Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is a GREAT book putting pictures to biblical stories Review: I highly recommend this book and to take a look at his website www.bricktestament.com for insight into the bible. From other reviews posted here, I can see many are living judgmental lives in the misunderstanding of their convicted faith. Good principles are tainted by inherent flaws in the man-made institution of Christian religion (i.e. a call to blind faith and ignorance. The stubborn self-righteous ideology that only you are right, no matter what, that has led to innumerable persecutions, genocide and prejudice). THIS is what this book is about. The violence and gruesome depiction here? OPEN YOUR EYES, this is exactly what is said in the bible. No imposed opinion or bias. You might be surprised. Well, surprise! The bible was written by men, not God. This book is not meant to teach Christianity to children, it's meant to teach truth and tolerance to the ignorant. Please, everyone, stop accepting this judgmental view as a corner stone of faith. Let the good ideas just be good ideas. Think for yourselves and you will discover an affinity for morality and who God really is.

I played with them endlessly with my brother. We kept the Legos, even though they were rugged and had bite marks from my brother, but when we sold our house, we decided to sell them as well. Bad mistake! By seeing this book, you can just imagine how creative you can be! I really regret selling those Legos, only after selling them did I think about the great things I can do with them. And we had the originals, they had the Lego logo and everything. And the worst part was, we sold a whole tinful of the Legos for only $7!!! I was so angry with myself. Ebay can sell it for hundreds! Too bad...Regardless, this is a wonderful book to have. It makes me want to go out there and buy the original Legos and have some fun of my own~!
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Some controversial stories from Genesis looking pretty cute Review: I've looked through most of Brendan Powell Smith's Bible stories on his website and basically they involve some impressive Lego scenes which tell some well known Bible stories though it mainly concentrates on controversial passages in the Bible. The author interprets the Bible passages in a straight-forward way, so for example, a snake is seen as the tempter in Genesis, rather than Satan. Since many of the controversial things in the Bible involve things like rape, massacres, executions, etc, these are shown in many of his stories, so it probably isn't suitable for young children. Perhaps it isn't fair for the author to mainly focus on stories about God and his people that seem immoral.... but perhaps people assume too much that the good guys never did anything controversial in the Bible, and they were always clearly doing the right thing. Maybe God's behaviour and rules could be seen as fair anyway if you think about it a bit. So this book could be seen as being thought-provoking.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wow! Review: If you have not read the bible then this is the place to start. This book will get you interested in reading more of the stories of the bible. Of course, you can check out the whole Old Testament at the bricktestament.com. The lego scenes are depicted in very brutal frankness be it Cane slaying Able or the aftermath of the great flood. The frankness is very refreshing and shows to the reader the harshness of life and consequences of ones actions.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Wonderful book Review: Ignore the reviewer from Orange, CA... the real Bible is filled with what he calls "anti-Christian" content like murder. This book is a terrific one, and well worth the money!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Reverend Has Done It Again! Review: Of all the depictions of the Christian Bible that I've encountered, The Rev. Brendan Powell Smith's is by far the best. Translated from online into print, this book should be hit with people of all faiths and beliefs. And if YOU don't find any humor within this little tome, you're missing out on a great thing. Perhaps the most famous LEGO-themed book ever to be written.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: This is not a book for Children! Review: Please - don't buy this book thinking that you're going to teach your children about the bible. I'm not a devout Christian in any way and I found this book offensive. It's almost pornographic in its depictions of some of the scenes. Plus - I don't think that this is in the Bible - "Why to keep the law? Because God will drink coffee over your dead body if you don't." Buy this book if you want - but don't buy it thinking that this is a book appropriate for Children or those wanting to learn about the Bible.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: My Favorite Bible... is rendered in LEGO! Review: Regardless of your religious beliefs, it's hard to deny that the bible is one of the most important books ever written. Its influence on modern life in America, and much of the world, is hard to overstate. Still, most people have not read much if any of the bible, regardless of their religious beliefs. This book is the most fun and readable bible book I've come across. I like that it's composed of verbatim bible verses, rather than narrative retelling. Many books that aim at making the bible casually readable do so by playing with the content. That is not done here. Certain verses and chapters are omitted to move things along, but the content you read is the purported word of God. The book maintains its readability by virtue of its beautifully realized images. The artwork is whimsical yet effecting. Watching these classic stories unfold visually is great fun. I would say that the bible is "brought to life" moreso here than in many other forms. In fact many of these images have become the images that I see when visualizing biblical tales! Only ten stories from Genesis are covered, but the book is substantial since each verse is on a page of its own accompanied by a beautiful full sized, full color illustration. It's a quick read, but I find myself showing it to friends and flipping through it again and again. I'll be leaving this on the coffee table for quite a while :) Whether you are a fundamentalist or an atheist (like myself) this is a great, fun little book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Clever Review: The author's use of legos to depict an often boring story helps readers learn and remember the stories of the bible. The author has depicted versions of many other parts of the bible as well, hope to see them printed.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The Greatest Story Ever Told...in LEGO Review: The Reverend does it again with this absolutely stunning book detailing 10 stories in Genesis. I read through it, gawked and drooled at the pictures, but this time I didn't have to do it online, I could turn the pages in my living room. This is a great book, both in content and physical presence. Tough hardback cover and 175 pages, most every one of which has a full color photograph to accompany each Bible verse. While I may or may not be Christian, I am spiritual and I absolutely love the blend of information, serious teachings, and off the cuff humor that The Bible provides and The Brick Testament utilizes. I hope to see many more volumes filling my shelf in time. Brendan, you've won me as a lifelong customer, that's for sure.
