Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: a very different way of living Review: This book was highly recommended to me by a close friend, and it took me years before I actually felt 'ready' to read it. It is simple and easy to read, and the concepts seem simple, too, but it is not easy to put into practice. The book gave me a whole new perspective on how to look at things, but it is not an instant transformation. It is a book I feel I could read again and again, and reach new layers of understanding each time. The book left me a bit bewildered... what do I think now? how should I behave now? what do I really believe? It is thought-provoking, and potentially life altering, but I am not at the evolutionary stage where I can fully live his ideas. Very good to be exposed to them, however, because they do present options that, if followed, would truly transform your life.

Review: This book is GREAT at teaching people a good way to approach life, by living by the four agreements as specified in this book, and in my opinion; this book or something similar philosophy should be read by every troubled young person.I have a HUGE nitpick against this book. This book is being sold as a book to assist people in practising Shamanism, and in my opinion; "toward that effort; this book falls amazingly flat." If you want a great way to approach physical life; this philosophy id good. If you want to explore Shamanism; please go to my "about me" area, and see my assorted listmania lists such as "Shamanism, Indian, or Wicca" lists; Two_Bears. Wah doh Ogedoda (We give thanks Great Spirit).

Review: This is a wonderful book, and I think should be passed around in highschools to teach these principles at an early age. The beginning of the book wasn't very interesting (to me). If you can get past the first 15-10 pages, it's very, very good, and well worth the reading! I'm going to pass this book along to all my friends.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: I give one point , and I am sad to do so Review: The book is full of excellant advice. Not only that, but the authour also convinces you with those advices. You know when you where young people tell you to do things, but you they don't tell you why.The style is excllant and easy to follow. The advices are pricelss and will probably server you well for the rest of your life. You will need to keep the book though in order to look at it every once in a while. But with all this admiration, and respect I have for the book and the authour, why did I give him one point. Well, many people won't like this opinion, but I didn't like it when he said that you can have a small god and worship him (an idol). I am a believer in God, and I know that God doesn't need any idols to worship him, you can always talk to him directly. That was the only thing I didn't like in the book, and to me it is a major thing, but never the less the advice is excellant, and the book is great. I will certainly keep an eye for new books by the author. And I hope that God would guide him. I apologize if my comments were offending to some people, please accept my humble appologies, but that is my opinion. I have no grudges against any religion or any one, and I wish all the best. And I leave you in peace.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Heavenly Review: I love this book. Moreover, I gave it to my mother-in-law and she too agrees that the wisdom of "The Four Agreements" is profound. This book is a source of strength.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Great lessons that can help us all. Review: I read this book because I was intreasted in learning more about "Toltec Wisdom". Its short length didn't offer enough information. If you have been alive for more than 5 years, you don't need this book at all. It won't give you any wisdom unless you are extremely superficial.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Straightforward, simple, and reasonable Review: I've read a few self help books, and this one is both the best of the bunch and probably the last one I will need. The ideas behind the "agreements" are straightforward- four simple ways to change your everyday thinking and the way you interact with others. What I loved most about this book is that Don Miguel Ruiz makes it clear that transformation will *not* happen overnight, but is a gradual process. He acknowledges that changing one's outlook on life is a difficult thing, and won't always be a perfect journey. Also, he takes the time to reiterate every point he brings up. While some may see that as redundant, I appreciated it. Often, in these types of books, the authors bring up so many ideas that you can't keep track of everything suggested without a noteboook handy to write everything down. I read this book over the course of several evenings, and while I will probably read it again because it was so soothing, I honestly feel as if I have a grip on everything that was said within its pages. There is some mention of religion, but Ruiz covers a wide range of beliefs. I found that refreshing. I would definitely recommend this to everyone out there who'd like a firmer grip on their lives and the way things evolve for them. This is the first book whose principles I honestly believe I can apply to my life.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Quite Possibly The Best Book EVER Review: This book changed my life in so many ways. It is simple and straightforward and can help free the reader from his or her notions of Self simply by explaining them rationally. Why do we feel badly about ourselves? Can we improve, even after so many years of formation? Why do we let others hurt us with their words and deeds? Is there a way to not feel hurt when they do? Is there a way to love others the way we are meant to, and to be selfless, ultimately? The answer is: Yes. You do not have to be spiritual to learn from this book, just interested in knowledge. The world is a hard place in which to live, and those we encounter can have everything to do with the hardness and the pain. Buy this book and learn how to navigate the stormy waters...and emerge unscathed and whole. Peace.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Don Miguel Ruiz Review: "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz, is a book written in a simple philososphical style. Perhaps a philosophy that is easier to understand than any of the western thinkers. His use of words, sometimes is very repetitive which is what links one agreement to the next. I would recommend this book to other people if they want to get into the Toltec Thinking; it is simple but also a delighted one. This I would relate to Jean Paul Sartre in the sense that both talk about being. Sartre says you are not what you are, but you are what you will be. Ruiz talks about domestication of humanity, and by that domestication we became not what we were to be, but other than what we were to be. In the Four Agreements there is a lot of things to look at as true if we compare to what goes on in a society. However, there are things not to be taken extremely serious and the reader must free him/her self from that. Also it is a book for personal growth and maturity, especially if you are one of those who take things personal. Read this book and you will lear to be a better person.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Excellent Gift... Review: After reading this wonderful book in one sitting, I bought 6 of them to give as gifts. It's a very powerful book. It does tend to be redundant at times, but it helps to get the point across and help to remember.
