Summary: It Was Like Coming Home
Review: I purchased CWG, Bk-1 audio - followed by Bk-3 audio, on the recommendation of a friend and because of my own curiosity. I listen to books on tape while driving to/from work and on trips. This book had a profound impact on me. My personal spiritual belief system did not have a home of like-mindedness until I read this book. I kept saying, "YES", "YES", "YES - this is what I have always believed!" But, until I was fortunate enough to run across CWG, I felt alone in my thoughts and beliefs on the subject. It was truly heart-felt validation for me.

It expanded far beyond what I could have ever imagined in addressing a multitude of subjects common to everyday living in the human plane as well as our questions and concerns regarding the spiritual realm. I have read both books twice so far and have ordered Bk-2 in audio. I will also purchase the full series in hard copy for easy and quick reference. Works of this significance and profoundity are well worth the investment of audio as well as hard copy.

I would like to personally thank Mr. Walsh for sharing his wonderfully enlightening and spiritually illuminating experience. I am sure many have gained much from it - I certainly have. And lastly, kudos to those who were the "voices" in the audio books - perfect - wonderful representations - well done by all!

Review: I found it ironic that this book was written with words.

Summary: The Finest of the Series
Review: Now that we've witnessed the many sequels to the original, this book remains the finest of the entire series, capturing an innocence and earnestness that seemed to me to be lacking in the later works. While Neale is no doubt enlightened and perhaps one of the more advanced souls walking among us today, I do feel that Book 3 and Communion with God, were not written wholly by what one could call the Voice of God. And when you come back to Book 1, the words leap out at you, as meaningful and clear as the first time you read them.

Book 1 laid the groundwork for the entire series. For this reason, it stands as the most profound of the lot. What has constantly suprised me about this work, is that it has singlehandedly managed to break down the walls of religion and race divide that we humans so unwittingly thrive on. It also erases fear, guilt, hate, prejudice, homophobia and ingratitude with words so simple, they can only be true. However, it is a pity that in America, it is currently being referred to in negative terms, accused of 'threatening Christianity'. America seems to be the only nation in the world that has a problem with this Book, leading one to realize that it is not a progressive nation at all. In Europe, religion has more or less taken a back-seat, and people are more eager to sample the more fruitful teachings of spirituality. That is why, while Americans waste away their hours feeding upon the phoney spirituality of Deepak Chopra, the Europeans do better, and benefit from Walsch instead. It is high time this country woke up to 'Conversations with God' and realize that Christianity is not the answer to everything, least of all the ability to conquer fear.

As a spiritual manuscript, I rate 'Conversations with God' higher than The Bible. And that is not blasphemy, it is understanding.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Some good points, but a work fiction
Review: It was encouraging for "God" to be quoted as saying: there is no devil, no hell, and no original sin; that environmental destruction is wrong, and eating meat is at least a questionable act; that you should rely more on your own thinking; and that sex for fun is all right.

Still, God is quoted as saying such things as: we have been visited by aliens; we are all psychics; and our bodies are designed to last forever.

This is not the record of a conversation with God, but the author's imaginative writing. Some "God's" statements make sense, but much of the reasoning is flawed, even off-the-wall, and quite convoluted.

Summary: God wants our conversation.
Review: For centuries God has attempted to reach us. These books are another attempt. It is true that there are many men of god who have tried to show Man where his mistakes have been happening. And man doesnt listen or heed. Look at Noah. No one listened. The rain fell. The boat floated. Now the earth is falling apart and Neale Walsch is our prophet for today. Get your "ship" together or else the world will fall apart. The Bible has always been impossible to understand. Some of it just did not make sense. Faith has substance, and this book doesnt deny that. These two authors...Mr. Walsch and Mr. God, take what was difficult and make it easy. It is written in today's english. Using today's words. Jesus was sinless because sin doesnt exist. Hell is described as life as we make it. Whether that is now or later. God wants to be our friend, he wants to be personal and involved with out everyday activities. That is not new. The Holy Spirit wants the same relationship...and how many christians have invited the Holy Spirit to go to the grocery store with them? Darn few. Lots of what you were taught in sunday school was wrong. We get new information all the time about everything. Read these books, with expectation, because GOD will fill your hearts with LOVE and you will want to share Love with everyone.

Summary: CWG...a blessing to all
Review: I don't really know what to say about this book. For me, it has truly been a revelation and a wonder to read. I have never found anything so beautifully written, and so clear and simple in its presentation. Add to that its joy, fun, humor, and lightheartedness and you have something pretty good on your hands. I will be reading this book for the rest of my life...especially when life deals out more than I feel capable of dealing with. At times like these I find nuggets of Truth which help to ease my mind...bringing peace and acceptance to the situation at hand. "Know that what you do in the time of your greatest trial can be your greatest triumph." Yes...God is with us through it all...we need only remember that.

Summary: How to hear from Satan and think it's God
Review: I read this book after finding it on the Christian book shelf at my local library. (it is not there now).

Please note I rated this one star to be able to give it a review.

Con versations with God by Walsh

The introduction/forward of the book was deceit itself. It was designed to make the reader 'think' that they were a very special person for choosing to read the book and that if they put the lessons of the book into practice, that the world would be a better place because of them.

The writer (walsh) was convinced that he was hearing from God, who was telling him things that had to be put into practice.

So what was in the book? Something rather strange. The book 'supposedly' about and from God, was a series of lessons designed to tell people that what God had already said in His Word, the Bible was wrong. Strange isn't it.

The lessons in the book, (if one believed it and put them into practice), were designed to systematically break down the readers sense of moral values (sense of right and wrong), to the point that if one went along with it, it did not matter what one did or said or who the reader hurt, (not very caring or loving is it, and of course totally against what God really tells us in the Bible).

The book then went on to tell people that they would then hear a voice and that it was God, but of course it is not, it is the one that in the Bible, God warns us of, the deceiver, Satan.

He mentions later in the book that New Age is a safe zone, (somehow he does not 'seem' to be aware of what God really says about their practices in the Bible, but then Walsh's background is Roman Catholicism).

Are people so gullible, unfortunately yes. What would have protected them from being deceived is something God gave us to protect us, keep us safe and rescue us, lead us to Him. His Word, the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit . But they do not know or understand it.

People who have been taken in by this 'New Age' (old things new names to deceive), religion/movement, think that they are building a new world order, where there will be peace and prosperity, love, etc. etc. They have a saying (from that voice again), you build it, I will come. THEY DO NOT REALISE WHO THE 'I' IS!

(It is very much like what happens to Freemasons, they hear the you build it I will come thing as well, they think they are Christian some of them, but later, step by deceiptfull step, they are led on a path which has them so deceived (some of them anyway), that they end up believing satan is god and worshipping him as if he were and not realising they are wrong or how they got there).

Some of them call themselves world servers. They do not realise who it is they are really serving and it is most certainly not in my or your best interests. (Satan seeks to destroy by deception).

They do not seem to realise that God warns us in the Bible about the things that are happening. That one will come to deceive many. Mentioned in Revelations and other parts of the Bible - The New Age'ers are actually being 'primed' to accept this deception of Satan and to think he's from God or God (even Jesus Christ in some casses). That will obviously lead them to some pretty serious problems, big time (God's judgement for eternity).

The New Age religion is made up of many things, suffice it to mention a few, witchcraft, satanism, spirtualism, eastern mysticism, basically every vile occult practice/belief, anything which God warns about to keep us safe. The only belief not involved in it is Christianity. (People calling 'themselves' Christian but not being Christian do not count).

New Age'rs type of love is very fuzzy, seeming to love people but really loving themselves and what they think/want more than anything or anyone else. A contradiction in itself.

They tend to not realise the difference between actual good and evil.

They do not actually know what God says in the Bible, though many actually call themselves Christian.

But then they think they can make up their own rules and standards, despite what is actually good and what is actually evil.

You may be deceived into reading Walsh's book I sincerely hope however that you heed this warning and start finding out about God, rather than become involved in the deceptions God warns about.

God warns for a reason, He does not want to consign most of His creation to eternal suffering, but He does give free will.

You want to find real love and meaning to your life, really turn to God.

Walsh does not know the things of God, but seems very involved in the things of Satan, who will you follow (for eternity).

Please feel free to contact me for truthfull, meaningfull discussion.

Summary: Spiritual healing
Review: I know many people who have read this book and, whether they ultimately accept its wisdom as truth or not, one theme seems to ring constant - "This is what I have always sort of felt deep down inside." Because religion teaches us that there is only one way to believe in God and that certain rules must be followed to do so, many of us abandon the inner search, the thoughts and feelings that come about naturally and make us believe a certain way without explanation. I have never been able to reconcile my inner thoughts and my strong notion of free will with traditional Christian thought. To me, it always seemed that you should try to be a good person and that the faith and spirituality would follow but have been told by my Christian friends that as long as you go to church and read the Bible, you are "ok" in God's eyes. These same friends have praised my morals and "Christian ways" but made me feel inadequate for not accepting the word of the Bible as absolute truth (not because I didn't want to but just because I had so many unanswered questions), for questioning whether Jesus was the son of God and if so, what that really meant and for arguing that MY God would never banish my Jewish friends to hell. This book addresses all of those issues and more. I don't think it encourages a person to abandon religion but simply to put it into a "bigger picture" perspective - to analyze what it means in the scope of becoming "who you truly are and who you were meant to be." Perhaps for some that can only be done through Christ, perhaps for others only through Muhammed or Buddah but the focus of this book is on the underlying reason for our existance and the meaning of our life experiences. I almost let out a sigh of relief as I thought, divinely inspired or not, there is at least one other person on this earth who feels spiritualy as I do and has been able to put it into words (something I have not been able to do). I found this book truly inspirational and plan to read it again and again.

Summary: Life changing read...
Review: Great book... Great book... Great book...

Thought provoking... Meaningful... Enlightening... Deep... Life changing...

Conversations with God makes sense and is very logical. God is in you. The relationship you have with Him is personal and different from everyone elses. I repeat... "Different from everyone elses."

It is up to YOU, with God's guidance, to change your life and to live in a more positive, enlightened, stress free, calm, happy, guilt free, confident and spiritual existence. All the tools are right there in front of you.

I feel many people will shun this book out of fear, but I truly believe that with an open mind and if you are honest with yourself, you will begin to see the light.

Give this book a chance and then judge for yourself. The key phrase is... "judge yourself", not others. Everyone in this planet is different and have their own special relationship with God, whatever it may be. Hopefully, people will learn to respect others and their decisions.

Enjoy.

Summary: Inconsistencies
Review: I could go on for quite a while about this book - in fact, I have, and I would do so again, but I am limited by space.

I cannot stress enough that this is by far one of the worst books I have ever read. As a novel, it is mediocre at best; as a tool for discovering God's character, it is made utterly useless by its inconsistency.

There is a prevalent belief that although Jesus Christ was not the Son of God, he was nevertheless a great man and a great teacher. But this is simply not the case. Jesus claimed repeatedly to be God, and such an outright lie is not the marking of a moral man. By rejecting the divinity of Jesus (not to mention his beliefs about Hell), but accepting his other teachings, this book commits a serious logical fallacy.

Furthermore, it states that John the Baptist was a messenger of God. But was not John the one who preached, "Repent, for the kingdom of Heaven is near?" And did he not also say that soon, a man greater than he would come to judge the living and the dead? Indeed, that was what he taught, but this book completely ignores that. If John was such a good messenger, why does Mr. Walsch so frivolously discard his message?

I cannot recommend this book to anyone, except as a challenge to his or her faith. It pretends that the world is something that it is not, and shows us a god who has denied his own word, as it was given to us by John the Baptist. What all-loving god would renege on his own word?

If you are looking for God, then keep looking. You won't find Him here.
