Summary: This book altered my life - completely.
Review: I have been on a clutter-free mission since I read this book and I can't seem to get to the end of this journey fast enough. I thought my home was 90% clutter-free until Karen Kingston introduced an idea that if I haven't used an object, if I haven't repaired it, or if it hasn't given me great joy to see it (nor will it) then it's clutter and it binds my energy that would otherwise be flowing freely. I am able now to look at something and instantly know whether my energy is well served by it or not.

At least 200 books have been donated and there are potentially more on the chopping block. I have cleared my walls of custom-framed pictures that once warmed my heart but have long since lost their impact, every knick-knack that has no use for me is on its way to new owners and I feel explosively revitalized.

There was a moment before the first room became clutter-free and all the stuff was out for inspection that I was overwhelmed with the mess. Somehow the cover of the book (June 1999 edition) motivated me to have a leap of faith and continue with the process.

There are times when I'm torn between keeping an item or not but one 're-read' of an appropriate passage in Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui that clarity comes back in a flash.

It has been one serious week of tazmanian-style clutter-clearing and I give myself one more week before I can begin to invest my new-found energies on my ever increasing, profoundly moving, soulful dreams.

I am grateful beyond words.

Summary: Excellent and Inspiring
Review: One of my favorite Feng Shui books - and I have a lot of them. Good for beginners as well as adding some new (intuitive) ideas for experienced practitioners. I'm very organized, but as many, have difficulites ridding myself of unnecessary items. Using ideas in this book I was able to see my "stuff" in an entirely new light. I am buying a few extra copies for friends.

Summary: Excellent book; can't recommend it highly enough
Review: I've been working on clutter for years. Don Aslett, author of many books about it and cleaning in general, gets you motivated and able to laugh at yourself; but this book is equally wonderful in its own way, setting clutter into a larger, almost spiritual context. You truly see how (and why) it affects your life, and it also helps you to want to change it. Kingston writes in a simple but truthful manner that's very warm and understanding, but helps move you on to a higher plane: actually dealing with it. I got very motivated and cleared lots of clutter, thanks to this book. Once you read a book like Kingston's, basic "organize your space" books from professional organizers really seem to be dry, unaesthetic and uninteresting. Great book.

Summary: What a motivating book to get rid of your clutter!
Review: Karen Kingston really hits the nail on the head by explaining why and how we end up with all the stuff that we do. I found her easy writing style very enjoyable - I read the entire book in one evening!

I now understand what the influences in my life have been that caused me to keep all the stuff in my life - up until now. It is now much easier to let go of things so someone else may have the opportunity to enjoy its energy rather than being a negative energy in my life. Karen also gives very valuable guidelines to begin the process of de-cluttering our lives and dwellings.

If you wish to re-energize your life, this book is an excellent tool to start with.

Summary: Ready for a change? This book will get you moving!
Review: Excellent book! Karen Kingston writes with an easy, flowing style that conveys her personality -- warm, witty and down-to-earth. Beyond that, it's a book that will motivate you to clear the clutter in your life -- not because you should, but because the benefits are so compelling. Pick up a copy of this book; I highly recommend it!

Summary: Little gem of a book is humorous, insightful, inspiring.
Review: This is a little gem of a book! Karen Kingston is the only person I know who addresses the emotional aspects of clutter and why it can be so hard to do what we know we need to do. This book is liberally illustrated with examples from real life and is written in a bright and witty style that expresses Karen's warmth, insight and great humor. I read the book and when I finished I simply placed the bookmark in the beginning of the book and read it all over again. This book is inspiring. I have recommended it to several people and they say the same thing.

Summary: This book can change your life
Review: I have shared this book with all of my friends because I believe that it can transform our lives. We all have clutter that keeps us from living life to the fullest. This book addresses clutter not just on the physical level in our homes and offices, but also clutter of our bodies, minds and spirits. It is a very easy to read book and although it is a small book, it can make a very large impact on your life. Thank you for writing this book, Karen Kingston!

Summary: Don't let clutter ruin your life !! Let Karen help you !!
Review: This book has changed my life!!It is a must for anyone who has trouble keeping clutter under control!I am a reformed clutterholic!! I have been a hoarder my whole life since high school, but after karen explained everything with so much sense and understanding, its like she broke an evil spell. I have now almost clutter cleared my entire 4 bedroom house and I have never felt so free, happy and at peace with myself. Now instead of dreading my house because it is so messy,I love it. I am a Law graduate, a skeptic but I tell your this book really works. Since clutter clearing,I feel happier, my mind is clearer and my relationships have improved. Everything karen says in the book is true. She makes you laugh and then you want to clean up your mess. You can feel like she really cares about you. Her book helped me so much I even went to a seminar she held in London!!My husband was so shocked by the change in me he started reading the book and even went to the seminar with me. People who I have passed this book onto have all benefited. If junk and clutter has been haunting your life for long enough, then take action now...let Karen help you, it will be one of the best things you have ever done !!

Summary: Speaking of clutter clearing...
Review: The editor should have cleared a little clutter when publishing this book. I had to read through 7 chapters of the author puffing herself up with examples of her "successes" and telling us a bunch of stuff we already know (clutter is oppressive, reasons why we collect clutter, etc. DUH! I know that stuff and/or I don't care. I bought the book to find out what to _do_ about it!). Anyway, chapters 8 and 9 almost give some information on clutter in feng shui, chapters 16 and 17 actually suggest how to approach the decluttering task, and the rest is fluff. Beware - there is very little actual feng shui in this book, and only slightly more useful information on how to clear your clutter. There are even bonus chapters completely unrelated to either feng shui or clutter; instead they're on clearing out your colon and the like. In all, I found roughly 37 pages of the 166 actually useful. Talk about clutter!
