Summary: Crucial subject matter for continuing Christian growth!
Review: A copy of this book should be in the hands of every person on Earth.

How many people do you know that self identify as Christian, (even those of whom fully understand that that means having a personal relationship and fellowship with God through the sacrificial death, and resurrection, of His Son, Jesus Christ) but still continue to struggle in vain with issues such as:

Mental illness
Emotional breakdowns
Physical ailments
Repeated or chronic sickness
- especially if hereditary
Infertility
Destruction of marriage and family
Ongoing financial insufficiency
Being accident prone
A family history of unnatural or untimely deaths (accident, suicide, cancer et. al.)

This book is about the how, what, where, when, and why of the seemingly endless cycle, of those and other failures, and the proper way to go about taking it to the Lord in prayer to get it eradicated. The purpose of which is to make a clear path for you to grow your relationship with God and for Him to pour out His abundant blessings upon you and yours.

It isn't about demanding anything or treating God like a genie in a bottle. Nor is it about focusing on fallen angels, spooks, territorial anythings, things that go bump in the night, et al. or their sorry, bitter, rage filled agendas. It's about *you* and *Him* and how to utilize the simple power of His spoken Word to enhance your relationship with Him.

Yes, you can claim (accept, praise, thank God for) your blessings once you know how, just as you claimed (accepted, praised, and thanked God for) sweet salvation once you knew how. Because they were both already given to you a long time ago, from the Cross, when He said, "It is finished". They were just waiting for you - to claim. Ask and you shall receive.

It is imperative to read this book in the same manner in which it was obviously written by the late Dr. Prince - with a prayerful heart, an open mind, a studious soul, and most importantly - the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

No hyperbole or hullabaloo here, just a very vital stepping stone on the journey from newbie to mature, effective Christian.

The material in this book has made a tremendous difference in my life and that of my spouse, our marriage, and our ability to correctly seek the will of God.

God bless you and best wishes!

Summary: Book Description
Review: Are you continually frustrated by sickness, financial pressure, strained relationships? Or perhaps accidents happen to you or your family with perplexing regularity. Do you wonder why some people seem to get more than their share of success and fulfillment?

Derek Prince suggests that two forces are at work in every life: blessings and curses. One is beneficial, the other harmful. To enjoy the benefits of God's blessings and be protected from curses, we need to understand how these forces work.

Prince shows dramatically that a curse is not a superstition from the Dark Ages. He draws on real-life experiences of people who were astonished to discover that they were not the victims of blind chance-or even of heredity. Rather, the problem was a curse that might have originated in a previous generation. Most important, Prince shows you how to recognize a curse at work in your life and helps you find release and God's blessings.

Summary: "Worth the read!"
Review: As a traditional, evangelical Baptist pastor I was not sure about reading this book. It was recommended by a friend, however, whose judgement I trusted. I couldn't put it down. It is a wealth of Biblical wisdom and common sense. I find myself going back to it time and again, and each time I rediscover wisdom and comfort in his suggested prayers, and his analysis of scriptures which I had read often, but not understood. This book will bring you (and I use this word cautiously) 'healing,' from much that is in your past.

Summary: Delivered me from curses
Review: I came across this book from my roommate.I read it in two days!It helped me understand a deep problem I had for years....I was very obssessed with astrology. After reading this book,I had a real God-experience.I threw away all my astrology books.I used to read my friends' palms for fun.I stopped that too and promised Jesus never to do it again. After this,I received Holy Spirit's blessings and gifts.I also received the Gift of Tongues.Previously, though I prayed,I never really could get any God experience.I always felt dry inside my heart.I never knew that these silly things I did for 'fun' was really obstructing my blessings from God and creating a barrier.I was delivered and now I feel very free.I rely on God's plan for my life. This great book changed my life forever!Bless Derek Prince!

Summary: Mr. Matthew, Kenneth is Right!!!
Review: I read this book and and it reads very well. Matter of fact, it should be placed in the fiction catagory where it really belongs. Derek Prince is an egaging author and I agree with Mr. Herfurth that his motives are pure, but Prince is not interpreting scripture properly.

He should belong in the "name and claim" it gospel (he frequents the TBN circus ring)and does not understand that the truth in gospel is that Christ saved unto eternity, not to heal us from every malady.

Read "Christianity in Crisis" as an expose about this type of scholarship (if I can call it scholarly) and read your Bible. Christ death atones unto salvation, not a healing from a headace, which is what I received after reading this book.

Summary: Superstition Imposed On Scripture
Review: I read this book at the urging of a friend. Needless to say, my friend and I have had a few discussions on the subject of blessings, curses, and territoral demons. I think Derek Prince really believes this tortured interpretation of such Biblical texts that deal with faith, demons, blessings and curses. This however, doesn't mean he is right.

The rating cannot change because his motives appear pure. His chapter on "seven indications of a curse" is almost funny if it wasn't so sad. God becomes regulated to big tent ring leader only here to serve your every wim. If you can rid these demonic curses and understand certian "spiritual laws", you to can receive every blessing from God at your demand.

In another chapter we are to "claim forgiveness" after asking for it. But this goes against what forgiveness is all about. Forgiveness issomething you can't claim, but seek and are given. Save your money and buy "The Case For Faith" or "Living Jesus." Actually, almost anything is better than this book.

The text receives two stars because of the easy reading style and overall flow of the book.

Summary: Mr. Kenneth, Tortured translation
Review: I take issue with the gentleman who proclaimed that teachings about faith, blessing, demons, and curses only come from a "tortured" understanding of Biblical teaching...

The basis of Christianity is faith and blessing resulting from an awareness of our own spiritual destitution brought on be God's holy grace opening our eyes to the truth. We have been blinded by demons (and our own will) but simple logic states that to be saved there must be somthing worth saving FROM, and that entity from which Christs atoning work on the cross saved us is Satan, an eternity sharing his just punishment, and his minions the demons

Summary: be set free from the power of a curse
Review: I was first turned on to this book by a pastor friend who ministers in deliverance. Right from the outset, when we first met, he got the impression that I was suffering from some kind of curse, without even having spoken to me at any length. I was ministering in worship and praise at the time (which I still do) and I didn't pay too much attention to what he said until I read through this book.

I had felt for the longest time though (for the last 15 years or so), on numerous occasions that my family and I had experienced a great deal more of "unlucky" calamity, sickness, and financial failure than most of the people around us. The book lists, among other things, numerous objects that can be doorways for the occult or idolatry to enter into our lives. Boy was I surprised when the pastor showed me that the papyrus I used for educational purposes had the image of a musician (symbolically me) making an offering on an altar to the highest god of Egypt! From then on, my wife and I went through the house and we were amazed at the number of objects that we found. We decided to burn them in the back yard.

The book speaks in depth on self-imposed curses that we bring upon ourselves through our speech, and also covers family, or hereditary curses that were handed down to us through our ancestors. If you don't believe in hereditary curses you might want to ask yourself why the doctor's office always has you fill out a form telling them what diseases your parents and grandparents had.

The question of course is, if Christ redeemed me from "the curse of the law" why would I still need to break any curses in my life? Good question. Another question to ask yourself could be, if God forgave my sins, why am I still in jail, or why am I still suffering the consequences of my sin, or even my father's sin? I will leave you to read the book to get the author's point of view on this.

This is a highly practical as well as informative book. It has definitely left an impression upon my thinking. For those of you who have even the slightest doubt that you may be suffering from a curse, please read this book, and learn how you can be set free from its power.

Summary: Awesome book!
Review: I would like to disagree with the writer below (the one who gave the two star rating). If you are familiar with other Derek Prince teachings you will know that he is the last one to say that "you can have every blessing from God at your every whim." The book is not about the spiritual rules that you have to follow to be blessed. Rather, it is an insight into the exchange that happen when Jesus was crucified (he was identified with our shame/guilt, and we with his rightousness). It is possible to know that the transaction took palce and not take adventage of it because of one's ignorance of the details of it. Or one can stay in a hotel and leave hungry the next day not knowing that the breakfest was free. Derek Prince does a wonderful job of shedding the light on what Christians are entitled to becasue of sacrificial death of Jesus.

If you have a history of misfortunes, sicknesses, etc. and/or if you are an "accident-prone" person you should get this book. Why let Satan rob you of what is rightfuly yours...Curses are real and God's holy word testifies to it. I know a whole bunch of people that got delivered because of this book.
