Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent New Testament and Psalms
Review: I have a number of bibles and am constantly searching for one that is both readable and portable. This one fits the bill pretty nicely.
Why I like the format:
-This bible is leather (never mind the picture above which is the slipcase that the bible comes in) and is plain and formal looking in appearance.
-The type is pretty large and is arranged in one column per page making it easy on the eyes, but not so large that the bible won't fit well in a jacket pocket.
-Each pericope has a title (e.g. "Peter and John Cure a Lame Beggar" for Acts 3:1-10)
-It includes the Psalms and the NT (I use the Episcopal Church's Prayer book division of the Psalms into 60 readings, which can be found by looking at the psalms in the Episcopal prayer book, one for each morning and evening of the month, and the "Holy Bible: The New Testament, Confraternity Version" division of the NT into a year's worth of readings, so I end up reading some psalms and part of the NT on both the morning and evening train. I can't find the confraternity version on Amazon, but you can find it on www.scepterpublishers.org if you would like to mark your bible this way also.)
-The RSV is a widely respected modern translation that was largely acceptable to both Protestants and Catholics.
Things I don't like:
-The print quality doesn't seem to be of the highest standard, although the bible in general is of a higher standard than most.
