Summary: How to be your own god
Review: 50 years ago the content of this book would have been called spritualism. Now it's dressed up in a touchy-feely package that says God isn't important, in fact you can be just like him. There are no wrongs or rights, just how you feel, today. It's just more of a cheap new age imitation of the real thing.

Summary: Sad!
Review: It is understandable why this man stooped this low, money. What is not understandable, are the hundreds who consider this writing worthy of the paper and ink. Sad!

Summary: Try "HE AND I"
Review: This book is only for people who believe they can live life doing anything they please and they'll still have a straight way to heaven. This book is full of untruths. I urge any of you searching for a book where the Lord truly speaks please try "He and I" by Gabrielle Bossis. It is a 5 star book where this is an elementary book of lies.

Summary: New Age-ers -- Enjoy
Review: Read the Introduction and see who his "heroes" are.

For those of you who want to create God in your own image, this is the book for you.

For the rest of you, read the Holy Bible and ask God to speak to you, personally, through His Holy Spirit.

Summary: Calibration as per Power vs Force
Review: The average level of truth of CWG I, as I determined it using a modified version of the method described in 'Power vs. Force' by David R. Hawkins (testing my own anterior deltoid muscle), calibrates at 553, ie. the level of joy, at the emotional level of serenity, a worldview of completeness, and spiritual awareness at the level of oneness. This is also slightly higher than that of some current versions of the Bible, eg. the NIV Study Bible, which calibrates at 527 by the same method, well into the level of love. The implications of this calibration, assuming it is correct, can be studied in Hawkins' book (itself calibrating at an extra-ordinary level of ca. 750), which I warmly recommend. To me, calibrating at 477, the implication is that this book is useful, albeit clearly imperfect.

Summary: Thought Provoking
Review: I received Conversations with God as an early Christmas present this year from my mother. Always on a spiritual journey and eager to expand my way of thinking, I jumped right in. I read the book in one sitting; I just couldn't put it down. What CwG presents is a different vision of God than many people are used to. People that have "made up their mind" about religion will not be swayed by this book, some will call it blasphemy. This book isn't written for them; it is written for those "on the fence" and for people that don't have all the answers worked out for themselves yet. God, as presented in this book, is all loving, never judging, and anxious to walk with you on your journey to become a god youself. There is no hell, no "right" or "wrong." Suffering in life can be controlled by your own thoughts, and we have the God-given power to create our own reality. True, these are similar to Buddhist, Hindu, and Wiccan themes. You can believe that Mr. Walsch really conversed with God or not, but either way, this book will leave you feeling calm and blessed. It is a beautiful step towards enlightenment, if you choose to take this particular path.

Summary: Conversations with myself, not God
Review: I choose to grade this book high on content (some good questions), yet low on intent (Lets sell some books here). The author has chosen to use a common technique that is available to everyone. That is to ask the universe, God or the devine to answer a question or questions and then listen or feel for the answers. Anyone can do it. The author has cleverly used the word God in his title and throughout the book, even going so far as stating that the God character has addressed himself as God, which I feel is quite misleading. I agree with several of the reviewers who state that he is appealing to the devine in himself. Don't be fooled this isn't God the father he is speaking to. Maybe the title would better be stated as Conversations With My Spiritual Self.

Summary: There are not enough stars in the sky to rate this book
Review: The poor people that rant against this book seem to be those that rely on complicated theology and self-righteous indignation to boost their egos and make themselves feel important. I grew up the son of open minded athiests across the street from the local Church of Christ. My parents did not mind my participation and I never missed a Sunday from the age of five to sixteen. I was filled with Christian education and Love and Extended Church Family but my soul lacked conviction and my heart held too many unanswered questions. I investigated other faiths out of my teenage years and into mid-life, always wondering why the hypocrasy of Christianity in organized faiths always outshone the eternal words of the Four Gospels. Out of the blue a friend loaned me a copy of this book. Just as it says in the beginning that one would not be reading it if it weren't time, the countenance of my soul changed before I was through the first chapter. It was hard to read sometimes through the blinding tears of joy and rapture that freely fell down my cheeks as I turned the pages.Even though I held on to my natural skepticism it became clear to me that revelation or not, the writings in this book are of what I always thought God MUST be: oneness, love, understanding, forgiveness, knowledge, and experience. The uncontrollable sobs of inner joy shuddered out of me as each chapter flew by; I have NEVER felt so one with God. The Bible, except for the Gospels, has NEVER had this effect upon my soul. Everything is so exquisitely formed and SIMPLY expressed. It stands on its own with no need to defend itself before critics. The Bible says that we shall all know the prophets by their fruits, and this book is the sweetest bite of all encompassing joy that I have ever had. My body tingled and my mind raced ahead with each turn of the page with questions that I would have; only to find that the author asked the very same on the next page and that The Lord's response was always very simple, clear, and throughout the book, congruous. Take this book for whatever you will; it is the best read I have ever had...ever.I would personally like the author to know that all of his difficult journies through life were of the highest order and for the greatest purpose and I hope that he is filled with God's warmth knowing that his travels to this great but humble work are changing people's lives for the better around the world. That in itself is the beauty of this book. We all suffer and agonize from time to time over what we have created for ourselves in our lives. Mr. Walsch's book is a true inspiration, a testament to the divine nature of each of us and our worth in this harsh world.

Summary: Editor needed - but still ----
Review: Reviewing the reviewers who gave this book one star, I see something in common; for the most part they are not reviewing the book itself, they are challenging the content because it doesn't agree with their narrow view of "truth". What a sad commentary that other views are washed away because it doesn't fit into their narrow framework of "reality". Aside from this book needing a good editor, I found the book refreshing in its concept of God. Conversations with God, is in essence conversations with ourselves since each of us has a spark of the devine within him or her. All we have to do is seek it out. Walsh is not guru, or a provider of profound revelations; he just shares insights that he gained when talking to that part of himself which is the devine. As long as you see it from that angle, and open your mind to other possibilities, you will enjoy the book. If you choose, instead to wrap yourself around "traditional hell and brimstone" you will not like the book. This won't be due it being a bad book; it will be due to it being a good book which is challenging your preconceived beliefs.

Summary: CWG Book I
Review: I found this book honest, entertaining and very insightful. Occasionally I got the feeling that Walsh had taken center stage (Easing-God-Out), but all in all experienced the dialogue as authentic and wonderfully nitty gritty.
