Summary: Read this book at your own peril
Review: Please, do not buy this Walsch writer's claim that he is conversing with God. It is pure nonsense. This book drives people away from the real truth, which lies in the Holy Bible. Read the Gospels about the resurrection of Christ. Remember that 11 disciples took Jesus' truth to the grave and never recanted. 'Conversations with god' has nothing to do with God, and probably has more to do with the once angel who wanted to 'be like the Most High'. The real path to fulfillment and happiness in life is Jesus Christ. That has been proven to me through personal experience. A year ago I would have loved to read 'Conversations', but since becoming born again I thank the Lord with the wisdom not to accept such words from false prophets.

Summary: Terrible
Review: Neale Donald Walsch is as much a god as Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jim Baker, Oral Roberts, and even the grrreat Billy Graham. It all comes down to money, money, money! Check out the last pages where you can purchase furthur sputterings for your own piece (NOT SP!) of mind, or even take advantage of a divine workshop- all for a price! Nothing new in this book that hasn't been said before. I must admit, the title was certainly a catchy way to sell!

Summary: Absolutely Profound!
Review: I know that there is no such thing as a coincidence and I had been referred to read this book 3 times within 48hrs. The path that I am on has lead me to a number of conclusions about the world as we know it and this book definitely affirmed notions I already had about some things. It was most inspiring, informative, and I strongly suggest that anyone who reads it first open your mind to the infinite possibilities of the universe. Remembering who we really are and what our true purpose in life is, is an evolution unique to every individual. If your path has lead you to this book, act now! I am greatly looking forward to book 2 and expect nothing but life changing information.

Summary: GOD
Review: Whatever we think of It, accepting or denying ... is up to anyone. The fact is that there is no "real proof" in layman's terms. So, we, and any of the billions of humans that lived, live and will live, can only follow their individual "voice". We all , in our individual journey through life, encounter events, people and books that make us question ourselves, our beliefs, our ideas, our concepts and our truths ... thus far "creating" the opportunities to change or not. This particular book, makes you think and rethink and eventually to analyze yourself and what you are. Whatever one is, one is ultimately faced with itself, responsible for the way one conducts itself. Conversations with God confronts you with you and what you end coming up with to yourself is a step to what is already in You.

Summary: Divinely inspired work? Who Cares!
Review: Some people want to debate whether these books are or are notdivinely inspired, but I'm not interested in that. The words I readhere shake me to my very foundations--like a beautiful work of art or a lovely musical performance. Just as I listen to my favorite CD's repeatedly, I also read and reread these pages...each time with a new perspective. So it really doesn't concern me where these words are coming from. All I know is that my heart responds to them...and that is all I need to know.

Summary: Confusing
Review: It leaves you flabergasted ! So many important questions come to your mind, which were of no interest to Walsch probably. If you have a born sick child, did he create that ? Did the mother create this pain and suffering for herself ? Walsch goes on asking unimportant questions about how to be financially successful and whether he lived before and how many lives, and leaves out much more important issues. The book is frustrating indeed, and utterly confusing, but according to "God", very very simple.

Summary: A Retrospective Look At CWG
Review: A long while back (maybe three years ago), I bought this book and it revolutionized my life. I have read it at least a dozen times over and have bought a copy for so many people its hard for me to remember just how many. I came back and read through some of the reviews that have been made...and now its time for a retrospective.

Of all the books on spirituality I have read over many years, this is the MOST important work I have ever read. Of course God is going to write a book that is controversial...and from talking in news groups, chat rooms, directly to people and everywhere else about this book, it has caused a tremendous stir. Now why is that?

It's because this book challenges conventional religious doctrine. Especially Christianity. Those who are fundamentalists will see little value in this book because it contradicts what they have been taught. In Conversations (CWG), it's mentioned there..."You would rather listen to THEM rather then to ME." This was God's complaint about giving Isreal a king as well.

If you really ponder and think about what is said in this book, you will eventually come to the conclusion I believe, that God's wisdom is perfect and untainted by man's thinking...which is what this book is about. Instead of speaking lof LIMITATION, this book speaks of our limitlessness. Instead of speaking about CONDITIONAL love such as "you have to accept Jesus as your savior" or go to hell...it speaks of a greater God, a God who is UNCONDITIONAL. Instead of preaching about our separateness from divinity, it speaks about our inalienable ONENESS to God and the fact that we are ALL tied together by a unique thread. These are not limitations as religious dogma insists upon, these are ideas of spiritual freedom, unhindered by the typical threats of damnation, judgement and self-abasement necessitated by religion. This is the kind of relationship we need to have with God...not one of FEAR but one of LOVE.

This book establishes the true relationship of US and God, that we are ONE and not separate. For it is only through separation that we are grounded in fear and believe in the limitation of self. Through separation, we can justify our doubts, revoke our absolute responsibilities for what happens to us in life, separate ourselves from our doings, thoughts and speach. We can create the situations and the deeds and then divorce ourselves from the consequences. When we believe in separation we think as judgers, claiming the "rightness" of our judgments of right and wrong...only when we give up separation do we see what Jesus said when he asserted "Judge not unless ye be judged" and "love they neighbor as theyself." Only in ONENESS can we really understand why Jesus said..."whatsoever you do to the least of these you do to me."

I think God always speaks to us in the context of what we can understand and comprehend. So if Neale had been a Buddhist, the way this book was presented might have had a Buddhist slant and if he had been Muslim...it would have had that flavor too. But no matter what religion Neale comes from, I think the principles would remain the same. Of course many Christian's are going to feel victimized, that is how they have been taught to think...like being a victim if their beliefs are challenged.

It is just this kind of challenging we NEED to have. That is why the book was written. Because religion does not serve man's highest needs. In fact, when we read this book and PRACTICE what it says, we find we no longer have a need to have anything in between us (like a dogma, doctrine, theology or church structure) and God. That is the most liberating freedom that can be had...freedom from orthodoxical control mechanisms. In a world groping for even the tiniest bit of TRUTH, here we have a whole book full of it.

I am firmly behind this book because I have practiced its contents and have been liberated from the control mechanisms that historical man-made concepts and constructs have created for us. How long will we continue to preach the goodness that is supposed to be God, yet fear God as the condemer and judger, seeing God doing the things WE do as humans? That is the mistake that has been repeated over and over again by our learned church leaders and theologians throughout time...they have created a monstrosity out of simplicity, adorned it with the tapestry and doings of ritual, limited us when we are unlimited, threatened our existence when there is no limit...no limit, no judgement, no condemnation, no conditions...THIS IS the essence of a God so great that he becomes the greatness that we should expect of our Creator! Anything less is not the God of Who IS, but of a lesser god of whom we have created for the benefit of our own power and out of our own greed to control.

This book is LIBERATION of the mind and soul. It is better than the Bible, because it cuts through to where we are at as we know ourselves to be from Spirit...that we are all GOOD at heart and at ONE with God.

Summary: Material for a Better Life
Review: WOW! The most fulfilling, relieving, uplifting, and pleasantly depressing book I have ever read in my life. I say pleasantly depressing because this GREAT WORK has embodied so much of the anger, frustration, and despair of today while providing simple, guaranteed and helpful solutions to the ills of any society. Thank GOD in all HER glory. The unbiased and open-minded way that GOD answers all the questions that we ALL have had, through Neale, is truly AMAZING. My life has been dramatically enhanced due to LIVING the information this book has provided. The pure FEELABLE truth that the CWG series selflessly offers is undeniable. I feel that anyone who wishes to be the best at anything, needs Needs NEEDS to read this book many times over. GOD Bless Neale Donald Walsch and us ALL.

Summary: Conversations with God
Review: Conversations with God is a disturbing book. Not disturbing because it upsets the traditional religious applecart, but because if the universe was run the way that this ' god' said it would be a frightening, confusing and unjust place. The information that ' it' presents is nothing more then rehashed New Age thought, mind science theories, and liberal theology. Unlike some, I will accept at face value that the author did, and does, have conversations with ' god'. However, I do question 'its' credentials. At no time does the author ever bother to say ' prove it'! Throughout the Old Testament whenever God showed up dramatic things happened, but when 'it' shows up all you have is... writing? That's it? Sorry, but automatic writing has been around for thousands of years and just because it is happening is no proof that the ' it' that is communicating is a god, or an alien, or a spirit or whatever ' it' wants to call itself this week. That author should have asked for ID! Throughout the book ' it' puts out New Age thought- " You are god", " there is no right or wrong. You create your own rules.', ' all matter vibrates at different levels. Evolve to a higher vibrating state.' " Jesus, like Buddha, was an ascended master." 'It' also makes statements supporting aliens and alien visitation. . Mind science theories -" You create your own reality." " You can have anything you want. Just think it." " All sickness is essentially created by you." " Your thoughts make create matter." And Liberal theology. -" There is no such thing as the 10 commandments." " Adam and Eve were mythical" " There is no such thing as evil, just what you call evil." " God is not involved, nor cares, about human events.' "It' also makes statements supporting evolution. I feel sympathy for those that would want to be in this 'gods' universe because: - For those that have been raped, there is no justice. - For those that are sick, you want it that way. - For those that are in pain and dying, you caused it all to happen. - For those that have had terrible misfortune happen to them, your thoughts created your reality - For those that are downhearted, weak, there is no higher being to look up to. - If your child has been molested, it isn't wrong. - If your spouse is cheating on you, that's okay, because he's doing whats right for him. - If your children grow up to be serial killers, rapists, murderes, thieves, don't worrry, they are GODS, they just don't know it yet. In the end let's believe the author when he says that 'it' told him all these things... and say.. .NO THANKS!.

Summary: Inspirational
Review: I thought this was a very deep and profound book. I believe it is a wonderful book for those who are searching for answers. I do though, struggle with some of the sayings that go against the Bible, because I believe the Bible is the ultimate truth. In the book Walsch says that God said the fall of man is a blessing because it gave us a free will. I would have to disagree with that, because we've always had a choice, even before the fall. If we didn't we couldn't have chosen to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Test the book for yourself, but never forget that the Bible is the ultimate truth, for every word is God breathed.
