Rating: Summary: Not too creepy Review: I did stay up reading the whole book, in bed with the lights on and plenty of junk food. Leslie is researched and writes in a compasionate, personable, and simplistic manner. She brings the paranormal extraordinary experiences of ghostly encounters into the normal and everyday. There were a few "already done" stories with a new slant, mixed amongst many new and true paranormal experiences. The stories are not too creepy, and could be read by older children.

Rating: Summary: A great read, highly enjoyable Review: I really enjoyed Leslie's book on ghosts. The way she tells the stories is very realistic as to how it is for those of us who read these books and then go looking for the ghosts they talk about. In this book she is taking us along on her adventures and in many instances gives the phone number to call and make reservations for ourselves, which is very nice because many times the ghost books tend to keep the location a secret. I very much look forward to any future books she may write.
Rating: Summary: Good ghost reading Review: I really liked Leslie Rule's Coast to Coast Ghosts. Makes me want to visit the places she's investigated. Look forward to reading more of her work. Good personal writing style.
Rating: Summary: Should have been titled "Leslie Rule's Encounters w/Ghosts" Review: If you want to know about the hauntings in Leslie Rule's life, buy this book! For not wanting to write about herself, Leslie sure seems to enjoy writing about herself. I was sucked in by the photograph on the cover of the book. Leslie Rule DOES know how to take a photo (the spookiest thing about this book are some of the photographs). But, they certainly don't merit the price of the book. Leave this one behind, kind reader.
Rating: Summary: A good variety of stories, but a little lacking on depth Review: In her forward to her daughter's book, Ann Rule comments that "When Leslie was a child, I read through all the library shelves in search of 'ghost books' avidly. My only complaint was that the stories were vague and had a sense of urban legend about them. Many of the books had the same stories, repeated endlessly, slightly changed, and I began to doubt their authenticity. When a grown-up Leslie told me she was going to research real ghost stories, I was enthusiastic about the project." This book's greatest strength is in the variety of stories, many (possibly most) of which have not appeared in print. When Leslie Rule does investigate a more famous place, she searches for the unusual, for more information, or for examples of personal experiences, including her own. This in itself makes it worth at least reviewing the book. Unfortunately, those of us hungry for information will not for the most part be satisfied by the depth of each story - in many cases, it was like watching a news program or a TV show because the commercial promised coverage over a topic you're really interested in, only to find that most of the information was given in the 20-second preview before the show started. I was a little put off by some of the interviews conducted by Rule because (at least, based on what she included in her text) in most cases, she clearly led the interviewee in the direction of an answer (particularly when talking with Nancy Myer, the psychic). That said, I hope that this isn't Leslie Rule's last attempt at ghost-story-telling. She has a gift for finding stories; many of us just need more details.
Rating: Summary: I can't stop reading COAST TO COAST GHOSTS! Review: Just started Leslie Rule's fabulous book and I am *hooked*! These ghost stories are like potato chips: you can't read just one. I know I'll have trouble falling asleep tonight: it'll be delicious. Can't wait to read her next book! Now, I'd better stop reading at work before I get fired!
Rating: Summary: Great Variety of Haunting Experiences Review: Leslie did a wonderful job of giving the reader not only true ghost stories, but a great variety of them, in differing catagories and from many points of view. I contributed one of my own, and she has included it in her book , (the haunted piano on page 212. I have always been a fan and an avid reader of true ghost stories as a child into my adult years. This is one of the best compiled grouping I have come across. Eileen Smith Betancourt
Rating: Summary: Should have been titled "Leslie Rule's Encounters w/Ghosts" Review: Leslie Rule has put together a wonderful collection of ghost stories that are indeed collected from, Coast to Coast." The author obviously inherited her mother's writing ability for her style is engrossing and she has taken the time to investigate her stories. I would guess that several years and thousands of miles went into collecting these stories. It is also a plus that the author fully believes in her subject matter and includes several of her own paranormal experiences in this book. The stories are a little short on depth and detail but still the stories are very engaging and believable. I was delighted to see that the author had done some investigating of her own on the Whaley House in San Diego and had discovered that the haunting there might not be as clean and neat as it is packaged to be. The author includes a story from her husband concerning the Myrtles Plantation in Louisiana, a haunting of which I have always been skeptical. In fact, a major ghost hunting society has recently announced its doubts about the Myrtles. No matter the ghost hunters or my doubts, the Myrtles ghost or ghosts seem to have convinced Leslie's husband Kevin. Any ghost story aficionado will want this book in their collection. What it lacks in depth it makes up for in feeling. I hope that this is not Leslie Rule's last offering of ghost tales for I enjoyed it immensely.
