Rating: Summary: The truth is out there... Review: and it is in this hysterical and oh-so-true book. I literally fell of my chair laughing when I read it and barely sobered up when I realized how dead-on she is in her descriptions of the signs. The book is not technical, so it didn't matter that I know practically nothing about astrology. I showed it to a few friends who, after much chuckling and a little grumbling, admitted that Cooper is right. It's a great primer for dealing with people. Be aware that some of the content is PG-13, but nothing worse than you hear on evening TV.
Rating: Summary: The Truth is Out There Review: Astrology books are normally not read cover to cover, but in starts and stops according to the signs of spouses, friends, family, co-workers and acquaintences. The reader of Born on a Rotten Day will be telling everyone that someone finally got it right. All, of course, except for the reader's sign, which must be fiction. Yeah, right. Born on a Rotten Day is falling down funny, and if tears don't come to your eyes, no matter whose sign you are reading, you haven't been paying attention. In the vein that truth is always funnier than fiction, this book is genuinely hilarious. Buy it, read it, tell everyone you know about it. You won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: The other side of signs! Review: Born on a Rotten Day makes astrology so much more fun than those standards books that are found in the line at the grocery store. This book all-out unleashes every negative aspect of every sign in the most hilarious manner. It's not only good for laughs, but it offers helpful tips in dealing with a not-so-pleasant sign, and a way to gaslight a person if you want to get rid of them. Good to pull out whenever you're angry at someone. The book also includes sections under each sign for your evil co-workers, your parents, and even yourself.
Rating: Summary: I laughed aloud -- except when I read about my sign Review: Everyone who's read Born on a Rotten Day says the same thing. "It's brilliant, except for the part about my sign." True, this is a scarily right-on book. More than that, it's some of the best writing I've read in a long, long time. If you want to laugh, to learn what the stars say about you or your significant, or if you'd just like to admire the craft of a talented, over-the-top writer, you can't do better than Hazel Dixon-Cooper. Laugh your way through this, her first book, and you'll understand why Dixon-Cooper was selected as Cosmo's new Bedside Astrologer--and why her many fans are waiting for the next Rotten Day book -- and the next. I'm recommending Born On A Rotten Day to all of my friends -- whatever their signs -- and to every writer who wants to learn more about the craft and skill of crafting humorous nonfiction. --Bonnie Hearn Hill http//:www.bonniehearn.com
Rating: Summary: Let your Grouch out! Review: Hazel Dixon-Cooper, a member of the American Federation of Astrologers, has whipped-up a witty & telling indictment of just how manipulative & aggressive we all can be - no matter what our sign. It's rather relieving to find your favorite people's signs & read up on what grouches they can be. After you've laughed at them, take a look at your own! Each sign has a worst-case headline, followed by some academic data before serving up tasty morsels such as Dream Job & Key Phrases. Onto "Approach with Caution" & "If You Love One - Man...Woman"; "If You Are One..."; "It's All Relative" - family; "Office Party" - work relationships; "Can't We All Get Along?" & "Tips for Emergencies," ending with a list of infamous grouches born under each sign. The dark side of the Zodiac has long needed such illumination - all monsters become less fearsome in the bright light of humor, & those upbeat booklets we consume at the checkout stands, do need a reality check. BORN ON A ROTTEN DAY fits the bill nicely!

Rating: Summary: Hilarious look at astrology! Scarily accurate.... Review: I bought this book out of curiosity. I already own a number of astrology books, and needed something with a more "light" touch. Well, I have to say, this book made me laugh, and laugh, and laugh! I will be one of the first to admit, that the author pretty much described the "dark side" of my zodiac sign to a "t"! I have shared several excerpts of this book with my friends, and they all agreed with the descriptions of their signs (after much howling and peals of laughter!) I recommend this book to anyone who likes astrology and humor.
Rating: Summary: By far the greatest laugh and truth! Review: I can't say enough good things about this Book. I Laughed and Laughed at how true each sign was presented! This is a must have to any zodiac lover! Virgo is the best!
Rating: Summary: Quite Funny (and True?) Review: I have been reading astrology books for many years now and, while many of them touch upon the darker sides of each sign, none do it with quite the same humor as this book. This book was a Cosmo recommendation, and I found that the book doesn't mince words and really "tells it like it is." Some people might not agree with how their sign is represented, but then again, aren't they just expressing typical traits of their sign? Anyhow.. I read through all of the signs and their "darker " traits and found that the information was the same as you would find in many other astrology books, but with descriptions that are more forceful and lengthy. The book really does focus on the darker traits and says very few positive things about each sign. The writing is focused on unearthing the 'red flags' associated with each sign, and I honestly agreed with some of the negative traits of my own sign. It's not an academic book or even close.. it's a fun read and makes a great gift.
Rating: Summary: Getting to know you... Review: I never really thought about astrology except knowing my sign until a friend showed me this book. Wow! She really got me and from what I can see others also. I realized why I avoid Saggitarius and get along with Leos. I've read the signs for most everyone I know and the book is really accurate. Hope she'll write more.
