Rating: Summary: Thank you for making Tarot of the Spirit a bestseller. Review: Creating the Tarot of the Spirit was a 7 year project. We spent numerous years studying qabalah and tarot. Then we entered the Great Mystery, wrote and painted. It was a magnificent and humbling experience full of surprises and great insights. We trust your journey into the Tarot of the Spirit will be as rich as ours was. Wishing you the Greatest Blessings on your spiritual path.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely the most EXQUISITE TAROT DECK in existence Review: Joyce Eakins is truly masterful in her rendering of the complex qabalistic symbology of the tarot. A finer Tarot Deck was never painted during any historical period. Tarot of the Spirit is a must have for any collector or for anyone exploring deep psychological and mystical symbolism.
Rating: Summary: Truly Wonderful for all levels of ability. Review: The deck is beautiful, the symbolism easy to read. I have used this deck as my deck to read others with for years. I've even worn one deck out and had to purchase another and soon my second deck will have to be replaced! This deck is great for beginners as there is a key word on each of the Minor Arcana. I don't know why the one reviewer gave it such a bad rating.... don't they know art is subjective? If you like watercolors, you'll love this deck.
Rating: Summary: This is a wounderful Tarot deck vivid & colorfull Review: The style of the deck is unusual, but not nearly as bad as the other reviewer suggests. Of course, art is subjective. I find the artwork evocative of the author's interpretation, some of the images aiding my meditations quite well. I recommend an open-minded approach to the deck. Having said that, I admit that I am not thrilled with all of the artist's choices, but I've yet to find a deck whose images were all to my taste.I have found the book to be one of the best references to a Qabalistic view of Tarot. It includes a brief overview of the Tree of Life and maps the cards of the Tarot to it. Each suit is introduced with a discussion of its associated element. Following that, each card is described with associated suggested interpretation, meditation, and discussion of its place in the overall scheme. I highly recommend it, whatever deck one uses.
Rating: Summary: Good Deck, Excellent Book Review: The style of the deck is unusual, but not nearly as bad as the other reviewer suggests. Of course, art is subjective. Rating: Summary: Deep, intelligent, and beautiful Review: This deck and the accompanying book are the most profound I have found. I had given up on tarot because the most commonly used decks and books are so materially oriented, mostly interested in money, health, and romance. This deck and book set, however, is both intelligent and spiritually wise. I was a scientist before I retired to explore art and spirituality, and it is a rare book that does not seem naive in one or more of these dimension. Thank you, Pamela and Joyce.
Rating: Summary: Truely hideous artwork Review: This is the worst looking tarot deck I've seen in years. I give it 1 star only because that's as low as the ratings go. The artwork is unattractive at best. Major problems I have with it include: 1) the high priestess looks like a man, 2) the Heirophant looks like a woman, 3) the "humanoid" charachters have been stripped of their sexuality, 4) a Magen David on every other card (it really gets old fast), 5) lame geographic symbols on the minor arcana suggesting that the artist ran out of ideas and had to beat a deadline. If you are a colorblind Jewish woman hater, then this could be your deck. Otherwise, get a real good look at it before you buy.
Rating: Summary: This is a wounderful Tarot deck vivid & colorfull Review: This tarot deck is masterfully painted in such a way that the pictures seem more spirit than flesh. This deck is not comprised of exact sterotypical images but flowing figures wich the name sugests. Earth, Air, Fire, & Water replace the typical Disk,Sword, Wand, & Cups. A singel word discription is tastefully writen at the bottom of each card wich is quite helpfull. Some ( very few) of the images seem quickly drawn but all are well painted. All and all this is a great deck. The art is quite undeserving of such malace that other reviews sugest.
