Review: Bishop Jakes in his own sometimes humorous,sometimes heartwrenching style teaches us through the scriptures as well as examples from his own life.It is so refreshing to see a man unafraid to bare all for the world to know.He shares his own humble beginnings as a young black man struggling with secular employment and hardly being compensated for gas money when he preached,to losing his secular job and being virtually forced out of his comfort zone into faith.He was without a job, without a car,without utilities,and sometimes without food while working odd jobs to scrape together enough money to feed a wife and two children.For those of us that have been there or are there he gives us comfort in knowing we haven't been forsaken, for those who haven't been in that place, this book takes you there and you will never be the same again.

Review: Inspiring and dynamic, a true peek into the life of T.D. Jakes. CAN YOU STAND TO BE BLESSED, takes a in depth look at stuggle and how we as followers of the gospel of Jesus Christ, are to over come the snares of Satan. I found this book to be very uplifting and giving in the sense of direction and the purpose that we have to grow. I would recommend this book to anyone who is at a crossroads in their life and once you finish you will find that you can't stand to be blessed.
