Summary: Great Book
Review: Ravi's book is an excellent book that really touches the subject of suffering very well. It's an amazing book which really tells the world that Christianity is not a blind faith but truly based on logic and evidence. A definite book for all, skeptics included.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Ravi is God's man of the hour around the world at this time!
Review: This book is an intellectual stormhouse of story-tellin' apologetics. Ravi has a way of writing that captures every sense of his reader. Not only is this book packed with great apologetics, but it lifts you up to a level that makes you want to reach out to the skeptic and give him/her the truth of the gospel message! I have had the wonderful opportunity to take a course from Ravi at SES, and from personal experience I can honestly tell you that this book just begins to scratch the surface of his capabilities and gifts that God has richly blessed him with. I highly recommend this book!!

Summary: Good Logic, Good Apologetics, Good Points, Good Defense!
Review: Being a good Mormon Boy, you wouln'd expect me to like a book written by a Potestant apologist. However, I loved this book. Dr. Zacharias does a superb defense of the theistic world view and the vacuous and vanity of athiesm and antitheism. The appendicies are wonderful. Memorize the book!

Summary: The appendix at the back is worth the price of the book!
Review: This book is the clearest, most concise presentation yet of the viability and necessity of the Christian faith. It should be read (and re-read) by every thinking Christian. It reads best in small doses (so you can digest what has been read) but is amazingly easy to read.

Summary: Man Can exist Without God
Review: Man has attempted by his own pretext to circumvent life and death issues for millenia. What generally and specifically comes to pass ad infinitum, is our inability to rationalize a death scenario that co-incides with, and is placated by our human concept of an after life. Man can indeed exist without God, but the tertiarry consequences are unimaginable to the Christian to the same degree that any submission to a supreme authority are to a non-believer. Dr. Zacharias' apologetics are flawless in this regard.

Summary: Incredible!
Review: Zacharias's logic is undeniable, his arguments flawless. He leaves atheist philosophers in disarray as they constantly try to redefine atheism, always digging their holes deeper.

Summary: A plead from authority.
Review: If you want a good Christian apologetic work, this book isn't it. There is nothing here except big words, insults, and arguments from authority. I don't believe there is a single instance where Ravi Zacharas uses logic or reason to prove any of his points. Atheism leads to immorality - why? - because some guy in a Nazi death chamber said that the gaurds didn't believe in god. Evolution isn't true - why? - because Phillip Johnson said so. And so on.

Zacharias needs to read some books on atheism if he wishes to attack it. For one thing, *he doesn't even know what atheism is!!!* He defines atheism as the "dogmatic denial of God" because Paul Edwards and others said so. Of course, he gets absolutely nowhere attacking his straw-man fantasy version of atheism.

This book will work only for Christians, because Zacharias goes on and on about how God wants this and it would be great to believe in his God. Things that only a Christian would agree with, without any forethought or proof.

Summary: Apology at its finest!
Review: A must read for the honest skeptic and for Christians who encounter honest skeptics

Summary: Christian Apologetics for the Postmodern Age.
Review: This is the definitive defense of the Christian faith against postmodern nihilism. Zacharias shines the light of Biblical truth on the intellectual barrenness of the 1990s, and shows how the Christian message provides satisfying antidotes to the prevailing moods of meaninglessness, despair, and hostility toward the very concept of truth. Ravi Zacharias is a worthy successor to C.S. Lewis and Francis Schaeffer

Summary: Revealing the truth about God through Christ
Review: I should start my review by clearly stating that I am a Christian so I did not have much difficulty with the apologetic arguments put forward by Dr. Zacharias in this book. Still, I was very interested to see how he would go about trying to prove God's existence, and more importantly, explaining how God answers the tough questions of life through His son Jesus Christ. Overall, I was very impressed with the book because of the unique blending of materials that Dr. Zacharias uses. He possesses a deep understanding of his material, and is a master at communicating the message - despite recent attempts to kill off the concept of God - He is alive, and still speaks to us today through His Son, His word, and His Holy Spirit.

I read all of the reviews for this book, and I am encouraged that it has received so much attention. Although others may not agree with the author's position, at least, it gets people to talk about things that matter. Real issues that we just don't spend enough time dealing with these days like Does God exist? If so, what does that mean for me? For the world. If not, what does that mean for me, and the world? Is there such a thing as absolut truth? If so, how can we know it (or Him from the Christian perspective). I think that Dr. Zacharias makes an effective attempt at answering these questions, and ultimately, offering the Christian world view.

I especially like the fact that he argues at various levels and brings in numerous stories and illustrations to prove his point. Without these elements, it would be a pretty dry read. Some are bothered by the fact that he does not go into great detail about opposing views, but I think they miss the point. Dr. Zacharias is not writing an academic volume which covers every detail and possible outcome of the various world views. Instead he attempts to show that ideas do have consequences, and we must pay attention to what is possible in the world if we try to make it work without God.

I highly encourage anyone who is interested in this topic to read the book. It may not answer all of your questions, but it will get you thinking. Also, it is not very long, but be warned, it is not light reading. Having said that, I am confident that the average college educated person can handle it. The copy I bought included a CD with the oral presentation that Dr. Zacharias gave upon which the book is based. I recommend listening to the CD before reading the book so that you have an understanding of the framework, and general approach that the author plans to take.
