Rating: Summary: Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This book is just AMAZING- I bought it with "Blessings of Guadalupe"by the same author, and i am really thrilled and impressed by the beauty of this talent; I am sure that Eryk Hanut's name will shine in the history of writing; Buy this book and you will acquire the same belief; His metaphors, sense of prose and lyricism are just matchless- Can't wait for the next book of Eryk Hanut!!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic book!!!! Review: This book is just superb! And I mean- SUPERB!!!!!!!!!Poetic, funny, acerbic- and so full of wisdom. I like his style- so irreverent and so deep at the same time. I will reread it often and will give it around. I strongly recommend it- you got the point, right? I met Eryk Hanut once- many years ago. I attended an opening for his artwork in Virginia Beach. I was with a friend (who was already sick and has died since)who admired and praised one of Mr. Hanut's Art pieces . She told him so and joked that she couldn't afford it; He left us and came back with the framed photograph that he had just took off the wall- and gave it to my friend. That's the kind of man he is. Long live authors of his talent and originality!
Rating: Summary: Humor and Holiness. Review: This book is witty and thoughtful, with plenty of spurprising yet credible breath of adventure and fresh air(especially about an old subject). This reads like a letter to a friend.Eryk Hanut is the perfect writer(and a Renaissance man) to tackle this compelling topic, which he does with great style, spirit and gusto. It was my wife's and my good fortune to attend Eryk Hanut's lecture in MI. Despite his youthful appearance, he is surprinsingly knowledgeable and never failed the expectations of his audience. Pick this one!
Rating: Summary: I felt I was there with him Review: This book is wonderful. I have heard of Eryk through the wonderful writings of Andrew Harvey and of course Eryk's pictures in Mary's Vineyard. This book reads like a historical account, a novel and a personal pilgramage. I love to read anything about the Blessed Mother. I bought this book on Friday and finished it Sunday morning. I laughed at loud and cried at the end. I can't wait until the next book...Lynne
Rating: Summary: Such a wonderful book! Review: This book made me laugh and cry several times!!This is an engaging and bittersweet tale about the mysterious origins and spiritual force of the famous pilgrimage. The author's recollections and metaphors are brilliant, funny and irreverent at once. This is going to be a favorite Xmas present this year!!
Rating: Summary: a very moving account-and beautifully written too!! Review: This is a very wonderful and holy book; I am more and more attracted to the Blessed Mother and her apparitions, so it was a very special opportunity for me to see Mr Hanut when he came to Michigan this past week.I bought this book and I read it in one night! It is extraordinaly fascinating-devout without being pious and very well researched. Mr Hanut is also an excellent writer and this book is a promise of great success for him.
Rating: Summary: F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C!!!!!!! Review: This is an outstanding book!Eryk Hanut brings to his work the imagination and artistry of an alchemist storyteller. His prose is clear, elegant and easy; His sense of observation is sharp but kind and never superficial, absorbing as well as intelligently sympathetic; In short, "The Road to Guadalupe"is one of the best books I've ever read, a unique perspective on Mexico and on faith, explored with the most eloquent style> Ruth Ann Dorey
Rating: Summary: Hurray for Hanut!! Review: This is the best book I've read in a long, long, long time! It's fascinating how Hanut gives this ancient text (the Nican Mopohua- first account of the Guadalupe saga)such a rich development; His journey is colorful, entertaining and filled with incredible facts; He is at time a bit self-absorbed- but all real writers are. This book is GREAT- in a "Tracey Ullman meets Master Eckaert" sort of way; Refreshing and deep; Spiritual but entertaining.
