Summary: Great biblical comparison between dating and courtship.
Review: An insightful book which will cause singles of all ages to examine all of their past and present dating relationships and look at them from a new perspective. The author points out the differences between the common practice of dating in the American culture and the practice of courtship which began in the bible and yet is still applicable to singles today. The author reveals the negative emotional, physical and spiritual consequences of journeying down the road of dating in order to find our choice for a companion and, in contrast, reveals the positive consequences of journeying down the road of biblical courtship in order to find God's choice for our companion. The author discusses in great detail the phases of courtship and offers several tools which may be used as a guide throughout the courtship process. This book answers many questions about problems singles have encountered in dating relationships and offers sound biblical solutions in order that singles may ! discover God's best for their lives. A must read for all singles.

Review: As a divorced thirty-nine-year-old man, I felt little hope for avoiding repetition of the same mistakes I had made in choosing a partner for life. Reading Dr. Raunikar's book has given me hope that I might avoid the same pitfalls of my past.This God-centered, biblically-based, thoroughly-practical, easy-to-read, Holy Spirit-inspired work has radically changed my concept of God's plan for my life and I HIGHLY recommend it to anyone who is ready to submit their future to the only One who is really in control. As a result of reading this book and consequently turning to Jesus Christ (who alone can forgive), I have enjoyed great healing from the sins of my past relationships. Several close friends of mine have also read Choosing God's Best and the excitement in their lives since reading it is VERY encouraging! Don't wait another day! GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT! You won't regret it!

Summary: Clear, detailed, & to the point
Review: As of father of 3 - '20 something' Christian children, I enjoyed reading this book. After reading E. Elliot's things & "I Kissed Dating Goodby" , I found this most helpfull. The author talks in a 'concrete sequental' manner, with diagrahms of spiritual/emotional/physical involvement. He focuses on Courtship being the only biblical answer for romantic relationships, and although somewhat legalistic in his out-working of that premise, still very helpfull.

Review: Choosing God's Best combines the many priciples of Godly courtship and places it all within one book. It opens the door to the "hidden truth" about dating and provides alternatives through courtship. The book opens the door to the heart by searching deep within to reveal the true intent. Will the choice of finding a mate be placed in the hands of God, or will it be taken away and grasped with our own hands? Even the study questions at the end of each chapter uncover thoughts about the future. Since reading this book, I have personally changed my view of dating and look forward to the possible courtship that may lie ahead!!

Summary: Excellent Resource For Christian ADULTS!
Review: Choosing God's Best has been very comforting and helpful to me as christian single woman in my 30's. Most books that address Christian singles are for teens and early twenty-somethings. Dr. Ranikar didn't marry until his thirties and understands the struggle on an emotional level. Ranikar has been called legalistic, but I'd coin him a purist. We are a culture that champions hedonism and (false) freedom, that even as christians we can be affected by these attitudes. I came to the Lord at 30, after having had secular relationships. For a long time, I prayed for a husband but took no action. I was terrified of sinning. Discovering Dr. Ranikar's book was a breath of fresh air. He faces the realilities of building a healthy marriage. And guess what folks, in order to build you first have to prepare. That means letting God heal and make you into the person He'd have to you be prior to marriage. Healing childhood and past relationships issues prevents sabotage of a healthy marriage. Other areas of preparation include finances, domestic and communication skills and your personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The bond you share with our Lord should be the deepest and most intimate one of all. It comes even before your marriage. The best part is that Dr. Ranikar gives concrete instructions on how to prepare. None of the vague "Just trust in the Lord to provide..." fare. But biblically based steps to get you where you need to be to receive God's best. I recommend this book for those who are older and need substance in helping them deal with the meaty issues that arise along this path of singleness to marriage. Bravo, Dr. Rankinar and God bless you.

Summary: Wish I had read this 20 years ago!
Review: Choosing God's Best has SO MUCH wisdom! With the state of marriages and the dating scene as it is today, this book provides real TRUTH in getting back to the way it should be! The man is the pursuer (NOT the woman), and seeking God's leading and guidance in selecting the mate He has for you will change your life. God knows best and who better to trust in your LIFETIME commitment of a spouse than HIM! I loved the section on emotional connection and not getting "emotionally connected" unless there is a marriage commitment. There is too much pain and heartache when there is emotional connection and no marriage commitment! I am in my 40's, divorced and "NOT DATING, but WAITING ON GOD". This is radical to today's approach and for the GOOD! This book is a great follow-up to the book "I Kissed Dating Goodbye" by Joshua Harris (which is good for singles ALL ages)! Too many guys out there just want to have a good time, do the dating merry-go-round, say nice things and yet are not willing to make a commitment. This book tells guys what they need to start doing: Get on your knees before God and ask Him to reveal His wisdom and choice of marriage partner! Stop using people for your own pleasure!

Summary: ESSENTIAL IN FINDING THE RIGHT MATE - THE ONE GOD INTENDED
Review: Choosing God's Best helped me so much in a time of need. I was praying for God to help me because I wasn't sure if this person was whom I ought to marry. God was so good and answered me through this book. God was asking me to build a relationship with him first before I built a relationship with anyone else. This book has sent me on my way to marry God's choice for me and actually give me ways to do that with guidelines. Throughout the book scriptures are noted to read for yourself. It tells you how you should go about finding a mate. The book uses the bible throughout proving that courting is the way to find whom God intended for you. I thank God he sent me this book to help me. Otherwise I would have built a marraige on sand that would have deteriorated in time because it was not set on God's solid rock foundation. Thank you Jesus :)
