Summary: Best Find of the Year
Review: If you're like me, you spend hours pouring over lists, looking for that new author that will thrill you like Grisham first did. That's how I came across Blink, completely by accident. I'd never heard of the Dekker, but the back material interested me so off I took a chance. I've never been so pleasently surprised by a book as by Blink. It's still early, but I predict this book to be among the best finds of the year.

My biggest complaint is that it costs twice what a normal mass market paperback does because it's in the larger book format -- why can't publishers just stick to the regulars ones? It's a racket. Nevertheless, this particular book was well worth the money they extracted from my pocket book.

I won't go into the plot -- read the description. You'll find a slant towards Christianity with this author, and some will find it's treatment of Islam challenging which will undoubtedly earn it some negative reviews, but please, the story is brilliant. Shell out the extra few bucks and treat yourself to a whole new voice in the world of Fiction. I agree with another reviewer -- if Dekker keeps delivering books of this caliber, he will be a household name within a few years.

Summary: Dekker's becoming one of our best novelists . . .
Review: . . . and Blink is his best yet. Since the story was conceived several years ago, comments about the book exploiting Islam seem inapt. In any case, Dekker's setting of his story against a radical clash of cultures and religions is more for the purpose of specific thematic development than to capitalize on current events.

As his former literary agent, I've read everything that Mr. Dekker has published (and some of what has yet to be published), and I'm seeing a steady development by him in all areas of novel writing: The concepts are becoming more highly developed and tantalizing; the characters are rounding out; his pacing has greatly improved; there's more verisimilitude; and his prose is taking on a beautiful symmetry. In other words, after this, his sixth novel, he is coming into his own: he has found his own unique storytelling voice.

Look for even greater things to come from this author.

Summary: Extremely imaginative. A real page-turner!
Review: Ted Dekker is extremely imaginative! "Blink" is very compelling and thought-provoking at the same time. He has a way of using an entire novel to drive home ONE key Scriptural point. Amazingly creative! A fantastic read! Calling this a "page-turner" might be a bit of an understatement!

Summary: Don't look now!
Review: Hey, don't look now, but Ted Dekker did it again when he wrote "Blink" and he did it very well. First of all, I'd like to thank Publishers Weekly for that overly constipated review of Mr. Dekker's work. They give Christians a bad name, and instead of acting like Christians, they really act like the Pharisees, so they should be quite proud of themselves! Let's give them a big hand, because we watch out for you all the time, and you really aren't that good at writing reviews anyway! And as for the readers on this site who didn't have any nerve to put their name, please get some guts and then write a real review. Now, on with MY review.

I think most readers (except for the ones mentioned above of course, ha ha) can imagine being such a person as Seth Border, and then running into someone like Miriam. This was not only an awesome read, but it really drove the point home! I couldn't read this book without giving God all the glory in the end! It is all about 2 people learning about each other and so much, much more. If you want a book that will not only give you an honest adventure, some unexpected twists, and an end that will make you say, "Now I NEVER really imagined something like THAT happening, but it makes sense!" If you want to say something like that, get this book. Because that's what I was saying after reading it. Why? Because that's how God works. You aren't supposed to expect everything that is coming. That's how this book is, and it was worth every cent! YEAH!!!

Summary: I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED READING BLINK!!!
Review: I have absolutely no interest in reading anything on the Middle Eastern culture or false religions, HOWEVER I was completely enthralled with the novel Blink! I was fascinated to learn about the life of Princess Miriam and, of course, the hero, Seth. I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns of the book. I could not guess the plot line of the story! I was delighted with the story and cannot wait to start on other Ted Dekker novels. This book is a one of a kind! It is now on my list of favorite books! Thanks, Ted!

Summary: Couldn't Put It Down!
Review: Passed between two families, with rave reviews, this book
draws in the reader fast with a compelling story of two lives, one an American genius from a difficult childhood, and the other an Arabian princess evading a forced marriage. Political intrigue, mysterious abilities, spiritual soul-searching and Truth seeking fill this intriguing tale of two searching for Freedom, in the academic, spiritual, intellectual and physical sense. Great book I will definately read again.
