word, often more than once, like the explanation of Time. Understanding that all of time exists at the same time is of utmost importance in understanding many of the subsequent answers. The biggest question readers will have: Is it really God he's conversing with? After reading Books 1, 2, and 3, and now his latest: Friendship With God, and every page of every newletter of the Author's organization, and other various books, tapes, and videos of his, I feel qualified to give an opinion on this question: If the 3 word conclusion of the book, (and ultimately all spiritual studies) that WE'RE ALL ONE is correct, (and I KNOW it is) then the answer is yes. One minor complaint: The book had a scene where Neal and God were discussing newpaper stories of a particular day. God kept asking Neal to find and read another story to Him so they could discuss it. God, being omniscient, should have just pointed each story out to Neal. This book can be enlightening and revolutionary to some people, but beware not to take some material out of context. For example it recommends joyfull uninhibited sex, not infidelity and swinging.
Rating: Summary: Book one, step one Review: This first installment, in what has now grown into a breathtakingly inspiring series of books, is well worth a look. Perhaps God really does love us just the way we are after all. Maybe Christ didn't really die for our sins. What if Hitler DID go to heaven? Maybe there isn't only one TRUE religion after all. Maybe we are all one. After reading all four of Mr. Walsch's books, I'm convinced that what he writes is TRUTH, even if it is not biblical.
Rating: Summary: Blasphemy! Heresy! Review: As a disciple of Jesus Christ and a public librarian, people often ask my opinion of the bestsellers. I'm so glad that they ask me about Walsch's book, because when they do, I automatically redirect them toward the one true God, instead of the god Walsch claims to have spoken with. Don't be taken in by this man's foolish, not to mention soul-threatening mumbo-jumbo. Read the Holy Bible.
