Summary: Fun to Read, a little predictable
Review: I've read a number of Dekkar's books now, and after the others I was disappointed by the predictable ending of this one. The spiritual message of this book, however, is very strong. I was encouraged and challenged in my own faith once again through a Dekkar book.

Even still, I'm not much of a fictional reader, but this one kept my attention and I read the whole thing while home sicke for a couple of days. This book is about the discovery of real faith by an agnostic. The agnostic learns that a gift has been given to him by God, and when the gift is taken away, he learns that he can still trust God in faith.

Summary: A great book
Review: Blink is an exciting addictive book, full of action, danger, and a little romance to balance it out. It's a book that will keep you up late because you won't want to put it down. Really good christian books are somewhat rare, this is one that shouldn't be passed over.

Summary: Future Shock/Culture Shock
Review: I just finished reading "Blink". Very impressive! I liked the way Dekker showed the dichotomy that exists between the character of Muhammad and Jesus. I ESPECIALLY liked the response to the queries that some people make about God and knowledge of the present/future. The dilema Seth faced is similar to one I was confronted with in a conversation/debate I had with a friend. Besides this, Dekker does a great job at combining suspense, adventure and culture in a "small" story(ha, ha). As a schoolteacher, I enjoy a good action packed novel that mixes current issues with fiction. Students and teachers alike will enjoy Blink!

Summary: A super-charged intellectual thriller - loved it.
Review: Great book. Begins with a bold premise, which creeps through the black-and-white type and grips you by the spine. In an age where entertainment is cheap, free, or part of the new reality-TV fad, Blink stands out as thriller that moves the bar up a notch.
While Dekker hasn't been with the industry long, he approaches it with the strength and dexterity of an experienced writer, penning inventive prose into a dusty market.
Christian fiction at last begins to look like something relevant.
For those who give this a poor review: try writing something worthy of the same attentions you've given this novel.
Blink will suck you in, belt you to the passengers' seat, and drop you off, dizzy and exhilarated. Pick it up today, and add Dekker to your read and re-read library.

Summary: You won't be able to put it down!
Review: I just discovered Ted Dekker in the last year or so, but every book of his I read is amazing! Blink is no less than I expected from him and it is a definite page turner. After reading only the first chapter, I did not want to put it down. He draws you into the story and the characters' lives immediately and keeps you biting your nails through each page. I read the entire book in a day because I had to know how it ended. It is also very enlightening about the conditions in Saudi Arabia and some aspects of Islam, of great interest to many people right now considering the current world situation.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for quality entertainment, or a better understanding of Muslims, or a reassurance that God is in the details of life! My mom is reading it now and she is thoroughly enjoying it as well. Order this book -- you won't be sorry!

Review: You will carry this book with you everywhere, just to sneak a page or two in!

Summary: Smart, funny and absolutely brilliant!
Review: Four and 9/10s stars because only one book, The Grapes of Wrath, gets five stars.

I finally decided to give Dekker a whirl after seeing dozens of rave reviews from critics and readers all over the place. I picked up a copy of BLINK, his latest book and, ignoring my last minute Christmas shopping, I sat down for an evening of reading. It turned out to be a weekend. I could not put this book down.

Some disconnected PW reviewer who probably hated the Matrix may not like Dekker's assertive writing style, but I now see why the rest of the world is getting excited about this new writer. BLINK is absolutely brilliant! It's the way he weaves theme through a riveting plot that impressed me most. In short, Seth is a genius on the run with a Muslim, Miriam. The FBI, the CIA and Saudi hit men are on their tail in one of the largest manhunts in California's history. The plot keeps you guessing to the last page -- anyone who says they figured out how Seth and Miriam would get out of thier impossible predicatment before the end is either lying or, like Seth, can see into the future! Along the way we laugh our heads off at some points and cry at others. Gunfights, car chases, high stakes gambling, and a hilarious romance that I found very refreshing.

Like I said, I love Dekker's writing style. It's aggressive and refreshing, and I think readers today want that. His descriptions are anything but cliche. For example, "She was nothing more than a helpless maggot here in his presence," is a brilliant if heart wrenching snapshot of an abused woman's deepest feelings.

There's plenty to think about in BLINK: Islam and Christianity; God's knowledge of the future; our ability to change the future. But these issues don't ever become burdensome or distracting from the plot. In fact, they become the plot.

Bottom line, this was a smashing read. I see what all the talk is about. The critics are right, Dekker is destined to become known as one of the great popular writers of our time. Enjoy.

Summary: Powerful Writing, Intriguing Story.
Review: Ted Dekker is, and has been for some time now, the recognized master of the thriller/romance sub-genre within the genre of Christian fiction. He is an awesome writer, and his books are impossible to put down. Everone knows this already, but Blink represents an intense new styling of fiction excellence. Blink is about an Arabian princess trapped in the life of the palace, a life which she despises. She wants freedom. She doesn't want to have to marry through a forced, arranged union. She doesn't want to have to wear the covering that her country's laws force her to wear.

Enter a handsome young American man with a heart as big as Texas and a soul as free as California. I don't have to tell you about the romance element of the story, but I feel that I must tell you that the spiritual liberation presented in the story is far more important than the physical liberation. Blink is an excellent Ted Dekker novel, and I recommend to everyone. Enjoy!

Summary: Christian Thriller
Review: Excellent thriller by novelist Ted Dekker combines elements of adventure, suspense, romance, and supernaturalism into a compelling story about a Saudi princess on the run from Islamic political conspirators and a brilliant college student with questions about God and an uncanny knack for seeing the future. Edge of your seat stuff, this one kept me up till 2:30 AM one morning and I was sad to be done with it. Great read!

Summary: Captivating, Riveting, and somewhat informative!
Review: This is by far one of Ted Dekker's best books. All of his books are brilliant, but I enjoyed this one just a little more than some of his others.

The characters were lively and enjoyable, the story and plot were unique and developed well, and some might walk away with some insight into other countries like Saudi Arabia--how people are treated and some political aspects.

I went out on a whim and bought the book without even reading any reviews. I came to the conclusion long ago that anything by Ted Dekker would be enjoyable and worth every penny.
