Rating: Summary: Yes, Mary's telling the truth Review: I read the book "A Divine Revelation of Hell." Why are so many people so offended? Should we continue to walk around in such a "I" "me" world and continue to think that we can do anthing we want when the true reason we're even here on earth is for God to see which of us will be HIS soldiers or follow HIM? But of course we have gone off so far to believe that just about every sin we commit is justified. I thought it was ok to commit suicie. I heard someone who was a Christain say that once you give your life to Christ you can't loose your salvation, well up their on the freeway where I was trying to take my life I was escorted off the freeway by a gentle man who told me that Jesus told him to come and talk to me and that I could go to hell if i tried to take my life. I was very insulted. (I was homeless with a 5 month old baby at the time)....but I was told I could still go to hell. I was a nice person you know, loving and still is considered to be...but the guy told me that I've already given my life to Jesus so it's not mine to take,..... I turned to thank the man after talking with him for a couple of hours and he was gone, dissapeared. Where could he had went?...so I thank God an angel came up on the freeway to tell me the truth even though I did get insulted and ebven shakened up. Just like if I give my life to Jesus, I'm required to obey his word, do his will what ever it is that he tells me. Not because I'm scared, HIS people will automtically want to do HIs will, we just love HIm like that... and hell is real to us, it's part of HIS personality if you can understand, but He is a loving God too but one who'se getting His kingdom together and knows who's going to follow Him already and mentionedthat lots of people are going to hell some who has already given their life to HIM sad to say Matt 12It sounds like the people that Mary K. described in her book were people who either gave their life to Christ and decided that they were going to do what they wanted on their terms or He was asking them to give their life to HIM (I'm sure with a good loving purpose, but they didn't think much of THE MAKER OF ALL THE HEAVENS AND UNIVERSE) to do so. Look at the big picture If Jesus is going to come back and rule on earth one day (some time after the rapture) and the meek and humble people are suppose to inherit the earth....and he said to THOSE WHO FIND THEIR OWN LIFE (particulary those who gave their life away to JESUS, WILL LOOSE IT, but thoss who loose their life (not continue to make their own agendas after you've already given your life to Jesus.) WILL FIND IT...in other words allow HIM to establish your stay here...that's what were suppose to be here for RIGHT?...BELIEVER? to come to the knowledge of Christ and follow HIM. If you're going to continue to do your own thing and belittle or even mess up God's plans for you, then how in the world is HE going to set up a kingdom of meek, humble saints. Where else can self-centered, self willed, arrogant, "I" "me" people who don't believe go? How will He ever establish His kingdom where He will reign forever? Do you think he's going to continue to let little personalities like that take over forever WHO'SE GOD HERE? If you think that Marry K. is foolish or even 1/2 illiterate 1Corinthians: 1:27, BUT GOD HATH CHOSEN THE FOOLISH THINGS OF THE WORLD TO CONFOUND THE WISE; AND GOD HATH CHOSEN THE WEAK THINGS OF THE WORLD TO CONFOUND THE THINGS WHICH ARE MIGHTY. So Please read Mary K. Baxter's book "A DIVINE REVELATION OF HELL" It can/will save your life.
Rating: Summary: preachers child Review: I grew up in the church my father is a preacher and I was taught that hell is real. I strayed away from the teachings of the Bible and rebelled against all of its teachings. Yet in my times of unspeakable occurences in my life I could call upon him and he would comfort me and answer my cries for help, even though I continued to do everything possible that I could to disobey. I was in to witchcraft and even though I thought I was powerful because I made many things happen, the worst being a possesion due to a ritual I performed, I called upon God and he pulled me out of something so horrible that I thought I was destined to go to hell. He forgave me of my sins, but yet again I had such a strong desire to do these things because I could make things happen. Yet God forgave me once more. I believe that the depiction of Hell that was given to Mary K Baxter are true. Some of you have replied by saying that why did God choose her for this horrible and unimaginable depiction of hell. She is not crazy but I believe that she was chosen to see and live through the horrors of Hell because God knew that her belief was that strong and so is her love for God. I have read the Bible from the time I was three years of age and continued reading through my youth due to the fact that I was sent to a Bible School and I had grown to despise all of these things and wanted to get as far away as possible. This book I believed has changed my life by the time she was to the part of the man in the coffin with demons standing around the man and continuosly running spears through his heart, I broke down and cried like a child begging for God to have mercy on my soul and save me and mold me into what he needs me to be. For those of you who did read and compare it to a horror movie, I hope for your own sake that you are right. For a normal women with children and a husband, this is something I believe will torment her soul forever. If this book in any way was made up she should be a number one horror writer in the world. Jesus wept with sorrow as he took her through this hell he still loves even those that are in the lake of fire, even though he had to punish them like a father does his children, but they refused to listen. I have turned my life over to God after reading this book, the torment the nashing of teeth and the lake of fire is all in the Bible. God has given each of us a choice just like our earthly fathers they try to lead us in the path of good and even though it breaks their hearts, they must let us make our own choices. The Bible states that strait is the way and narrow is the path that will lead to salvation, he gave us a choice and after reading this I know their is a hell with horrors beyond our greatest imagination. I believe god called this women so that she could plead with all of us to call up on Jesus and be saved and I have no doubt that what she endured for 40 days was real and from God and please take heed to the things in this book that you will be saved. That your families and children will be saved. Please heed Gods warning and give your life to him for he loves us so. I have passed this book on and I hope to continue to pass it on so that no one will have to go to Hell. Please ask god to save your soul because when the end comes it will be to late, and those of you with children do not want them to go to this place of torment. I give this book five stars because reading my bible hand in hand with this book has changed me and I will never be the same again. Please, please listen before it is to late. God loves everyone of us and all we have to do is ask forgiveness. Which is not a small price to pay he gave up his only son to save our souls. God loves us all no matter who we are or what we have done. Please take heed beacause the time is near.
Rating: Summary: Please compare this book carefully with the whole Bible. Review: The message of the reality of hell is an important one in the gospel of salvation. It is important for people to be convinced that they have something to be saved from. Unfortunately the contents of this book are not a biblical description of that reality.
At the beginning "hell" is equated with the "lake of fire" in Revelation Chapter 20, into which "Death" and "Hades" are thrown for eternity. However, throughout the rest of the 'vision', "hell" is equated with the current realm of the dead ("Hades") and said to be facing destruction in the "lake of fire" in the end. Which one is true? The Bible clearly equates hell with judgement of the final kind, such as everlasting, or eternal, destruction (2 Thessalonians 1v8-9) or the second death in the book of Revelation (to which the "lake of fire" in Revelation 20 refers). Therefore, either the 'vision' was very confused or the majority of it is profoundly contrary to Scripture.
This just one of the errors, but the most important. The sentiments of the 'vision' are certainly compatible with the Bible's revelation of the heart of God, but its contents are not. May God continue to save souls from hell, in spite of the weaknesses of His people.
Rating: Summary: A Divine Revelation of Hell Review: This book is a vivid description of the hell that awaits all of those that fail to choose Jesus Christ. The testimonies in this book, while incredible, will convict you and help you to examine yourself and your place with God. Test it against the Spirit of God in yourself and see what the Lord reveals to you, about you. If one soul comes to know Christ and avoids the description of hell given in this book, it is all worth it. Don't allow "know it all M.div's" to destroy this book for you and limit the grace of God which is free to all that believe and keep on believing! God's grace is matchless and exceeding, escaping the confinement of a theology that limits the complete atonement of a loving God who chooses to continue revealing himself to the world through his chosen people. Get this book and read it often! J. Ray B.A.,M.Div,D.Min.
Rating: Summary: Close.... But no Cigar Review: Having read Divine Revelations of Hell by Mary Baxter as well as The Demon Chronicles, by Louie Orduna all I can say is these Hell travelers must have taken differnt busses to their respective destinations. Orduna's trip was exciting and interesting to no end. Mary's was a real sleeper. This leads one to believe that either one or the other was dreaming, or that Hell has differnt bus stops labled economy and first class. I say this to Mary...."If you have the time read Orduna's book. It will give you something to remember !
Rating: Summary: The worst Christian book ever written Review: This tripe deserves not even a "1". A "0" would even be too nice. "A Divine Revelation of Hell" has only one salient use: kindling for a fireplace. Better yet, torch it in a bonfire.
This garbage shouldn't even recieve a "-5". To use this book to scrub oil off a mechanic shop floor would be an insult to the oil AND the mechanic shop floor.
It is obvious to even well-educated children that Baxter is mentally ill and a paranoid delusional scizophrenic. This is fear served up as faith, insanity served up as inspiration. Actually, I guess it COULD be used to line a gerbil cage. I guess the book DOES have another use.
Now, Mary, just calm down and have a nice cup of cocoa and maybe some depressants. You need to calm down and actually study the Scriptures rather than believe what your mommy/daddy/preacherman taught you, ok? Shhhhh....it's OK, Mary. Shhhhhhhhhhh........
Rating: Summary: divine revelation of hell Review: OK PEOPLE TIME TO WAKE UP.. Those that do not believe and say that this book is a lie, wake up and smell the coffee... hell is very real the the reason God gave Mary the revelation was to warn as many people as possible so that people can not say when the day of judgement comes "I did not know" Then it will be to late.. So the reviewers that say that this is unbibical wake up and let the Lord show you the way... before it is to late.. God bless you all the unbelievers..
Rating: Summary: Charismatic Theology Takes A Turn For The Worst Review: Allow me to throw my two cents in with the over 200 others who have reviwed this book. Many feel the book is from God and offers salvation to those who read it and take Baxter's vision to heart. Others simply attack the visions of Baxter or those who have written reviews on the book. I just want to deal with the content of the book itself.
The book gets a two star from me simply because from the beginning of the book until the end you are focused on Baxter's vision. Her vision is simply incrediable! As you read the book you can't help but picture hell as she describes it in the book. Over and over again she reassures the reader that hell is not made for us humans but for the demons and Satan and that if we repent we will not have to suffer in hell. Thank God for that!
The negative aspects of the book are just too many to tell. First is the theology of the book. Frankly put, what theology? Baxter is obviously a charismatic but she never sets forth a sound theology from Scripture on hell or even on salvation (for which Jesus wanted her to write the book).
Secondly, is why does Jesus want to give us this revelation through Baxter? If the Bible is complete (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Rev. 22:18-19) why do we need a new revelation of hell? Did Jesus not tell us enough in the Bible? Should we add Baxter's book as the 67th book of our Canon?
Third, where is the biblical justification for such a book? Baxter never attempts to reconcile her visions with Scripture. Even charismatic teachers such as Bill Hamon and Jack Hayford believe that all visions, dreams, prophetic words should be weighed against the authority of the Bible. This simply does not happen in this book and Baxter ends her book without ever writing a chapter to examine her vision by the clear teachings on hell from the pages of holy writ.
In conclusion, this simply is a poor book. Those who live their lives based on subjective experiences may find this book intriguing but those committed firmly to the authority of Scripture will not find any value in reading Baxter's book. Stick with the biblical revelation of hell and not the twisted visions from this book.
Rating: Summary: THIS BOOK IS REAL!!! Review: I purchased and read this book over 9 years ago and I STILL remember it as if I read it yesterday! This is a very powerful book! I would advise EVERYONE who want to experience the TRUTH to read it. Another customer claimed that there were no "biblical truths"..People please DON'T LISTEN TO THAT LIE!!! Please always remember that what Jesus told her at the end of every chapter, John the Baptist also said those things!! Repent for the time is near!. Please also remember we can't put God in a box and just say that HE only said this or that and that's it! I wouldn't test it and I do believe if she said she experienced those things, she did and it's very real! So please believe it!
Enjoy this book! I know I did!
God Bless You All!
Rating: Summary: hokey and unbiblical Review: This book is far from a divine revelation. Aside from the fact that hell is described as your typical Wes Craven horror flick, the real error here is why some of the people are in hell. True Born-again believers who "did not repent in time" were suffering the tortures of hell. I see....you don't need works to get saved but certain bad works will unsave you. There must be an eraser on the pen that writes people's names in the Book of Life. To top it all off, the author claims that she had to experiance the pain and torment of hell for herself so that she could warn others how it feels to be fried like a strip of bacon. Then she awoke and was sick for days and was extremely fearful. This book is nonsense that seeks to control the believer's daily walk with God through fear. If you want a book that tells a Christian he could still go to hell for works, especially the ones that are taboo in the Pentecostal chuch, buy this book. If you know your bible, this book will give you a laugh. This is what happens when "feel good, seems right" nonsense comes out and people just blindly believe when in fact scripture does not back up this trash. SOLA SCRIPTURA!!
