Summary: To the "Mary" (and "Elizabeth") In You....
Review: Rev. Weems has written wonderfully, and expressed simply, the impact women have on the lives of other women. At any given moment, we may be either "Mary" or "Elizabeth." I found my chapter(s) and rejoiced with each page that God had brought women (elders and lil' sisters) into my life to teach me and be taught by me. I recommend "Showing Mary" to every woman--regardless of your ethnicity, denomination or generation; but ESPECIALLY those who may have thought you "missed the boat," or were "sailing alone." Thank you, Renita, and thank you "Elizabeth" for sharing this treasure with me. With much love...."Mary"

Summary: Powerful metaphor of pregnancy
Review: The author does a wonderful job comparing and contrasting spiritual pregnancy against real pregnancy. An immediate "To Be Read" book for women of color who desire a closer walk with the Holy Spirit and are undergoing change in their life. Keep this book on your shelf for reference and meditation.
