Summary: A masterpiece!
Review: Lets try and make a critical approach to this piece of masterpiece. Because a masterpiece it is weather you enjoyed it or not, whether you like it or not. I am not going to start by saying what this book is about. This is the kind of book that is a lot of different things for a lot of people. To me it was a waste of 12 good reading hours, but I will come to this later.This is a story about growing-up, getting away, knowing the world, become wise and find "Ithaca". There is a boy that rebels to his destiny to be a shepherd and travels the world to see his "Personal Legend" and to achieve this he has to follow the "Signs" and hear the "voices" and feel the "Universal power" conspiring to help him. But where does this story stand next to the others of its kind?. How well does Sandiago much up to the rest of the wanderers in the history of literature? Take Homer's Ulysses for example who no-matter how well he knew that he was nothing but a pawn in the hands of the Gods he would still master all his human ingenuity, to actively change his situation going against the signs thrown on his way. Young Sandiago on the other hand, is a kid with a dream too, but unlike Ulysses carries his pathetic existence, from place to place, looking for signs, waiting miserably for whatever supernatural powers to claim his destiny. Like a real contemporary New Age hero... ....., uninspired, cliché, dangerous I would describe this book. And I strongly recommend NOT to read it if you haven't read beforehand, Homer, Dante, Newton, Kavafi, and the three fundamental laws of thermodynamics (don't be scared because its physics, they are in your year 10 science book somewhere in you old bookcase, they are 3 paragraphs altogether, and they make perfect sense, go on and read them, then you will see the real magic and wonder and what a unimaginably fantastic this world of ours is). And as Kavafi said " if you are out there to find Ithaca, you should wish that the trip is long and tough" because ultimately what really matters at the end is not Ithaca but the trip itself

Review: The Alchemist is best seller book. This book can give us the courage to dare our destiny and open a new doors in our life.This book made me think about my dreams and aspirations when I was young.I have three children all of them are teenages and I recomended the alchemist to them.

Summary: High on the cheese factor
Review: I found this short book disappointing. Although it was at times suspenseful, and there were some insightful moments, it was quite heavy-handed and condescending. The writing (a translation of course) is repetitive and feels like it was destined for someone who doesn't speak English very well. There are few characters, and they are not very well developed. If you like modern stories that don't preach or mention destiny, love, and courage every other paragraph, this book isn't for you.

Summary: A Great Book
Review: The Alchemist book was very interesting. It gave me lots of knowledge in dealing with life's daily challenges. Santiago went threw many different stages in life, which made the story the most interesting. Especially when he began his journey, thats what really made me get into the story the most. All the wierd people he met along the way, and the interesting people too. And also all the little details that occured along his journey, it made it very exciting.

Some time we feel frustrated because we don'nt gain some dream that we had, but we don't value the important things that we live day by day. Review: The Alchemist book is a interesting book about a fable presenting the pleasures and challenges of human life, It teaches us the possibilities of rewards and risks in a few stories with the essential wisdom of listening to our heart, and learning to read the omens scattered along life's path. Above all, it teaches us to follow our dreams and not forget God is always in our hearts. The value system of today's society is more liberal and selfish. For example, people are more involved in their own lives that they don't allow enough time for a spiritual life to dedicate time to help others. Some times people don't enjoy their family. Now there are more pressures in their daily lives. I hope that every one who had the opportunity of reading the Alchemist book will reflect on life and what's around this world.

Review: The book of the alchemist was very interesting.The book shows us how to take risks in life.My opinion of this wonderful book is that if we want to be a successful person, we have to follow the dreams what we have in mind. And if in the way are persons who told that you are crazy, don't take care of them. Its true that you going to pass for bad things but if you know what you really want in life. You have to do as the book says in your own way to meet your goals.Thats why I really like this book gives us some examples how life is complicated to become a successful person.

Review: I think the Alchemist book was great.It thought me alot off stuf about life. And I think the good thing about it is that he traveled too so many places.And in every place he learned something new. He had his goods and bad moments during his search for his treasure. Tis book change many of my decisions in life.
