Summary: A life changing book
Review: This is by far the most entertaining, influential and wisdom imparting book I have ever read. The book speaks not just to your intellect but to your very soul. It will change the way you see life by opening new windows to your perception of the world. Is religion really a unifying force for humanity ? Do we need a one world government ? Is sex without love perfectly okay ? It provides some of the best answers to critical questions facing the human race.

Summary: It changed my life
Review: Words alone cannot express what this book has come to mean to me. God has become a permanent resource of love and guidance in my life. Most importantly, He is not some force that I refer to as up-there-somewhere, but a real power of love that dwells within my heart. I have learned how to get what I want out of life. Everything I want. Whatever I wish. God wants what I want and is always, always there for me when I need him. As he can be there for you too. As I am writing this review, tears are welling up in my eyes. Tears of true joy. My spirit is one step closer to feeling free and alive. This is what this book has provided me. I believe that the reason why so many people reject this book, is because they are afraid to believe or because their spirit has not evolved to a this great level of acceptance. And that is okay. If you however are searching for your true self, are tired of feeling rejected and defeated by life and are searching for answers, then your soul may be ready to begin the journey within Conversations with God. Once you do, the doors of glorious joy will open and feelings of unconditional, unending love will rush in forevermore. I pray that all of us experience the glory that lies within our souls. Just remember, God is always with you. He has never left your side.

Summary: Mysticism
Review: In Rom. (8:7) Paul mentions that the mind of the flesh is at enmity against God. Therefore, humankind will continue this conflict between the massed mind and the higher understanding of God. Mysticism in truth is a study of the mind to know its divine aspect and potential for personal growth. Books such alike Conversations with God, help preceive these potentials. For those who control thought by authority of state and religion are at enmity against such. For when people learn how to think and find good for themselves, and it is, people will be no longer dependent upon the control of others. Jesus made note of these matters too. He was in constant understanding and intelligent practical in communion with the mind of God. Those who hated him was at enmity against what he taught. All who seek to apprehend the teachings of Christ are seeking to escape the mind of humankind. Because in this mind of man no good thing comes but tribulation. A person may be of this world, but that doesn't mean we have to be a part of it. Establish your peace with the spirit of plenty. God doen't need the stamp of approval from humankind nor do you need to make an appointment with him. Trust your spirit and learn of God in way's which fit your needs.

Summary: Conversational-ISM
Review: I have read Book #1 which I thought was pretty good and contained some very nice thoughts. I then read 1/2 of Book #2 before almost throwing it out the window as God does liberal politics. Next I read his fourth book called Friendship with God which was very good and I am now reading Book #3. Overall the books make for a nice relaxing reading. At times it is beautifully simple and occasionally even thought provoking. Although I found the conversations series easy to read, if you are logically inclined you may find it a bit annoying at times as it contains a large dose of circular logic. Sometimes during the dialog God avoids directly answering the hard questions and excuses him/her or itself by stating that our current understanding is too limited to explain. Oh well, I guess some things will just have to forever remain a mystery. On the other hand I did like how the author portrays God with a sense of humor. I found myself actually laughing at some of 'God's' responses. On the down side I think that the author is progressively taking this 'New Age Gospel' that he has been 'given' far too seriously. He now sees himself as being given the great commission by his god to spread this new and improved gospel to the four corners and is setting up societies to propagate it. Hmmm....Where have we heard this before?

Summary: A Gift From God
Review: A friend recommended this book to me and I had only reached page 6 when I looked to the heavens and said "THANK YOU! " both to God and to my friend who recommended it. In a time of personal struggle, this book spoke to me as if from God Himself (according to the author it really was!) and helped brighten my outlook on life immediately. I have incorporated many of it's philosophies into my daily life and I am much happier for it. It made everything seem so clear. If you're devoutly religious, it may offend the closed-minded, because it takes more of a personal one-on-one perspective--that no religion is the RIGHT religion. But if you've always wanted to find writings about God (and from God) that make good common sense cover to cover, this is what you've been looking for. I highly recommend all three books in this trilogy, as well as his fourth release in this dialogue style, "Friendship With God".

Summary: Conversations with a NON-BIBLICAL God
Review: As a Christian who believes in The Holy Bible as to be the inspired word of the Eternal God and in His Son Jesus Christ to be our Savoir I can not recommend Neale Donald Walsch's books "Conversations with God". They did not bring me any closer to the God I know - as a matter of fact I felt they drew me further away. And who is this God that Mr. Walsch is talking to? It is definitely not the God found in The Holy Bible (scripture). The teachings of Christ on many of the issues in the books are completely absent - why? The books are nothing but some nice "pocket" philosophy and herein lie the real danger! One shouldn't mistake the real God speaking to us in The Holy Scriptures for the one presented to us in his books. If his books had been backed up by scripture it might have looked different but then again it would have been all too obvious that The Bible would disagree with NDW's "spirit" on quite a lot. If the reader carefully consider how and what God reveals to his people in The Bible one can easily see that Walsch's God is not THE God. And quite honestly - why should God seemingly give NDW all these answers that are already given to us in The Bible? Don't NDW read The Bible like other Christians? I would have liked NDW to be honest with us from the very beginning and tell us that his omnipotent God is of another creed than the Christian God - but then again if you are a Christian in your heart you will find out soon enough yourself. The books do hold some truth that makes perfect sense for most people but calling the books "Conversations with God" is in my mind misguiding even sacrilegious! Perhaps "Conversations with a good spirit" would have been more appropriate for a title. For Christians or anyone else seeking a deep and more profound understanding of the word of God I can not endorse the two following titles enough: "Discipleship of the Mind. - Learning to Love God in the Ways We Think by James W Sire and also "God the evidence" by Patrick Glynn. Absolutely wonderful books which should be in everybody's "library". In contrast to NDW these two authors KNOW God!

Summary: A Challenge to Man's Monuments.....
Review: This is written as a response to those who find fault with CwG.... It seems that those in brick buildings don't like it when their preconceptions on religion are challenged! Sorry to have to mess up your pristine image of your organised religions (organised by God or by SOME men?), but the "Church" has not been a particularly consistent and loving body over the past 2000 years...In accepting this fact (and it is hard not to do when you consider the injustices, terror and downright sadism conducted in the name of God by our leaders of the Church in days gone by... just to mention the Inquisition and the Church's response to the works of Gallileo is a good start) you may then wish to question "Who would I rather put my faith in - the Church and its leaders who have so often NOT acted in the true name of God (being love to all) or a concept (if you don't like the term "God") which encourages you to find love by looking within. I cannot blame the Church and its followers for not liking this book. It makes their views potentially irrelevant. Surely God would not wish his most devoted followers (sic) to be irrelevant, particularly after all the money they have spent (devoured) into building shrines of glory! Which brings me to my last point, do our religious leaders really think that a true and loving God would want millions spent and "invested" in bricks and mortar monuments rather than in helping the poor and needy? Come on guys, get really spiritual this millenium and look within as to what you really believe is the higher belief.

Summary: Magnificent!
Review: Many reviews have been written testifying to the enormity and graciousness of the message that Neale brings us. So i don't want to take up bandwidth doing more of that. I have read about half the reviews here and was struck by how many neagtives it got, all from Christians. Now that is interesting, because i'm of Jewish origin and i see no Jews panning the book in the same way. Nor do i see any from other faiths doing this.

I think this speaks reams about what organised Christianity has done to its followers. I hasten to add that not all Christians are like this, and for the sake of balance, i think my own religion has much to answer for as well.

So the reactions of these people are themselves testimony to what the book is saying. If you are a deeply religious, right wing, evangelistic Christian my advice to you is not to read this book.

If you are a seeker, and genuinely wanting inspiration and clarification about what it all means then you will be enormously inspired and uplifted by its message. The Jesus of my faith (he was, after all a Jew) is mentioned in the Talmud, I believe briefly. This book helped me to understand the major place he should occupy in my religion, but doesn't because of the same blind prejudice that so many Jews have. In this they are no different to intolerant Christians. Isn't it time everyone just grew up a little and stopped fighting each other? Wasn't that one of the central messages of this book?

So my hope and vision is that this book brings together those who are open and tolerant to a place called wisdom.
