Summary: It's just a book.............
Review: God IS everything. God created everything. God talks to us through many books. This is just another one of them. It does not matter if the book was written 2000 years ago or today.

You do not have to believe or agree with everything in this book to enjoy it and learn from it. But you MUST keep an open mind and be ready to question (I said question NOT dismiss) what you have been taught about God up to now.

You can read the Bible, too, if you want. God is not asking you to choose one over the other.

Summary: BE A LIGHT UNTO THE DARKNESS
Review: I am a great fan of all the Walsch books. I also love to come online to look at all the reviews on this website, and even write one or two myself. I am especially heartened by those reviews which speak favorably of these books. In fact, I refuse to read a review with anything less than 5 stars any more. Perhaps this is my own judgementalness and intolerance creeping in...:) Unlike me, I doubt Jesus would have had a problem hearing about the beliefs of others...even those unlike his own. I am sure that he had a very small ego, and would not have been threatened simply by someone's differing point-of-view. To the contrary, Jesus would have embraced these contrary opinions, not rejected them. He understood that what the world really needed were voices of peace, and examples of tolerance and unconditional love. In the end, I must come to terms with my own contribution toward a more harmonious and joyful planet. I must ask myself the question..."Is mine a light that can truly light the world?"

Summary: TAKING A SENTANCE OUT OF CONTEXT
Review: is what all fundamentalism is about. This book has to read in its' entirety to understand the heart felt meanings and messages. This book opened my mind and made me look at deeper truths, even ones we don't want to hear, yet know are true. Just like when a parent tells you it would be more beneficial to do something one way, but everyone else is doing it the other way; YOU have to make a choice and accept responsibility for that choice. Read it a few times, and more and deeper meanings evolve. Although most of the reviews speak highly, the not-so-high reviews speak to closed-minded, fundamentalist, that wouldn't know how to actually think for themselves. Have they ever asked themselves the truly deep questions, or just go by what they've been told over and over again. I personally feel embarassed that I actually lived by such conflicting and contradictary principles, but 'hey' that's the way I was raised. Now I can look at the beauty of it all and don't feel upset with how life could go, because now, I do have a choice. I pray, talk, and listen to God. He's not the bad guy we've made her out to be. Now listen, if you can, and don't try to assign human attributes, such as jealousy, vengance, and anger to an all loving God. If you know how much you can love your child, you haven't even touched one-one/millionth of how much he loves you unconditionally, and you wouldn't send your child to hell, would you? But, that doesn't relieve you of your responsiblity for your actions, not punishment, but consequences; not anger, but understanding and he's there to help you. It's kinda of ironic, but even the pope, in 1999, declared that there is no hell, lest the one you make for yourself. Read the books, several times if you can, and your life will be enriched beyond words.

Summary: the birth of liberal religion and CWG
Review: I am a Unitarian/Universalist member, and yesterday I was reading some interesting accounts on the life of the church's founder...Michael Servetus. He lived 500 years ago in Europe, at a time when Martin Luther and the Reformation was taking shape in Europe. It was also a dangerous time when any opposition to the Catholic church could result in death at the hands of the Inquisition. Servetus had revolutionary ideas which flew in the face of religious dogma of the day, and published these controversial views for all to see. Needless to say, he immediately became a serious threat to the Catholic church. He was captured, but managed to escape from prison, and lived a number of years longer under an assumed name. Eventually, however, he was found out, arrested, tried, and convicted of heresy in Geneva. He was burned at the stake, and died a martyr for his beliefs.
Isn't it wonderful that we can read a book like Conversations with God, and not have to fear for our lives today? But, in another sense, isn't it frightening how little we have changed from those days when any voice of opposition had to be silenced, sometimes in the most brutal of ways?

Summary: Judging others is not the way
Review: As long as I have been reading reviews and ordering books from this site...today I felt compelled to add my 2 cents.--PEOPLE, please open your minds and realize that GOD is love. We all have a path and regardless of what one wants to believe that path can only lead to HIM. He is your creator and given whatever goodness or bad choices you make in this life, you will be brought back to him. Some are becoming to bogged down with dissecting that which is clearly misunderstood, but isn't it always easy to pick a part and focus soley on that. We or at least most of us know in our hearts and souls when something is against the betterment of humanity, be it lying, stealing, or murder so lets be realistic in the viewpoint that just because it it said that there is no right or wrong we can do ultimately what we would like. Whether a christian/spiritualist/ or members of other sect, there are laws of nature...get it WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND or for lack of a better word KARMA. I doubt very seriously if Mr. Walsch stated "ONLY READ MY BOOK" Do you not know that we are all given the gift to discern, to research...use our heads for much more than a hat rack. Umm, I wonder why GOD gave us a mind ; ). Lets stop judging and collectively strive for gaining more insight towards that which is inside of all of us. Even the bible tells us as does Walsch book and so many others (just in different ways) That we are created in his likeness...so what does that mean...I believe that a likeness is synonimous to having all that GOD has...no, I am not THE GOD in terms of creating the whole of the universe, but I am god in creating the universe that I am living in this world, by both my actions and my thoughts. I understand that some have to be dogmatic in their belief systems because this is the truth as they see it, but please don't judge or ridicule those of us who have faith that my and your creator leads me exactly to where I need to be, and that may come in the form of books, people, or angels...because the bottom line is that it is FAITH that guides me and allows me to be a believer in truth.

Summary: SELF HATING CHRISTIANS SEPERATE THEMSELVES FROM THE TRUTH.
Review: I've never written a review on any book but after reading many negative reviews on this one, I felt obliged to defend Mr. Walsch and his attempt to help his fellow man from mind deceptions that generations of non-thinking humans have forced upon us. Fortunately, most people understand the message of self-love and acceptance that are presented in these pages. I have noticed that the only negative thoughts are from "true" Christians. These people seem to feel they are superior in their knowledge of God and Christian truths and yet I am willing to bet if a prostitute, drug addict, sex addict, murderer, etc. were to ask them for help or try to join their churches, they would be shown the door and discard like refuse (not ALL Christians FEEL this way but their ACTIONS contradict their well-intentions). These types of "Christians" are the kind who think these "deviants" will corrupt their moral fiber, children, and their way of life in general when they in actuality are doing it themselves by teaching their children REJECTION and FEAR. It is irony at it's best that men who HATE evil, unconsciously impose it upon themselves and others because they commune only with others with their same beliefs. This is ALL about sustaining a COMFORT LEVEL and REJECTING REALITY. The reality is that not everyone understands the Bible and your actions make others NOT WANT TO SEARCH FOR GOD. You then call them lost children, doomed to wander "godless". You know they will be punished ONE DAY! Your beliefs are sad and almost comical. Fundamentalists, know this, YOU ARE the "godless" because you don't think for yourselves. I am a follower of Christ myself and ernestly seek to follow his teachings. These CWG books follow all of his teachings of love and acceptance. I find nothing deceptive in these pages. Mr. Walsch does have a conversation with "himself" and he never denies that fact, at the same time he realizes that he is part of something much bigger than himself, a force, a truth, a light, a God with many part and many manifestations. Many men have done this through history famous and not famous. Jesus was only one. Christians miss Christ's message by looking right past it, which is, YOU can be as I AM. This is done not by the blind following of the man himself but by soul searching and love "SINNERS" just as HE DID. Christians are the WEAKEST spiritually because they deny the human gift of exsistance and all of its pleasures which GOD has given us. The saddest thing is that the STRICT FUNDAMENTALS are the one who want the fleshly "SINS" the MOST!!! The non-fundamentalist does not obsess on these trivials but accepts the gifts which make life worth living. For example, I myself have never regretted a sexual experence immediately afterwards nor in hindsight. The man who regrets is the man who does not accept his humanity and HATES others who DO LOVE and ACCEPT themselves for "Who They Really Are" as Mr. Walsch puts it. Sex is only one example. This book breathes truths of a living God that is with us every hour of every day, in fact, He/It is us and we are He/It. Many of these fundamentalists don't think beyond their "box" because of FEAR, a limiting emotion that shuts down human sensitivities and seperates them from the human family which they HATE and call "EVIL". They are haters of MANKIND and teach their followers we are all born into SIN and not LOVE yet the Bible teaches that we and God are One. I see nothing in this book that contradicts Genesis' claim that we are made in God's image and likeness. We are His image because We are physical manifestations of Him. We are His likeness because We are Creators just as He is. The evidence that man-made religions are destructive is so clear and evident through history. "Christians" called the American-Indians pagans because they did not know Christ, even though these Indians shared their bread and land with them and never forced their God or culture upon the white men. These "followers" of Jesus Christ the "Only" Son of Man, in return, tricked the American Indian into forfeiting their land and when this didn't work they enslaved them or outright slaughtered them ALL IN THE NAME OF GOD and the PROMISE of a HOMELAND (they didn't see or understand the HOMELAND is our planet). Christians, this is only one example of your true history out of THOUSANDS, although the message of love is heard through your ears, your idea that you are seperate from God allows you to claim ignorance. The fact is, you choose to be ignorant. Christians the ETERNAL LIFE you seek is NOW not later. Quit seeking and hating your fellow men. You are as ignorant as they are. We all need to grow our CONSCIENCENESS together as a WHOLE and not as different parts. Neil Donald Walsch's book are an eye opener for any layman who is unhappy with himself. I earge any critic of these books to open his or her third eye and quit living your life in hope for DEATH to give you the paradise promised. Paradise is here on earth. The garden of eden can be ours if we all work together to restore it and love each other as Christ loved everyone. Fundamentals, I tell you this, you will never convert strong and loving humans, you will convert fearful, self-hating, power driven, weak-minded humans with superiority complexes. This is the true evil in our world because it claims to be TRUTH and is it's opposite. You will all self destruct and blow away like the wind that clears the path for people to see. YOU MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST think for yourselves! I beg you to re-evalute yourselves and love existance for the gift it really is. Thank you Mr. Walsch for being a voice for the common man and hopefully opening the eyes to a new millenium of humans with SELF-LOVE as our TRUTH. Without SELF-LOVE you are the embodiment of SELF-FEAR and ultimately, SELF-HATE.

Summary: Close-mindedness and misinterpretations
Review: I'm disappointed to see so many people out there are so close-minded, from Christians and non-Christians alike (at least you have something in common). I admit that some things (Hitler in heaven)are hard to swallow. Obviously Hitler would need to live a few hundred more lives to "get it right".
If you believe in God, can you answer why a loving God (we've all been taught God is Love) would create a Hell? He wouldn't.... Oh, I forgot, because the Bible said so. We know people never embellish and exaggerate stories, especially things that happened over 2000 years ago. Is it so hard to believe that Hell would be a totally human creation, meant to force people into believing. Remember the Inquisition?
It seems a lot of you have a problem with the lack of accountability for actions. Like we're all going to start
running around committing crimes since God doesn't mind. Gimme a break people. God say there is only one way to achieve total enlightenment. You must follow a certain path, which is the Good. I'm not about to do something "evil" because God won't mind, but I sure as hell don't feel guilty for sins I've committed in the past. That, to me, is a relief.
As far as the book goes, the repetitiveness annoyed me at times. I felt anyone with some common sense could extrapolate from previously given information to answer some of the questions asked. All in all though, it kept my attention and made me feel more human than I have in a long time.

Why now? Why not now? Is there anyone out there that doesn't believe this world is going to pot? If not, open your eyes and look around. Something needs to change. Only our collective effort will change the damage that's been done.
Peace to all of you....

Summary: Question Your Concept of a Higher Power
Review: An enjoyable, mind wringing book that makes one question his or her vision of a Higher Power. This book came along at a most opportune time in my life, when I was trying to decide what my understanding of my Higher Power was. So many of us accept the basic beliefs that are given to us by our parents, and rarely do we question these beliefs... but I guarantee that you would be asking some of the questions that the author asks "him" and you will be intrigued by "his" answers.

One thing this book surely does is forces readers to accept responsibility for their actions, and for their perceptions of the events in their lives. If you are not ready to accept this type of responsibility (I was!), then you might not enjoy this book. But if you are prepared to be thoroughly honest with yourself, then this book may be helpful to you in gaining a better understanding of yourself and what "God" really wants for you in this life.

Enjoy your journey!

Summary: What do some people expect?
Review: I was just sending a friend a link for "Conversations With God" and decided to read what other people thought of the series.

Not only is spirituality a living, breathing thing, it is also a concept . . . a perception. People were expecting a certificate of authenticity when reading this book? "This is God, and, yes, it's really Me!" Pffffffft. Come on people, some books are meant to be read as inspiration and as triggers to ignite the flame of truth within us all. What I find to be truth is not what others might find to be their own. I am a "Gnostic" and have studied spirituality and metaphysics for over 25 years. I have learned to read books such as "Conversations With God" for what they stir within me. Over the years, I have garnered what feels like truth to me in these books and have shelved the rest.

When I read this book, I laughed and I cried and it touched me more profoundly than any other book I've ever read. After all my studies over the years, it was such a blessing to have so many beliefs returned to me through the messages containted therein.
