While most Calvinist will not agree with Corner's view on eternal security, he does put his finger on a sore spot in the evangelical church world. Like it or not, Calvinism has produced shallow views on holiness and sin. I would have have given the book a five star vote however I believe Corner's arguments would be stronger if he would not just focus on eternal security but deal with all five points of Calvinism. The doctrine of perseverance is based on the other four principles of Calvinism particularly election. While Corner deals with some aspects of election, a few chapters devoted to John Calvin's view of election would help to solidify his arguments against eternal security even more. This is a good book to read and is fast paced. Despite the length, you will be intrigued by much of what Calvinist theologians, pastors, and historians have to say about the teaching of eternal security.

Review: Dan Corner's book very convincingly refutes the heretical doctrine of unconditional security that is so prevalent in our churches today. I believe scripture points out that "once saved always saved" or unconditional security is the doctrine of demons alluded to in 1 Timothy 4:1. Corner doesn't get tangled in fancy theological arguments to cloud the truth, but he lets scripture interpret scripture. The book gives overwhelming scriptural evidence to support the doctrine of "conditional" security. Those in opposition always resort to their false argument of "works salvation" which they cry everytime someone mentions holiness, righteousness or perseverence, which we as believers are exhorted to walk in over and over in scripture. I would encourage everyone to read this book with an open mind and Bible to discover the liberating true gospel of the cross. ... God Bless You Jon Hill

Amongst so many erroneous doctrines in the present so-called Evangelical Churches, the light this book radiates is so brilliant that bashishes all shades of false doctrines and man-made theories concerning the salvation of the believers and their final perseverance. The work is extremely well documented, and its doctrine is absolutely sane and according to Jesus's and the Apostle's teachings. Without HOLINESS, NO ONE shall see the Lord. (Heb. 12:14). Reggie
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: As a new, young Christian, this book is excellent. Review: I guess I've been blessed by not being "indoctrinated" by the teachings of a church, in particular, the doctrine of eternal security. I've not read the book in its entirety, however, what I've read so far makes sense. And what Mr. Corner sets out to prove (that the teaching of eternal security is a false doctrine) lines up with what the Bible teaches. And as to what a previous reviewer said about those Calvanist preachers with a PhD (or whatever type of degree they may have) having an ability to better understand the Bible: WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! The Bible is better understood when the person reading it is filled with the Holy Spirit. God could care less what degree you have and how much education you've obtained. That is why 1 Cor. 1:27 says "But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;" This book is very good, very informative, Biblically based and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to know the truth about eternal security and the history behind it. Thank you Mr. Corner for your thorough presentation.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: GREAT FOR PRESENTING THE ENTIRE TOPIC Review: I have been interested in the topic of the believers security since I believed in the Lord back in the early 70s. At one time I embraced this view! The problem I had was what to do with all the warning passages. If I integrate all the warnings with all the promises and apply the same plain method of interpretation, I arrive at a conditional security position. Dan's book is great for presenting the entire topic, warnings and promises. He also deals with the history of this doctrine thoroughly and discusses what the early church believed prior to its inception with Augustin. Many WEB sites that hold to OSAS only present a laundry list of the promise passages but they are unbalanced because they do not deal with the warning passages. Or they will apply an exegetical approach to the promises and eisegetical approach to the warnings in order to rescue their beliefs from what the Bible actually teaches. The differences in Dan's approach and the OSAS crowd is that Dan builds a Biblical theology while the OSAS adherents use select portions of the Bible to support their preconceived dogma. All interested in this topic should take advantage of the thorough, balanced approach presented in Dan's book.

Review: I have read many books on the subject of eternal security, and this one without question goes into the very heart of the question. It seems that Mr. Corner doesn't like to leave any stone unturned, he has covered the subject in such a way that I believe that he has just about exhausted the subject of "eternal security." Time spent reading this book will without doubt pay dividends the rest of your life. When you read this book, like all books, it is important to read it completely through, it will be time well spent. I could not imagine the time Mr. Corner must of spent in research! May God richly bless him. Charles Wright
