Rating: Summary: You Too Can Make Money By Imagining Review: Close your eyes. Pretend that you are you. Think of a question for God. Type it. Now close your eyes again. Pretend that you are God. Answer the question. Easy, isn't it? And guess what, folks, it also turned out to be a very lucrative exercise for Donald Neale Walsch. He does seem to trip up once in awhile by giving forth wisdom that most people would have a hard time swallowing ("Hitler went to heaven" "God doesn't love good more than evil"); but, for the most part he puts in truisms we all have been taught and long ago accepted. H-m-m-m let me ask: Do you suppose that since God channelled this book, he donated all of the proceeds back to God? To the poor? To the hungry? H-m-m-m I doubt it very seriously. Skip the book. Your common sense will give you the same and better benefits for free.
Rating: Summary: BOLD FACED LIES FEEDING OFF HIS READERS Review: This book was the most grotesque attack on religions I have ever witnessed. The authors frustration with his own lack of morals and will power are obvious. People like Mr. Walsh are the reason today's society is in such disarray. He's looking for a candy coated religion that will justify his own bad habits. He claims to have searched them all and was sadly disappointed. So the only alternative was to create his own that would suit his needs. Sorry folks, read your scripture. This book comes straight from hell and will lead many toward it. So why would our God create us imperfect and then punish us for our imperfections? Simple, he didn't. We made the choice ourselves as he gave us freewill. But there's good news, he did provide us with a way out! Jesus Christ our Lord! - AMEN!
Rating: Summary: A Fortunate Coincidence Review: I happened to come across this book while browsing in a bookstore, never having heard of the book or its author. I feel very fortunate to have found it. Conversations With God, Book 1 is so engrossing that I had to force myself to put it down ever so often in order to fully digest the amazing thoughts that lay before me. I often reread passages, and would not allow myself to read fast. The ideas I found here rang so true that they absolutely resonated within me! I would recommend this book to your readers, as I have done to my friends and family.
Rating: Summary: True Wisdom Review: This book is inspired. It is part of the on-going Revelation. It is well written, accessible, logical, and most of all funny. There were times while reading this when I was struck by its lucidity - a sort of satori where someone rings the soul's bell and all is made clear, light and hilarious. I take this notion of laughter seriously for it means that something was moved, a paradigm exposed, a new angle revealed. Parts of this book will totally reverse your thinking on life, sin, "what's it all about." Whether this book is in fact a conversation with God is immaterial (literally and metaphorically). The important thing is that it is packed with real wisdom. Highly recommended.
Rating: Summary: Try another.... Review: A poor read. There are a few nuggets of commonlly accepted but overlooked or forgotten wisdom but for the most part is weak in its ability to really contribute anything of importance to solving any problems. This planet has big problems and science puts the rubber to the road in solving them... And it is not short lived in antedotal messages. Something I read in a huge online debate has always stuck with me when the assertion of any God is presented. It goes as follows: You've conjured up an illusion that appeals to your vanity. It appears as though Walsh has done this and profited immensly from it. I'm an Atheist but I found Pecks "the road less travelled" and "people of the lie" at least helpful and a great read. As well Carl Sagans books. There is also "the lost art of listening" by Nichols. These books are better how to books for improving yourself and the world you live in.
Rating: Summary: Look a Gift Horse in the mouth and you lose it's true value! Review: This particular "horse" is a gift. It conveys truths most of us already know (ever experience that chill coursing through your whole body when a deeper truth is revealed to you? - a "gift" to let you know your soul heard/saw/felt!) but are afraid to live. Yes, this book is written by a man. But so was the Bible. Whole nations changed because of the Bible. With God's help, maybe we'll manage to change for the better this time. So, along comes Neale D. Walsch with his perception of words given to him by God. Even if you don't believe every word, you HAVE TO BE HAVING THAT CHILL happening. God is in-between and throughout every thought conveyed there. It doesn't matter WHO WROTE IT! God's love is found everywhere in the series and only a blind or bitter and shriveled mind could block that part out! Wouldn't it have been nice to be there when the Bible was first written, so you know how it was presented before politics got in the way and changed it all to fit their hidden agenda? Well, here's that very same opportunity and WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITH IT???? Crucifying Jesus or any prophet you can find all over again, in as many ways, with as many excuses as were used 2000 years ago. *sigh* Nothing in the series will bring you or humanity harm. Were you capable of recognizing that? I've read #1, #2, #3 and Friendships. #1 opened my eyes, #'s 2&3 gave insight, but Friendships gave me the ability to incorporate God into my moment-by-moment life. May love do the same for you.

Rating: Summary: ....an amazing grace Review: Nothing can adequately describe what these books have meant to me. "Conversations With God" has truly been my saving grace. I once was lost, but now am found. Twas blind, but now I see. And I am eternally grateful for the sweet words of love, truth, and joy I have found here.
Rating: Summary: A saving grace... Review: All of my life I have been surrounded by persons intent on convincing me that life is rotten and hard, that people must judge to protect themselves, that they must be selfish and mean to protect themselves, that they must be afraid and malicious - and that God is like that too. Mean, punitive, judgemental and neurotic. According to the Methodist creed I grew up with, God is only love when you toe the line. At all other times he is a bully. As a child, teen, and young adult I screamed inside against this liturgy. It can't be true, I thought!!! It went against everything I instinctively knew was true about God. Eventually, the aggregate of pain and suffering on this planet convinced me that God did not care and I became bitter, convinced that it was a sick joke to be sent to a planet of insanity and horrible suffering and to have a heart that cared about it. I read hundreds of books on spirituality, seeking some kind of logical answer and found tidbits and snippets - enough to keep me going, but not enough to release the ache in my heart. Then, finally I found these books and I laughed, delighted at God's sense of humor, I cried profoundly at the sense of it all and at the incredible love pouring off of the pages. But mostly, I rejoiced! For I had found myself again - the one that convention and social construct had buried for so long. For these were my thoughts and my words and my feelings. Everything made sense to my inner instincts and they came to light again and I realized for the first time that it wasn't I who was weak, or crazy, or blind - it was the rest of the world. That the things I felt within myself were the truth. What a revelation after years of self-flagellation for not fitting in with the tribal mentality! Here for the first time was permission to follow my heart. To believe in it and trust in it. Incredible!!!
Rating: Summary: A Divine Conversaiton Review: Reading this book is like having afternoon tea with God. In it you will find huge nuggets of Truth which liberate from bias dogma. Book 1 and 2 are superb and will enlighten the mind with New Thought.
