Summary: superb storytelling style
Review: "Coast to Coast Ghosts" will draw you in immediately with Leslie Rule's easy, conversational style and with the dramatic pictures she took at various haunted sites all over the US. If you take the attitude, "There ain't no such thing as a ghost", Rule's book may make you re-examine your thinking. Remember that a corollary of Einstein's breakthrough relativity theory is that time and space are not linear; instead they are relative to each other, and linked in ways that are yet beyond our understanding.
Both fun and fascinating, this book is a marvelous addition to the literature of the paranomal in America. Skeptics will be intrigued, and believers will be delighted. Highly recommended!

Summary: Good writer like her mother
Review: Ann Rule is a good writer. Looks to me like her daughter is following in her footsteps. My wife bought this one for me as a gift. We both loved it. It is so interesting.

Summary: A GENEROUS DOSE OF EERIE ENTERTAINMENT!
Review: COAST TO COAST GHOSTS is an intriguing collection of tales focusing on various haunted locations throughout the country. Leslie Rule is a wonderful storyteller, and her sometimes conversational style draws you in and makes you feel as though you're right there with her. She has done her homework on these hauntings, and it certainly shows. The time and research she has put into these stories add a dimension of realism not often found in this genre.

COAST TO COAST GHOSTS is chilling, entertaining and informative. Striking photos taken by the author add the crowning touch! No collection of ghost books would be complete without COAST TO COAST GHOSTS!

Summary: Chilled to the bone!
Review: COAST TO COAST GHOSTS kept me turning the pages well into the morning's wee hours! The chilling and fascinating accounts that Ms. Rule chronicled were like no others I've read. I was especially impressed with her thorough research. For instance, Rule uncovered the scandal behind the famed haunted San Diego Whaley House--a scandal that so shocked the museum curators that they have kept it hidden from the public for over a century. Rule gave detailed reports on the shocking events, along with identitfying a new Whaley ghost! (I won't spoil the suspense!)

As for the photography! Superb! I've been following Leslie Rule's work for years as her courtroom photography appeared in the books of her mother (True crime author Ann Rule).

All I can say is I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE SEQUEL!!!

Summary: Thought Provoking
Review: First I was intrigued by the cover of Coast To Coast Ghosts. Anyone else notice the ghostly face in the upper left hand corner? It seems that Leslie Rule's cover photo caught an apparition watching her take this astonishing picture, a precursor to an even more amazing book. I found myself devouring each chapter, telling myself that I had time to read one more even though I neglected work, shopping and sleep. A compelling read!

And be sure to read I AM GHOST, Leslie Rule's wonderful poem at the beginning of the book. An insightful glimpse of the author?

I highly recommend this book!

Review: First-rate author Leslie Rule narrates one true ghostly ncounter after another in this fascinating read! Leslie's personal experiences have given her an added insight into her spellbinding subject. Her empathy for others who have experienced unexplainable events and her ability to make

Summary: GREAT FOR LIGHT, CASUAL READING
Review: Forget any reviews awarding this fewer than four stars. You will enjoy this book! Leslie has obviously inherited the talent of her mother, famous true-crime writer Ann Rule. There are quite a few stories here. Some are entertaining rehashes of well known and previously published accounts. I was particularly interested in Ms. Rules personal encounter with The Myrtles Plantation in St. Francisville, Louisiana. I've visited several times and she is right on the money - didn't see any ghosts, but the history and atmosphere of the place is very spooky. The Myrtles is supposedly the thirteenth most haunted place in the USA and has been featured in several documentaries. Oprah Winfrey's staff once visited to do a little preliminary research and filming for her show and left much earlier than planned! This book is an easy read, almost conversational. You feel like you're sitting at the kitchen table with her having coffee and trading ghostly tales. The format is great with numerous little sidebars and boxes offering tidbits of info. In addition we are treated to b/w photos taken by the author, who is also a professional photographer. Some of her shots are whimsical and a few (see front cover) are breathtaking in their creativity and beauty. My one complaint is that either the printing or the quality of the paper does not do justice to some of the photos. Some are just too dark to be fully appreciated. If you are a purist who seeks detailed indexes full of scientific backup, or if you prefer your hauntings served up with lots of gore, this book isn't for you. For the rest of us it's an appealing way to spend a lazy afternoon.

Summary: Make that TEN stars!
Review: Had to write again because I spent all evening yesterday curled up with COAST TO COAST GHOSTS, and was spooked and jumpy for the rest of the night!
Can't wait to read more of Ms. Rule's stuff...

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Cheers, not boos
Review: How refreshing -- here is a book that takes on dozens of tales of hauntings in a straightforward, reporter-like manner. No cheap, childish scare tactics here -- just a set of well-researched, well-written accounts by an intelligent believer.
While I would recommend this book to anyone interested in ghost stories, I would particularly recommend it to those who have had contact with strange phenomena. Rule demystifies much of the woo-woo surrounding most ghost sightings, even providing checklists so the reader knows if a sighting is a bona fide ghost.
The cumulative effect is, of course, scary, all the more so because these are very, very plausible tales!
