Summary: Concord with a Bit of Discord
Review: While the editors and translators have done exceptional work in many areas, including critical apparatus and supplemental material, I'm not sold on the gender neutrality that surfaces in several areas. Much of this seems done to support the idea of women in the pastoral office. Also, the choice of "original" texts is questionable in certain cases; perhaps because later modifications put a slightly different spin on certain issues.

But even if you disagree with either a seemingly pro-feminist agenda (in places) or with the choice of sources, this new edition still sparkles. Reading is easy, both because of the writing and editing and because of a good layout and typeface. Notes are copious and background information is well-integrated.

I still await the "perfect" English language version and won't stop using the Triglotta. However, this newest translation has become my first choice for research and has almost completely supplanted the Tappert edition in my reading and studies.
