Rating: Summary: Ephany Sunday Review: I bought this book weeks before I cracked it open. I am an 9-year churchgoer who actually didn't understand much about salvation until last January when the Lord finally claimed me and set me on a path to discover what my specific mission is in His kingdom work. RMR helped me discover it. I spent that Sunday and the following day reading and weeping, reading and weeping. As each page turned, and as I would refer to Scripture mentioned in the book, I discovered the meaning for me behind many of the paths I took over the past year. I have no doubt that God used RMR to speak to me. I looked back at the church calendar later that week after finishing RMR and discovered that the day I had decided to finally start reading it, after having it for about 2 weeks, it was Ephany Sunday. God is so big, and so powerful; I stand in awe of Him and how He continues to work on me changing me to be the person He wants me to be. He also has a tremendous sense of humor and often chooses to display it and his omnipotence in circumstances like mine: I never imagined my life would be devoted to a prayer ministry; children, computers ... all of the stuff I thought I was "GOOD" at, yeah. But, I am so grateful He is choosing me to work with this ministry, because it is in prayer that we are the closest to Him. Godspeed, and READ THE BOOK!
Rating: Summary: A Life Changer Review: I had been somewhat familiar with 24-7 Prayer for several months from reading articles by Pete Greig in Relevant Magazine, and when I read that Red Moon Rising was coming out in November, I pre-ordered it. After about the 4th chapter I went online and ordered a case of them to give away. The reactions of other friends I've given it to have been the same. I've read this book 2 times (the only reason I haven't read it more is because I keep loaning it to people) and each time I get more and more stirred up...by what God is doing around the world and in the church as He stirs the heart of this generation to pray. The comments I most hear from people who've read it have to do with the sense of freedom that people feel in this thing as well as a sense of unity & interconnectedness within the church. It's not about just one church gathering it's people together to pray for their particular needs (although that has value, too), it's more about the church, globally, connecting...regardless of denomination, doctrine, etc. and supporting one another as they reach out to their communities. It also speaks to the cry of this generation to touch a hurting and lost world...not standing on the street corner passing out tracts, but in real ways...feeding the hungry, helping the poor, sitting with & praying for the drug addict that's just overdosed, etc. If you have a heart to see God move in this generation, read this book and you'll be convinced He can do it through you.
Rating: Summary: This book will rock your world Review: I picked this book up at a bookstore and knew I had to have it. I'm a college student, broke 3/4 of the time, but this book was so worth every penny. It has fueled in me a love and desire for prayer that I've never experienced before. I'm planning to start a week of 24-7 prayer on my campus because I believe that prayer is the key to God's heart. Buy it: you'll be glad you did!
Rating: Summary: God is moving!! Review: If there is any doubt in your mind that God is real or that He is moving in our world today read this book...it will definitely open your mind and your heart. I am involved in a 24-7 movement in the Maryland area and this book has served as one of our main inspirations....nice job Pete Greig....and as you are apt to say Come On!!
Rating: Summary: Headache Review: My friend's mum cried so much reading this book she kept getting a headache and had to stop. Perhaps it should come with a free packet of tissues and a couple of painkillers?!
Rating: Summary: Read this book! Review: Red Moon Rising is a fantastic book, I was drawn into the adventure from page one and could not put the book down. I am left excited by God and hungry to catch up with what the spirit is doing in this generation.
Rating: Summary: Challenged... you will be. Review: Red Moon Rising is a fantastic book, I was drawn into the adventure from page one and could not put the book down. I am left excited by God and hungry to catch up with what the spirit is doing in this generation.
Rating: Summary: Powerful! Review: Red Moon Rising is an account of what God is doing right now to raise up this generation to meet the needs of the lost and hurting. I devoured the book in 2 days. I wept as I saw God pour out and bring people into an intimate relationship with Him through prayer. If you're not sure that God is at work, then read this book. He is showing up in incredible ways. I'm purchasing a dozen or more to hand out to our youth. If this is God at work (which I firmly believe it is), then He will call these youth into prayer and revival. It's a must read for every Christian.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring.... Review: This book is amazing. If you want to read something that will ignite your heart and inspire you to press in to what God is doing in this generation, then look no further. Peter Greig's account of the 24-7 prayer growth across Europe in the world is transparent, honest, and awe-inspiring. It's amazing how God is using weak and broken people world-wide to fulfill his plans. If you're looking for something that will help key you in to what God is doing on the earth right now, then pick this book up.
