Summary: A can't-put-down read!
Review: "Cape Refuge" was my first venture into reading Christian fiction and was a pleasant surprise. I've always liked suspense-type novels and "Cape Refuge" definitely filled that bill - plus it was so refreshing to not have all the crude language that's usually part of these books.

The plot had quite a few twists and turns that kept me from wanting to put it down. I definitely will be checking out more of Terri Blackstock's books - starting with the others in this series!

Summary: Captivating
Review: Author Terri Blackstock once again displayes her supurb talent with this well written fast-paced suspenseful narrative. Her down-to-earth realistic characters capture your heart as they struggle with the unexpected and brutal murder of Thelma and Wayne Owens. The drama and dialogue in "Cape Refuge" will keep you reading long after midnight. This hard-to-put-down Christian novel will turn you into a Blackstock fan. "Cape Refuge" a memorable novel.

Summary: So So
Review: First book of Ms Blackstock for me and I found it somewhat intriguing. It was suspenseful enough to hold my interest, but was pretty slow moving. The first 340 pages kept going over the same material and the story didn't start moving to a solution until the last 40 pages and then had a sloppy ending. Much of the mess in the end could have been avoided if the characters hadn't been so slow to respond. Too many gaps in the everyday activities of the main characters, that weren't where they should be when they should be and too much wandering off singly by the sisters that knew someone was out to get them.

Summary: A Masterpiece!
Review: Having read books by Terri before I was almost positive this was going to be a good read. I was hooked after the first chapter! The story centers on two sisters Morgan and Blair, who are very different.
Morgan, along with her husband Jonathon live in her childhood home which has become a bed-and-breakfast for the down and out. She helps her parents, Thelma and Wayne Owens run Hanover House. Blair, has never married and is the town librarian. With feelings of insecurity about a scar on her face she has let it hold her back in life.
Meantime, Cape Refuge City Council is trying to shut down Hanover House but both sister's are at the meeting trying to delay proceedings until their parents arrive. As they wait Blair tries in vain to stall the proceedings. Before long sirens can be heard and soon young Police Chief Matthew Cade bursts into the council meeting with very bad news for the sisters - their parents have been murdered!
What follows is a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Jonathon has been arrested for the murders of his parents-in-law after a heated argument just that morning. While he sits helpless in a cell the sisters set out to solve the mystery and free Jonathon.
I loved the part when Blair destroys the library as a way of releasing her pent-up frustrations. It's heart warning to see how the town pulls together to help the sisters. Of course there are a few who want to see Hanover House closed down and they will go to frightening lengths to accomplish their goals.
Not deterred the sisters uncover hided secrets of their parents past along with a few long-awaited explanations.
The author brilliantly weaves a story of secrets and lies along with a few twists and turns to keep you guessing. Throughout the story momentum builds and you soon find you can't read fast enough to keep up. Or at least that's how I felt. I love a story which draws me in and makes me feel as though I have a stake in their lives. The ending will have you gasping!
You'll be glad there's a second and third book in the Cape Refuge series.

Summary: Surpassing Greatness
Review: I first became hooked on Terri Blackstock when I read the "Newpointe 911" series. After that, I read her previous series, "SunCoast Chronicles". They were all great (Newpointe being far better), and this new series will have no problem living up to her name.
I found the characters in Cape Refuge to be quite engaging. Unlike some previous books, this one didn't throw you at the bad guy right away. Some major plot twists keep you guessing for a while. (You may think it's this person, but then this person, but wait that person is lying...maybe...)
A very awesome read and highly recommended.

Summary: Terri has done better
Review: I guess I am very spoiled. After reading her other projects, I have grown accustomed to in depth characters, solid plots, and great pacing. In this one, the characters were lovable, but somewhat shallow. The plot was decent, but definitely not her best creation. The pacing was rather slow. If you have never read one of her other books, then you should enjoy this one. However, if you have read the Newpoint 911 or SunCoast Chronicles series, don't expect that kind of excellence. This book didn't read as fast as her others.

This was an average book. Pick it up at the library.

Summary: Great read
Review: I'd never read any of Terri Blackstock's books previously and but am a big fan of mystery novels. Based on the fact she'd previously written romance novels, I went in with low expectations but really enjoyed this book. It was suspenseful and entertaining. I loved how that many of the characters while Christians were flawed, making mistakes and behaving like "real" people.

Summary: Riveting, High-quality story telling!!
Review: The thing I've found with Terri Blackstock is that you can't just judge her based on one book. Please understand, I have liked all of the books she's written (that I've read), but I've found that it seems to get better as you go along...almost like an aquired taste that's pretty good at first, but then gets better as you take more bites. I'll be honest, this was the first Terri Blackstock book I've read, and I thought it was pretty good. However, since this book, I've continued to read more and more of her books, only to find that now, I can't wait to see what else she's written. Therefore, would I recommend this book? Absolutely! This book has an excellent tale to it. There's quite a bit of mystery to it, and you just can't wait until the end to find out who all's behind everything. If you're like me, and you typically enjoy the challenge of trying to figure out who did something and why before the end of the story, this is an excellent book for you...although you won't figure it out.:) So, I will hands down tell you that Terri Blackstock did an excellent job when writing this (along with any of her other books), and I would highly suggest that you get this if you're looking for a good suspense thriller, and in this case, mystery as well. Mrs. Blackstock has already contributed much to the world of Christian fiction, and this book is no exception. So, everyone, enjoy!
