Disfrutenlo mucho.... MAKTUB !!!

Summary: Simple words that can guide through life
Review: I've read many of Paulo Coelho's titles, like Brida, The Fifth Mountain, The Pilgrimage, By the River Piedra I Sat Down and Wept, and I'm currently reading Veronika Decides to Die. Of all these I found The Alquemist the most real and metaphoric piece of work about those invisible signs life puts before us, for us to follow and to find our treasures at the end of our journeys. Treasures that we think are material but the road leads us to other ways of understanding and looking at things differently.

The author has the capacity of describing perfect scenes and places he has been in, which takes the reader to imagine perfectly well the whole picture of what he/she is reading

They are all easy reading and you can't put them down. I would like to know why we don't have the spanish versions of The Valkyries, and would like to also mention that when these books are translated into english, they may sometimes loose their meaning.

Summary: No new insights here
Review: Not much to comment on--all of the insight/inspiration in this book could be found in a "successories" store. Very typical, somewhat overused tale, with fairly doofy writing. It is charming in its simplicity, but you can get advice like this anywhere. I couldn't believe how many times, in reviews and on the back cover, "follow your dreams" is said with a supposedly straight face. Great little fable for kids, just too shallow for me. Yes, indeed, I AM an American reader not captivated by this book, but I can see why many are.

Summary: A simple, profoundly moving story
Review: I have been unsure about college and majors for the past 6 months or so, when I read this book it allowed me to look introspectively at what I really wanted. This book is amazing, after reading it I feel that I can look more objectively at myself. I also listen to my heart more. This is a great, easy, quick read. Every single person on this earth should read this book.

Summary: This book is not for all.
Review: It's obvious that this book is not for everyone (especially the psychotherapist). I have not finished the book yet, but it has already givin me some insight to my own happyness. Like everything else in life we must take it with a grain of salt. I believe that in our society we are programmed and pressured to live within a certain lifestyle. Dress accordingly, eat the same foods, watch the same shows and pay for an education you could get from the public library. This book is about abandoning societies expectations and descovering ourselves. Finding the little omens in life to help guide ourselves to our own happyness. Not what we are supposed to do according to a few experts here and there. Tap into your heart and feel your youth. How many people burn out in there jobs and lives. The point of the book is to do what makes YOU happy. Not what society expects you to do.

Summary: A book for young and old
Review: This book has become one of my alltime favorites. I recommend it constantly to friends and families who enjoy spending time together, learning about the world and what it offers us. For anyone wandering this planet in search of a path, this book shows us it is at our feet, we need only pay attention and follow the omens to find our way. Reading this book together as a family would offer many an evening of rousing discussion. `
