Rating: Summary: A Time to Dance and a Time to Remember! Review: "A Time to Dance" was one of the most touching books that I have ever read. This is the story of a once-happily married couple, now married in name only. Yet by reading their struggle, it can take us back to those sweet days when we first fell in love with our husbands and remind us that those days don't have to end! How love can be strengthened through the tough times and come out even stronger and deeper than in the days when love was new. This is a book that you will want to keep on your shelf after reading it, so that you can go back and reflect on it from time to time. Whether you are single, happily married or unhappily married, you will enjoy this book and the message that it shares. Allow yourself some "Time to Dance"!.
Rating: Summary: A Whim Review: ... my reason for purchasing the book was mostly to get an autographed copy as the author was present. But then the story line intrigued me since it was about a woman about my age. I was enchanted with the characters, and many times wanted to knock their heads together to make them listen to each other. However, in showing us God's love for us Ms. Kingsbury did a delightful job in moving John and Abby towards the book's predictable happy ending. Great book!
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: A great book by a great author. Her work is wonderful, and this book again, demonstrates the wonderful work Karen creates.
Rating: Summary: My First Karen Kingsbury Review: And it won't be my last :o) I have loved every minute of this book. The lessons of what it really takes to make a marriage have been invaluable. I even told my husband that I've learned things I will incorporate into our daughter's life as she grows. I love the reality of the book, the way I could feel the pain as I remembered wretched struggles in my own marriage. And that familiar "I want out" suffocation. I honestly can't say enough good about this book. I'd recommend it for absolutely anyone. We all need a better perspective on what love really is.

Rating: Summary: Exhausting! Review: I found this book emotionally exhausting. This is a book about a marriage on the rocks. The couple has decided to split but each looks back on the past to remember how their marriage was. I don't think I'm spoiling anything here, we know they will resolve things in the end, right? I just hate that it takes until virtually the last page to happen.
We go through the wringer with John and Abby and we get to see both sides of the story, but I needed a bit more than a neat apology at the end to satisfy me.
I'm also not pleased that these Christian characters had no Christian friends to support them or talk to. I know the main point of the story was to show that when a couple steps away from God, then their marriage can suffer, but this couple had two active children who were obviously still attending and involved in church. Where were the church people? And when they stopped attending church, where were their friends?
However, I will say that Kingsbury is an excellent writer. She keeps you invested in the storyline and characters. But this was like dieting and exercising for a month straight and losing 2 pounds...you just wanted a little more for your effort.
Rating: Summary: another wonderful novel from Kingsbury! Review: I have come to expect a lot from Kingsbury's books, and this one will not disappoint anyone! John and Abbey are on the brink of divorce; their biggest remaining obstacle is telling their children. Once their daughter announces her engagement, they decide to put off telling them until the wedding is over so that her happiness will not be marred. During the ensuing months, John and Abbey continue in their emotional turmoil, but also slowly begin to develop a new understanding of each other. Unfortunately, for every emotional step forward, they suddenly take several steps backward. The highs and lows of their relationship, coupled with complications from another woman, future in-laws, and an email friend, will keep you reading until the astounding climax. Will John and Abbey ever reconcile? This is a powerful story of the healing power of God's love plus the always awesome power of prayer.
Rating: Summary: An encouraging read Review: I have read almost all of Karen Kingsbury's books, and this one is by far my favorite. It is a story about an average family going through a very difficult season. I kept recognizing myself in the pages without feeling preached to. Kingsbury is to-the-point about the effects of daily struggles on this couple's relationship, and is particularly gifted at letting the reader see how God might be working in their own lives, as she depicts Him working in the lives of these characters. The end is a little predictable, but after this near-miss tale, you'll be glad it is. It will leave you with a firmer committment to your own relationships, and wiser to the things that bit by bit, tear them apart. Kingsbury has woven yet another memorable tale depicting God's abounding grace to those who seek Him and His healing touch available to those who will humbly ask.
Rating: Summary: Heartfelt Novel Review: I have read many of Kingsbury's novels and this one has to be my favorite! Kingsbury writes about these characters as if she were talking about people she actually knows. She has an incredible talent for bringing the characters alive. I truly felt like I knew this family and their trials and tribulations, personally. I finished this book in three days having had a hard time putting it down. I reccomend this book for anyone that has ever been in a family, knows a family or is married with a family. Great reading, please send your fans more, soon!
Rating: Summary: Tragic Review: I read this the day I got home from the women of faith conference and kept waiting for it to get better. If this is the way people fight no wonder the divorce rate is as high as it is. The whole book was about people speaking out in anger and not saying "I am so sorry I said that" often enough. There is enough sad things on the radio and TV when I read I want a story about a couple who still love each other deeply after 20 years and how they can go through tough times that happen in life but their marraige remains solid in the Rock Jesus Christ.
