Summary: Great Language Helps, Poor Notes
Review: The New American Standard and the excellent Hebrew-Greek helps make this Bible a must have for all serious students of God's Word (John 8:31-32). This Bible offers the reader the rare opportunity to catch glimpses of the deeper meanings of various Hebrew and Greek words. The words are underlined and numbered to help the reader. The Hebrew-Greek dictionary is helpful and the Word Studies section is also informative.

The drawbacks I have found with this Bible is first the poor quality of the leather. Again, the mass market productions have hit this Bible as well. Older editions are probably better made but I have not seen any. Second, the notes that are found in this study Bible are based on the author's ideas and theology. I would prefer not to have them in. They are more of a distraction that a help. If you come from a Reformed or Arminian background, you will probably not enjoy the notes found in this Bible.

However, this Bible is a must have for deeper studies despite the poor production and the personal study notes from the authors.

Summary: Warning! doesNOT contain STRONG's Hebrew /Greek Dictionaries
Review: The NIV is a wonderful Bible for better understanding, but i want my children to also be able to look up the original words in Hebrew and Greek for the whole picture and truth of what the Word says. However, this Bible does not contain Strongs Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries, but is a Kohlenberger's version of which is not near as detailed as the Strongs. I am sending it back and reordering the NAS (most literal translation) which has the Strongs Hebrew and Greek Keyword Dictionarys, and is by far more detailed.

Summary: My Number One Study Bible
Review: This Bible gives the original Hebrew and Greek texts with definitions and pronunciations that every lay person can understand. As a pastor and radio Bible teacher, I use this Bible more than all other helps.

Summary: This is something every Christian should own
Review: This Bible is fantastic! The Hebrew-Greek lexicon & dictionary are easy to use and provide a detailed explanation for many key words and phrases. This Bible has substantially increased the depth of my personal study and understanding of the Word. It's a bargain -- and a very helpful tool.

Summary: okay
Review: this bible is okay. but the problem with this and other biblical word studies is that they don't really teach anything about greek, hebrew or aramaic and are thus misleading to layman. the best idea would be to use a grammar or any other language-learning tool.

Summary: 2 Timothy 2:15 "Study to show thyself approved unto God ....
Review: This book came highly recommended by my Pastor. It is an excellent tool for studying. The moment you receive revelation knowledge you can turn to the Hebrew and Greek complete concordance in the back of the book.

Summary: A journey back in time
Review: This is an excellent tool for bible study. The NASB is perfect for this effort. The concept of understanding the bible through a person who has the original (or an offshoot of the original)language as his native tongue is the right way to go. As in all study efforts, it is best not to rely solely on one work, so I often compare the author's comments with other works such as Vine's or Strongs in conjunction with commentaries and other study bibles. However, this is a very, very useful bible.

Summary: This is the best study Bible I have seen in years.
Review: This study Bible brings together, in one volume, a Greek dictionary, Hebrew dictionary, and a concordance. The editor's comments are very scholarly and non-denominational. He traces the textual connotations along with the actual meanings of the words. He uses Strong's numbers to follow a particular word, and shows the grammatical basis for his conclusions. I would recommend this to any Bible student.

Summary: Great study Bible!
Review: When I say "Great study Bible!", I mean "study!" It has some study notes, but that is not what this Bible is about. This Bible makes it easier than ever to study the meaning of the original languages behind the translation. As the NASB is probably the most accurate translation available, now you have tools to dig even deeper. Almost every word in this Bible has its corresponding Strong's number next to it, and the Strong's information can be found in the back. You can also find Spiros Zidhiates' Hebrew and Greek definitions in the back by using the same Strong's numbers. If you are serious about Bible study, and not just to read other people's notes on passages, then this is the Bible you want.
