Summary: a requird reading for all
Review: to say this work is the most inspirational one that i have ever read would be an understatement. it should be read whenever one feels like they need some sort of inspiration, especially in times of despair. through my entire life, i have looked to this story as my favorite, often reciting my favorite quote: "and when you want something, all the world conspires in helping you to achieve it." i have given this book out to friends as graduation presents or in times of need, and it has a special place in my life. i recommend it over any book i have ever read.

Summary: over-rated
Review: This incredibly over-rated book is a mixture of pure fantasy and mushy sentimentalism. It is more suited to children or to an American audience.

Summary: Just when I thought my eyes were open
Review: This small book reminding me more of A Childs bedtime story was given to me by a friend and ever second I had I read. It is a book so full of little things that make you think twice and than a third time. It will help anyone who is just "wondering" where they stand in their own life.. and would force anyone to take a step back and examine what they feel is their own life. I loved it from start to finish in my enjoyment of the simple words and deep meaning. I highly reccommend.

Summary: the most profound and inspirational books ive ever read
Review: This fable is unlike any story that i have ever read. Naturally, I dreaded reading this story for my sophomore english class, but it was a wonderful experience. being taken through the adventures of the intelligent and caring Santiago was very enjoyable. This book is highly recommended to people of any age.

Summary: Where Do You Want To Go Today?
Review: There isn't anything that I can say about this book that hasn't already been said. It is an amazing journey of a boy who sets off to follow his dream and find his Personal Legend. Never has a novel changed my way of viewing life as this one has. It will make you wake up and embrace the day that has been presented to you.

Summary: Must the Journey End?
Review:

The Alchemist was the first book by Coelho I read. Never knew who this man was till I picked up this title in a bookstore, but I knew right then in my hands was something of great value. It was love at first read, and Coelho has become an idol and mentor of sorts ever since.

In religious circles it is said that the spiritual journey is as important and tantalizing as the goal itself; and sometimes even more so. In the book Santiago's search for his treasure is fraught with surprises, uncertainties, challenges, and trials, but getting to his treasure is what this book is all about. Without them no story. So too in our own life ventures.

Somehow I felt a letdown when his dream fairy-tale-like ended. 'Arriving' is nothing compared to the suffering and excitement of getting there. So reading this book is like that spiritual adage which the book tries to convey as well. I arrived at the few remaining paragraphs with sadness. It was over. It was the closing of the book, of a fantasy, of a richly rewarding read. I wish the story could go on and on, that Santiago would have one adventure after another, always getting closer to his goal but never quite reaching it. For in his journey were so many lands and cultures to see, so many teachings, so many people to befriend and learn from, so many loves to cherish.

Coelho's works speak to our spirit and our soul, to a part of us that some pejoratively call our naiveté. Those who have been disillusioned and enthralled by Reason and who no longer believe in anything except the things they can see and touch won't appreciate Coelho's stories of Personal Legends and the heart's call, of angels' tidings and the Soul of the World. Yet for most of us who still bask in our childlike inheritance of imagination and fantasy and intuition, Coelho is an elixir in a world that adulthood daily turns into a dreary desert

Summary: Much ado about nothing
Review: There is nothing deep or profound about this very simple story. It is a fairy tale, a child's bedtime reading. It reminded me of a drugstore self-help book or The Celestine Prophecy, which is the same kind of pop psychology. What on earth is all the fuss about?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Inspirational
Review: The perfect read for someone in need of guidance, self-exploration and inspiration. Destiny will take hold of your heart and soul. A book that will change your life forever.

Summary: IT BROUGHT ME BACK TO SIMPLICITY
Review: Let's say you have to believe in dreams as a powerful tool to achieve goals and happiness to enjoy this book. It made me see life from a different point of view. It will be an awesome reading for those who believe and atribute value to feelings.
