Rating: Summary: Get the NASB version--wish I would have Review: I agree--this is a great tool. I think the NASB translation, being the most literal, lends itself most aptly to this sort of thing. I love the NIV, but when you're doing Greek-Hebrew studies, it's better to have a literal translation. This is still a must-have Bible, unless you know Hebrew and Greek and can read it without help. :-)
Rating: Summary: This Bible places a deeper grasp of the truth within reach. Review: I am a minister who specializes in ministry to the Jewish people. And though I disagree with some of the sub-headings and some of what is written at the beginning of each book, this Bible places a deeper understanding of God's truth within close reach. When you understand certain meanings of words (which this Bible is special for) you can better discuss your faith. It's a convenient tool to take wherever you go.
Rating: Summary: Good resource but BEWARE OF BAD THEOLOGY IN FOOTNOTES Review: I bought this Bible becasue of the Greek and Hebrew Notes which are an indespensible resource. BUT this Bible is saturated with the false doctrines of dispensationalism. I may not have bought it if I would have been aware of it. Still, the Greek and Hebrew notes and parsing guides are great. If you buy it, don't be decieved by the false theology in the footnotes that the editors added.

Rating: Summary: Complete Bible Review: I enjoy this Bible the most of any I have owned or studied. It is a great tool during church and sunday school and bible studies because it is all compact into one book and the references to the lexical aids and concordance in back have provided insight many times already during group settings. I appreciate that there isn't a lot of commentary to get in the way just helpful keynotes and the lexcial/concordance reference numbers. Once you look at the front page on how to use the Bible it is simple to look words up and understand for someone that may not have a background in Greek or Hebrew.
Rating: Summary: Best Bible I have ever owned. Review: I have an older version of this bible (1988) and the cross-reference to the lexicon and dictionary in the back is a constant help in revealing Gods word to me. I find my self totally engaged with the word and hours pass before I look up and realize that I have been busy for some time. I also tend to keep going with a verse, and study further in church while the Pastor keeps moving on to others. I also recommend the other books by the editor, as He has a great way of explaining things that my youth group can grasp, yet is deep and meaningful to me. you will not be sorry- Gods word will not return void, and this edition is great.
Rating: Summary: Excelent study Bible Review: I have been studying the Bible for a few years now, but lately I have started using the Hebrew-Greek study Bible and it has really helped in my understanding of God's word. If you are serious about understanding the Bible, you have to understand the original text it was written in. I strongly recommend this Bible.
Rating: Summary: inconvenient look-up definitions Review: I just got this book a few days ago hoping that it would be the ultimate answer for all or most of the key Hebrew/Greek original translation notes that it boasted of, which it indeed does have, but it only has very few explanatory notes on the same page, but many inconvenient look-up definitiion which means you'll be jumping back and forth to the end of the book. Zodhiates does a good job otherwise, extremely light weight (around 2200 pp), easy to read print and handy size, maps, and with the complete dictionary concordance of all rhe words in the bible and other lexical aids. This book is not for just high scholar only, but I think to the layreader also. perhaps the "Thompson Chain Reference Bible" is a better choice for many convenient translational footnotes.
Rating: Summary: Good reference, too much opinion Review: I like the way that this bible is layed out with key words numbered for Greek/Hebrew to english comparison and translation. What I don't like is the extremely biased opinions of the person who writes the commentary. The author has some very 'reformed' view points that make this book a little 'tainted' for many major denominations and keeps it from being truly objective. A good bible reference, but not worth the price for the reasons stated.
Rating: Summary: Excellent In-depth Study Bible!! Review: I love this bible. It's one of the best that I have! (Other Bibles: NIV Life Application and KJV Thompson Chain Reference Bible and KJV Horizontal Harmony of the 4 Gospels in Parallel Columns)Reading the bible and understanding the full meaning of the words in Hebrew and Greek has open my eyes to many themes in words used in different passages from the Old and the New Testament. It has a mini-Strong's Concordance that goes with it which gives it portability without having to bring the Strong's Concordance around. A definite Bible you must have in order to have a deeper study of the Word. The other bible you can get is Thompson Chain Reference Bible which helps you to study themes in the bible.
