Summary: Open your mind.
Review: I have read the many reviews of this book. While most are of the grateful many whose lives were changed by this book, some are of the closed minded saying that it was just Walsh's own views, using "New Age" Rhetoric.

Well that's fine. Go ahead, label it. Dismiss this book as the acts of a greedy man just spouting off old ideas for money, if it makes you feel better. Stay inside your walls.

Your right. It is a good possibility that the ideas in this book were spoken by someone else before Walsch. But does it mean that if someone else has had these same ideas of peace and freedom, it makes what's in this book any less valid?

Some people may need a church to feel valid in their spiritual life, and that too is fine. The core of many religions are good, no matter how rotten the shell is. Yet for those of us who do not need to find God in the pages of an ancient book; for those of us who would rather find God in the now and every thing around us, this book will help clarify your questions.

Now, you can believe what he says or not. I too, while reading this book, found passages where Walsh's own mind came in the way of what I believed God was saying. But if you know the truth of God, and can recognize it in any form, you will find it inside the pages of this book.

For those who think that this was done solely for money: Does it matter? Do the authors intentions really have an effect on the message of the book? Is it not written in the Bible that the word of God doesn't loose its power, no matter who speaks it? I know thousands of people who's lives were changed that saw paying for this book as a way of saying thank you. I believe that Walsh wrote this book to help people that were in the position he was. The money was just a side effect. But again, you can believe what you like.

My only hope by writing these words is to challenge those who would have written off this book as "New Age." Perhaps it is a new age. One where all are loved, regardless of their actions. Is that so terrible? If your still skeptical, borrow this book from a friend. You'll risk no money, and all you'll spend is a small amount of time. What harm is there in trying?

Find God, wherever you can, and your life will be that much better.

Summary: A sigh of Relief
Review: Before I had read this book I was filled with nothing but fear and confusion. The book has brought to my attention a new way to view what I do not understand. I am no longer afraid to have the thoughts I HAVE IN MY MIND. I am now more aware of the force inside of me to move forward in life without that threat of damnation. And if that is the reason the Book came to me, I am glad and know I need not fear myself. I wont hold everything in this wonderful book as gossipal, but I will use most of it to help ME in my journey.

Summary: This book is about Philosophy and New Age nothing more
Review: He claims that he is not writing the book "This book was not written by me it happend to me" I don't doubt that he is talking to something...but what is talking to him should be the question. "How do I know this is not my own imagination? What would be the difference, In truth, it is you who have invited me in to answer your call" "it is far easier to accept the interpetation of other (even others who lived 2000 yrs ago?) Clearly here he is speaking of Christ Jesus as misinterpeting Gods word. pg8 "I cannot tell you my truth until you stop telling me yours. But my truth comes from the Bible. Those are not authoritative sources" Instead he says "Listen to your feelings there right" pg10 "If outward observation is necessary, inward experience is not possible. Inward experience refer to Godself" pg12 "God is the observer, not the creator you free will is God's will for you" You live your life the way you live your life I have no preference" pg14 "You created the devil from quilt and fear he doesn't exsist" "You project the role of parent onto God who rewards and punishes I have no preference in the matter" pg21 "we are not here to learn lessons? No. Re-create who you are" here he is saying define your own reality pg22 "to know your self as the creator you must create" he goes on to say that we create the world by out thoughts we are gods he defines Father, Son and Holy Spirt as Superconscious, Conscious and subconscious. I notice that he uses the "Son" but only refers to christ as a teacher instead of savor. 1Timothy4:1 The spirit clearly says that in latter times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. Please think about this before you purchase this book. 2Timothy 3:16,17 Test the teachings by the word of God if you beleive that Christ is our Lord and Savior and God incarnate do not buy this book. In his letter to the Galatians the apostle Paul says: I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel--which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! (Galatians 1:6-8)

Summary: Neale Donald Walsch as God
Review: Recommended by a friend. What a supreme disappointment! Walsch is the latest in a long, long line of amateur philosophers who project their wants, desires, beliefs, and prejudices as some kind of transcendent truth. A much easier road than challenging one's own beliefs by comparison with the wisdom of the ages. God is this boook is Walsch. As G.K Chesterson warns those who wander after this will-o-the-wisp" "Of all conceivable forms of enlightenment the worst is what people call the Inner Light. Of all the horrible religions the most horrible is the worship of the god within... That Jones shall worship the god within him turns out ultimately to mean that Jones will worship Jones."

The saddest thing about this book is that there are so many people who want to hear this kind of easy-to-swallow affirmation so they don't have to feel guilty for not challenging their own beliefs. It also makes us feel more "modern" and enlightened when we have something to replace traditional religions, religions that must be obsolete simply because they are old.

Summary: Why Not...
Review: I ask, Why not? Why couldn't Mr. Walsch have a conversation with God? Remember back to the old days; back when there were real survivors, God talked to everyone. But what does it take to talk to God? If this book, and the forty that follow give the answer, you need to be on your last leg. You need to be so far down; so desperate, so low that the ants look like angels; then you can strike up a conversation with the Leader. But wait, the books really are informative. The whole series gets better and better as you get into them. Do you have real, down-to-earth questions? These books give you, if not the dogma you may crave, a way of figuring out the answers for yourself. The problem is they pretty much put the burden back on you: Who are you? Who do you want to be? These are questions a lot of us don't want to ask, let alone answer. But the best part is the books show how to look at life without looking through the filters of church dogma. Enjoy, (signed, GOD)

Summary: Peace, Joy, and Unconditional Love!
Review: In May of 1998 I was at the bookstore for something completely unrelated to a "spiritual" book. As I perused the shelves, I was drawn to something in my peripheral vision. Although there were many books propped on the display with spot lighting, CWG might as well have been the only one! (Of course, that's how God works!) I read CWG 1 five times that first year! The first time, my husband and I read it to eachother and laughed and cried all the way through. I remember reading the last pages as we were on the freeway in Wisconsin and crying tears of pure love at the words on the last page. I didn't want to finish it. My favorite chapter is #10! The story of the Littlest Soul, begun in book 1 and continued in a either book 2 or 3, formed a beautiful foundation for viewing and exeriencing all my contacts with other people. Now even "bad" experiences are good; I now silently bless the person bringing me grief for agreeing to come into my life in order to teach me how to re-member Who I Am. If nothing else, remember in the hard times that God has the power to change ANYTHING, and if He allows pain in your life, IT MUST BE FOR YOUR GOOD, otherwise He wouldn't allow it. He's not a vengeful God - She wants us all to know joy, peace, and unconditional love. Enjoy these books, they will change you, bring you closer to Who You Are. I've just ordered "Friendship With God" (2 copies),and as I read the excerpt on this book, my heart was filled with such excitement and True Love. I can't wait for it to get here. God Bless you all!!

Summary: Eye Opening
Review: CWG is an upbeat, intersesting dialogue between a man and his maker. I enjoyed the book for two particular reasons. Firstly, I enjoyed the approach because as a child I was taught to pray to God as if He was in front of me. During my youthful prayer the thought crossed my mind to ask, like Walsch did, the burning questions of life, instead of asking for forgiveness or some good fortune. Secondly, the conversation Walsch had with God is enlightening, engaging, and entertaining- qualities I usually wouldn't associate with a God dialogue. I recommend it to anyone seeking meaning and satisfaction in their lives. Another book I would highly recommend for the seekers of meaning or satisfaction is 'Working On Yourself, Doesn't Work' by Ariel and Shaya Kane. The Kanes give incredible perspectives on what it really takes to be satisfied and happy. Buy both the rewards will be exponential

Summary: God Not Acknowledged
Review: The author acknowledges numerous people and sources in his "Acknowledgments" section as the book opens but fails to acknowledge "God" - even though the book is titled "Conversations With God" ... A gimmick ? Yes But drips pearls of "Wisdom" nonetheless.

Cash in old boy - well done !

Summary: Conversation with God
Review: Hi, I am from Puerto Rico. I am really amazed with the book "conversation with God" because I found a lot of things a thought by myself (and I was believing I was crazy). At least I found something refreshing. In that book I also found the God I know, a Good one a different one.I reccomend this book to everybody.

Thank you!!

Summary: There's No Such Thing As Coincidence
Review: There's something I'd like to share with you. I've just finished the most extraordinary book I've ever read, so extraordinary in fact that it has made a profound impact on the way I view humanity's relationship with our Creator. I've not before read such a moving, compassionate, coherent piece of writing, and believe that this book deserves to be read regardless of your particular religious beliefs and experiences. I'd picked this book up on a number of occasions while in Australia and had put it down again, convinced it was nothing more than yet another piece of new age mumbo jumbo. Last week at work I found a copy of this book on my desk, and now believe, in spite of my previous arguments to the contrary, that God does reach into people's lives. If you are searching for straight forward answers to some of life's most difficult questions, then Conversations With God (Book 1) may be the book for you.
