Summary: Hugely Helpful
Review: I think if the history books I studied in school had been asinteresting and even-handed as this one, I'd have aced every historycourse I took. I really like the unbiased way the authors present their admittedly exotic material. There's always the possibility for confusing "presentation" with "endorsement." (See review below.) But if you're awake when you read the book, you not only won't have that problem, you'll actually enjoy it. History is only a small part of this hugely helpful "textbook." Read and heed the life-enhancing exercises, (as I and my family did) and you'll find that before you know it, you'll be writing a wonderful new chapter in your personal history.

Summary: Even better the second time around.
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful ride through the world of the paranormal. And after reading it again, I have to admit I enjoyed it even more. This book is so richly strewn with fascinating factoids and useful advice, it actually seems to sparkle. But maybe that's the result of Lynn Robinson's wit and wisdom. She obviously knows whereof she writes, and she delivers the goods with authority and charm. If you haven't read it yet, you're in for a treat. If you HAVE read it, I urge you to read it again. It's even better the second time around.

Summary: Great Book Discovered In Orange
Review: I'm absolutely astonished! How did a book this good get a title this idiotic? Being Psychic is simply the best of its kind, and even though it seems to be selling well according to your ranking system, it should be flying off the shelves into the hands and minds of all the people I know who are yearning for a book this good on a subject this exotic. Yearn no more, friends. You've found the book and it is orange. In fact, it's been right there in front of you since January of 99, but you haven't picked it up because of its orange-ness and its title. I strongly urge you to locate the book, squint your eyes, grab it off the shelf and go directly to the cashier, after which you can rip off the offending cover and dig into some of the best, most informative, and yes -- most entertaining -- writing you've ever read on being psychic. I totally agree with the reviewer who said he or she enjoyed it even more the second time around. Am I a fan of this book? Yes. Do I want to share the riches that are in this book? Yes. Will you really enjoy this book that can actually enhance your life in surprising ways? Well, as it says on the back cover -- "You're no idiot..." Which is another way of saying "Forget the title, ignore the color, and buy the book." You're gonna love it.

Summary: An informative book to help you develop your psychic skills!
Review: I've never had to write a review for my own book before. What an opportunity! After writing the almost 400 page "Complete Idiot's Guide to Being Psychic" with my co-author, LaVonne Carlson-Finnerty, I may not have any more to say! But, here goes - as it states on the back cover, "You're no idiot," but it's a great name for a thoroughly entertaining, highly informative primer. You'll learn about the different types of psychic insight, the body-mind-spirit connection, the basic facts about intuitive ability, how to get in touch with your own inner guide, as well as tips on using your dreams as a rich intuitive resource. There's also a section on what scientists and psychologists have to say about being psychic, and much, much more. There's plenty to ponder for just about everyone who wants to learn how to deepen their intuitive insights and sharpen their psychic skills.

Summary: A gem of a book!
Review: I've read a lot of books on this subject, and I've been disappointed a lot of times. But this one is different. It's well written, well researched, and well worth owning. It's fascinating, extremely helpful in a down-to-earth way, and totally enjoyable to read. Given its unusual excellence, I can't figure out why Oprah hasn't made it one of her "Picks" yet. Probably has something to do with the title. Don't let that stop you, though. Do yourself a big favor and treat yourself -- and your psyche -- to this gem of a book.

Summary: Idiots and psychics just dont mix
Review: If a book is marketed for idiots and aimed at idiots what would make anyone of average intelligence buy it? This book tries to re-define being psychic as being a good guesser and says the traditional mind reading view of a psychic is unrealistic. I had to put this book down after the first few chapters because it was just too hard to stomach all that garbage in one sitting. I eventually read the rest of the book and lets just say my opinion didn't change much. This book is for the complete beginer, anyone who's ever read any other book on being psychic need not even try to get anything new out of this one. All i would recomend it for is a good referance book that has alot of subjects crammed into one book but not much information on any of them. pluss the whole book has this underlying tone of peace, love, happiness, and god worship that i just dont think mixes with the general attitude i have as a psychic. most of the methods involve the stereotipical "envision the soothing white light surrounding you" advice and promote the idea that one cannot develop psychic powers without a spirit guide and love for all things. if you are serious about wanting to be psychic, this book will only give you bad habbits and worse ideas about what to do. and this isn't to mention the shameless plugs of other books in the idiot's series they work into the text and the fact that most of the web links in the referance sections are out dated or moved. bottom line, you'd have a better chance of developing psychic abilities if you stood in a field holding a golf club and waiting for lightning to hit you.

In a down-to-earth and easy to grasp manner, Lynn decodes the confusion about your innate psychic ability and gives you tools and inspiration to tap into your inner guide. Bravo for handing us this guidebook to help us mine our inner resources and harvest the ability to change our lives and manifest our dreams.

Summary: Cleaver
Review: Lynn Robinson is quite the cleaver writer and is able to break down the psychic phenomena for all those "Green" psychics opening up their Indigo vision (aka third eye). Fun and informative. It's no wonder Robinson is one of three psychics in the world I recommend all my friends and associates to.
