Rating: Summary: How a moment of childlike play evolved into SoulCards. Review: Deborah Koff-Chapin The Genesis of SoulCards Deborah Koff-Chapin In 1974, I discovered Touch Drawing in a moment of playful exploration. When touching a paper towel which had been placed on a freshly inked printing plate, I found that the pressure formed lines on the underside. Lines coming directly from my fingertips! I laughed hysterically with this discovery. In a state of ecstatic revelation, childlike images poured from my hands. Although this experience had the appearance of simple play, under the surface was something profound and powerful. It was as if I was receiving a gift from outside of time, from an invisible, knowing presence. Over time, I began to tap into this presence as I drew. In deep focus and trust, I listen within and translate subtle impulses onto the page through the touch of my fingertips. As my work with Touch Drawing ripened, I felt called to make these images accessible for deep reflection and inspiration. This took the form of SoulCards, a collection of 60 full color Touch Drawings. The force of manifestation was so strong that I published them myself within a few months time. The response has been deeply gratifying. People are using them as creative catalysts, divination tools, in groups, with therapists and even with Feng Shui! If you want to try Touch Drawing yourself, my book Drawing Out Your Soul: The Touch Drawing Handbook will give you all the information you need. We also have video and audiotapes, materials kits and are developing a network of Touch Drawing practitioners. Who knows what the future will unfold!
Rating: Summary: An Incredible Surprise! Review: I bought this deck because an on line group was working with the cards and I was enjoying the conversation. I was apprehensive about the cards, but once they were in-hand I was delighted. Any on line pictures cannot do the artwork justice. It was a delight to "break out of" using tarot cards that have many preconceived ideas locked into them that are hard to expand on. I use these cards to explore my consciousness, and for divination/insight. The images draw out your natural ability to be intuitive. Absolutely fabulous, and I'll be purchasing Soul Cards 2 soon to expand the possibilities!
Rating: Summary: Helps with Unblock Review: I find that this deck, unusual that it is not ordered in traditional "tarot suits", is excellent for unblocking our intuition by getting rid of our preconceptions that may come with order and language given to tarot cards. Even though I don't use this deck for divination, I have written many short proses using these cards and they are excellent tools for creative inspiration.
Rating: Summary: A wonderful tool for self knowledge and exploration Review: I use these cards personally and in groups. I like that there is no booklet telling me what each card 'means'. I have the opportunity to explore the gestalt of what the cards evoke in me. I have combined these cards, movement and collage making to create a fulfilling workshop experience. Thank you Deborah for your beautiful, deep, inspiring work!

Rating: Summary: Touch drawing help you touch your psychic center Review: The process of "touch drawing" is explained in the booklet that comes with the deck. You will find no major or minor arcana, and the images are not traditional anything. This deck works purely by your intuition, and the process of 'touch drawing' renders patterns and colors that will lead you to find new meanings each time you look at the cards. Don't look for a book to give you assistance; it doesn't have one. That may challenge some card readers new to interpreting by their own intuition, but it's very rewarding once you try. Works with any amount of cards, in any spread. This works well for accessing both the dark and light sides of a person, and can be used with past life spreads as well as looking toward future goals. A good psychic/intuitive development tool.
Rating: Summary: My method Review: The way I added meaning to these cards was by having people pick their favorite card and telling me what it meant. I've found that each person is able to tell me something about the card that I couldn't see before. I now have tenantive meanings for almost all of the cards and I find it really helpful for actually doing readings with them.
Rating: Summary: I fell in love with this deck on sight. Review: This 60 cards deck has become one of my favourites instantly - the cards touch the soul and speak with it directly. The accompanying tiny white book doesnt list any titles or meanings to the cards - the pictures are intuitively understood, somehow their meaning is self-explanatory/evident. The cards themselves are of the highest quality I've seen yet - good cardboard with shining coating that, in combination with the excellent art, are, IMO, good enough to be hanged on an art gallery's wall. The cards can be used for both reflection and divination, and I almost immediately started using it for myself in place of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck. The one small thing I dont like about this deck is it's somewhat dark colours, which gave a couple of my friends a first impression of being, well, somewhat dark and scary. The box, which is of good material, doesnt have any mechanism to keep it closed, so I keep the cover closed with a ruber band. And a clarification - this is not a tarot deck proper, as it appears that some reviewers expect of it to be. Though some of the cards are comparable to tarot cards, it does not derive from the 78 cards tarot decks, doesnt have suits or minor/major arcanas.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring images help you tap your own inner resources Review: This exquisite card deck with sixty 4"x5" full-color images presents an evocative and inspiring panorama of the human soul. The images of SoulCards have a deeply universal quality that makes this deck accesible to an unusually broad audience. Even children are fascinated with their imagery. There is no complex system to learn. The 36-page manual guides one into their own relationship with the images through various creative processes including: story-telling, visualization, dream incubation, and using the cards in groups and relationships. SoulCards is unique because it relies purely on the visual power of the images and does not offer interpretations, thereby empowering users to trust their own insight. SoulCards feed a deep hunger for images of the soul, and meet a maturing audience ready to turn inward for answers to life's questions. SoulCards is a best-selling selection of Book of the Month Club's One Spirit Review. SoulCards have sold over 28,000 since their release in the fall of 1995. As of spring 1998, they are also published in multiple languages (French, German, Spanish, Czech, English) and distributed worldwide through AGM AGMŸller, the world's largest producer of esoteric card decks.
