Summary: A great reference for Christians and non-believers alike.
Review: I suspect that no one was more surprised at the enormous success of the 'Left Behind' novels than the authors, Jerry Jenkins and Dr. Tim LaHaye. Although this book is obviously packaged to appeal to readers of the series, there's real meat here, much of it derived from two earlier books by Dr. LaHaye on the book of Revelation and the on-going debate over the timing of the Rapture. Christians familiar with biblical prophecies of the end-times will find this a handy reference, while readers with no real Bible knowledge will find a lot to think about. Both groups will enjoy the historical references and background, particularly those relating to the modern-day regathering of the nation of Israel after so many centuries in exile. Agree or disagree, no one will be bored by this book! Read it, ponder it, then ask yourself: "Could all this really happen in my lifetime?" You may be surprised by your final answer. Enjoy.

Summary: Lahaye and Jenkins pull no punches!
Review: 'Are We Living In The End Times' has re-awakened my interest in biblical prophecy and future events from an 'end-times' perspective. Unlike a previous reviewer who charged 'Pan-Americanism', I find nothing of the sort. The hotbed of activity in the final days will be in the Middle East and the surrounding areas, not the West (I don't think the USA will even be around, much less a factor in prophetic events) and the authors decry the corporate greed of American capitalists in one section of the book. The 'Personalities' section was particularly helpful. Recommended reading for believers and seekers.

Summary: Junk
Review: These guys are ignoramuses. Talk about false prophets! You don't have to be a sanctimonious bull artist to be Christian. These jokers have a powerful political agenda that has nothing to do with the Sermon on the Mount or the Golden Rule. And I vote Republican. Come on, people, think for yourselves!

Summary: A MUST READ BOOK
Review: Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins should be commended for this wonderful book on Bible Prophecy. It is a subject that has had much disrepute brought upon (as well as Christianity) in general, because of date setters, and people bending the scriptures to fit there pat theories. LaHaye and Jenkins instead give us an excellent, sober, and intelligent, line by line cometary of the Book of Revelations in an easy to read manor; they also being in scriptures from all the Great Bible Prophets (both Old Testament and New testament) as well as from the Lord Jesus Christ. This Book is a must read for all Christians to promote Holly Living in an evil age and to spur evangelism and IS A MUST READ FOR ALL NON CHRISTIANS AS WELL. I would challenge everyone to read this book. If you see the Prophecies happening as laid out in the HOLLY BIBLE then you can chose to Believe. What do you have to lose?

Summary: A Helpful Guide to the Left-Behind Series
Review: Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins have really contributed to Biblical understanding of the end-times with this book. There are many books on prophecy, but this one is written with the common person in mind, assuming that they are not experts on the finer points of eschatology.

What is great about this book is that it takes snippets from Left Behind and then explains them biblically. Understanding prophecy can be overwhelming and confusing, but they give timelines, helpful information and they speak to the common believer.

This book is a needed followup for Left Behind. It will really sharpen your knowledge of Bible prophecy and coming events.

Summary: don't buy it
Review: From so called experts you'd think you would get more then just what is constantly repeated. For me it was a waste of $15 dollars. Obviously they wrote this book to capitalize on recent interest in end times. Don't buy it...

Summary: A contemporary look at Bible prophecy...
Review: LaHaye and Jenkins' "Are We Living in the End Times?" directly confronts world events and comments on biblical prophecies made thousands of years ago that clearly mirror many of those events. Written in layman's terms, with a flowing style and chronology, this is a book interested readers can burn through in a couple of hours. Breaking down the events of The Great Tribulation, the book reads like the non-fiction version of the authors' popular fiction series "Left Behind".

The book is divided into three parts: context, events, and personalities. The opening chapters explore the context of current events in relation to Biblical prophecy, while providing a background on the unfailing accuracy of Old and New Testament prophets in their predictions. The second part catalogues the many events of the Tribulation, starting with the coalition of invading forces against Israel and the Rapture, and ending with the last rebellion against God. The third and final part of the book analyzes the personalities of the age - Satan, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the Two Witnesses, and the Tribulation Saints and Martyrs.

Every student of end-times Bible prophesy, whether a novice or the most seasoned of scholars, will find some merit in reading this book. Exciting and informative, it will open your eyes to the realities confronting our generation and present new and innovative ways of viewing God and the world in which we live. If seeing Israel in the news night after night has peaked your interest, read this book and learn more about why such events are not coincidence, but rather part of a divine plan.

Summary: Required Reading About the End Times & 'Left Behind' series
Review: Tim LaHaye's 'Are We Living in the End Times' is a great supplement reading to help you follow the story line of the 'Left Behind' series. LaHaye uses excerpts from the various 'Left Behind series' books to explain where each one is laid out according to prophecy. It examines the current events foretold in scripture and what they mean. It clearly lays out current events as they relate with the scriptural timetable. The book contains picture diagrams and carefully outline explanations of every event from our present time to the end of the ages. This book gives lots of reasons for believing that the Rapture and the Tribulation could occur during our generation. It's look into future events are, at least to be appreciated for it's thorough study of Revelations and the prophetic books of the Bible.

If you don't have time to read through all the 'Left Behind' books try this book as a shortcut to the last days and the signs of the times. Some events mentioned in the book have soon passed. But they do give close to a pinpoint prediction where we are in the prophecy timetable. Since September 11, 2001 begins the countdown what soon maybe the End Time. Another source suggestion is 'War on Terror' by Grant Jeffery. He explains the meaning of the catastropic events and how they fit into the End Time prophecy.

Summary: One of the best books on prophecy
Review: Having just finished "Conquest of Paradise: An End-Times Nano-Thriller", my interest was peaked in regard to end times bible prophecy. The imagery from that book made the apocalypse seem all too real, so I figured I look for more on the subject. The only such I've read before is Hal Lindsey's "The Late Great Planet Earth". LaHaye and Jenkins handle the subject much better. The subject matter is very linear in its presentation and makes the subtle aspects of the Book of Revelation and the prophecies of Daniel easily understandable. After reading this book, if you're a Christian, you will find it difficult not agree that the Second Coming is near. For those who want additional reading, I highly recommend "Conquest of Paradise". I couldn't put that book down, and it had ideas in it that I've never heard before. Overall, this is one of the best end times books on the market. LaHaye and Jenkins do a great job.

Summary: Take me home!
Review: This book was an excellent read! Lahaye and Jenkins have scored another hit book. There proof from scripture was fantastic. This book will leave you feeling as if the rapture could happen at any time. I never knew how much proof of the end times was already happening. Don't pass up this book!
