Rating: Summary: Peace Soup for the Seeker's Soul Review: Dr. Wayne Dyer does a great job of summarizing a life's work of self help into 10 concrete steps that can transform one's life. Because this is such a short and easy read, it may cause the reader to miss the depths of his message. Each chapter could really be it's own book if fully explored. I would definitely recommend this book, but would add it as a companion book to one of Deepak Chopra's books or Eckhart Tolle's "The Power of Now" to help really delve into what Dr. Dyer is sharing. I'm adding this to the "short stack" by the tub!
Rating: Summary: Simply, the Finest.... Review: Dr. Wayne Dyer has made significant contributions to advancing the course of peaceful, full lives through some wonderful writings. "10 Secrets" may be one of his best works to date. The power of this book lies not in the words, perse, for many of his thoughts in this book are buried in others of his treasures. The power of this book lies in combining these thoughts together towards a powerful result. Each secret is loaded with wise information, and each one is both independent but related on the others. Reading this book is like looking at a masterful weaving, you can admire the handiwork up close, as well as stepping far back and taking in the whole view. Another wonderful thing about this is in it's brevity. This is an easy book to sit down and read in one setting. The power is, however, to not read this book quickly, but deliberately. Dyer has so many important thoughts in each secret that it takes time and effort to ponder the depth of his sentences. I would advise you to read this book at least twice. First, read it all the way through. Upon that initial reading, you'll feel a tremendous, immediate sense of peace. Then, go back for further study, read, memorize, learn. It's impossible for me to state my favorite secret, for all of them really lend themselves to self-empowerment, and allowing me to take control of my life as I never thought possible. The book's style lends itself to looking like a book you'd just give someone for a gift. Look beyond that, and look for the honesty deep inside. Buy this book for yourself, and for any friend you know needs a little peace in their lives. It's worth the journey!

Rating: Summary: Spiritual Gift Review: Dr. Wayne Dyer is a man who is spiritually grounded and he shares his knowledge in this book. It was a good read and a quick one but one that you will go back to time and again.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I don't know how someone could read this book and not get at least one (if not 10) positive thing(s) from it. It has truly helped me reshape my way of thinking, and living and lifted me at a very sad time in my life.
Rating: Summary: This author has it figured out Review: I feel better, clearer and more thoughtful after reading this book. No matter how many of his books I read I learn more from each and new things about each topic.
Rating: Summary: Good but not original Review: i found this to be a good book .Full of useful information . yet i have read all this before , It is Eastern Philosophy . Buddhist and Hindu ,,, i have no idea why DR. Dyer did not give credit to Buddha ,,,,,for the non-attachment... live in the present chapters. if you you are not familar with eastern philosophy this will be a good book ,,,if you are you will be wondering as i did why you purchased it ,,as you already know what will be the next line. i reccomend awaken your Buddhist heart by lama Ram Das for a deeper spiritual movement
Rating: Summary: One of Wayne's Best Review: I love Wayne Dyer but I have to admit that some of his newer stuff isn't so easy for me to apply. However, once I read this book, I found that I could apply the techniques right away and get them working for me in my life. This is a refreshingly simply and easy to read book with all of life's answers. And, as always, Mr. Dyer creates that type of ambiance that makes you feel like everything's okay and that life is perfect. I highly recommend this book, especially if you've had trouble with other books he's written. This definitely puts it all into perspective in a very simple, well-written way.

Rating: Summary: As seen on PBS Review: If you take a minute to go through my other Amazon.com book reviews you may find surprising that I'm reviewing this book and actually giving it the maximum rate. But I was certainly caught by surprise one Sunday evening, already preparing for the long week ahead, when I turned on the TV and saw Dr. Dyer on PBS right on the beginning of his 10 Secrets special. I was riveted to my recliner and even found myself writing down the ten secrets as they were presented. Regrettably I didn't make the pledge that night that would help funding my local PBS station and as an appreciation gift would give me a copy of the book. But I kept thinking about the ten secrets and ended up buying the book. It took me just a few hours to read it for the first time and it was a very pleasant reading experience. Now I'm going trough it at a much slower pace taking time to reflect on every secret and trying to apply it to my daily life. Dr. Dyer transmits on the book the same serenity I had seen on TV. The book itself transmits good feelings with its cushion cover, pastel tone pages, and bugs and birds drawings. I tend to disagree with the title of ten secrets for success and inner peace. I would get rid of the success part since at least on my point of view success reminds me of the rat race, greediness, competition and getting rich at all costs. I would be happy only with the inner peace. I don't share Dr. Dyer religious beliefs but it doesn't really get in the way of enjoying this book. It's certainly a great gift for just about anybody and a great book to read over and over again. 5 well deserved stars. Leonardo Alves, Tucson Arizona, July 2002
