Summary: Not a very thorough conspiracy...
Review: (...)

You would think that if the Romans were going to create a new unifying state religion, they would also create overwhelming historical, and governmental documentation testifying to the existence of their new god incarnate. This apparently is the same documentation that the author can't find. Seems like a pretty shabby conspiracy to me. If you can create a book that convinces billions of people to believe a religion, that according to the author isn't based on any fact, I would think that you could forge some historical documents?

Summary: What is more likely???
Review: Quote from Review below
"Is it more absurd to believe that God created the world, inspired the bible and that devils were behind the pagan gods? Or is it more absurd to believe that the pagans made up the gods for no good reason and that the old and new testament were made up by conspirators to control humanity?"

Well, let me see...what is less likely? One: Literaly,God, in the form of a man, created every molecule in the entire universe with his physical hands in just six days, and thereafter needed to use lesser people to help "control people." There is no longer any new creations in the Earth, and no new creatures are being created.
Two: Nature is God, nature is always evolving and God and truth are always evolving. There is no beginning and end to creation, and everything is infinite. Nature's creations eventually became smart enough through natural processes to try and sway one another to worship them instead of nature and call themselves, "prophets." Paganism, the religion of nature, is taken away and replaced by a church that burns all books and bans independent learning. This is so that people will pay a bunch of money to them and they can become rich.

Well, considering that paganism itself was used by the governments and the rich of the world (uh hum...india's caste system) to control the masses, I do not think it to far fetched that men, who created the Vedas, Koran, and Book of Mormon could create the Bible. It seems more likely that a man could create a bible than an entire universe, sorry to burst your bubble of vainity, white supremacy, and the belief that homo sapiens are the crown of God's creation.

Summary: rated low for writing style, not subject matter
Review: The author has done the research and the facts are truly fascinating and believable, but I just couldn't get past her obvious contempt of Christianity. It comes across as unprofessional and somewhat juvenile. There is nothing wrong with expressing your opinion in your work, but please, just let the facts speak for themselves! There are so many other, better written books on this subject out there that are so much easier to read.

Summary: The Most Complete Work You Need To Read
Review: This is by far the most comprehensive book on the subject that I have read so far, and I have read a lot. Such a simple yet profound title: Christ Conspiracy, for what Christinaity is today is nothing more than a facade of lies that Americans have bought for way too long. It's time for a change. I like the way she systematically goes through every important area of Christianity from its history to its origin and necessary thought processes most Christians falsely imagined were original. I learned quite alot about things I had no idea were true. I grew up in a very strict Baptist home(don't feel sorry for me I'm over it now-but thanks for the sympathy) and have been told things were a "certain way" all my life and how dare you question this or that, that would put me "out of God's will" and I would go to hell. Needless to say I am happy to be out of God's will, at least according to my Baptist cronies that I have left behind in a tailspin. And I have been to hell and made it back okay: the brochure is worse than the ride. I think it's safe to say that "God's will" is for all of us to be content with ourselves- but that's a whole-nother discussion.
I like how Acharya supports all her major points in the book. She pretty well covers every area that needs to be spoken of and does so with precision and authority that is hard to find these days. I am glad to have finally found an explanation for the book of Revelations- no one that I know of has given one so well. Revelations is a difficult book to understand or describe but she does so with ease and credibility. It's also about time people begin spreading the word that no major biblical character-such as Jesus- ever existed. Who would have thought to announce such a controversial yet exhilirating idea 20 years ago. Fundamentalist Christians need to realize that their time is over and now is the time for what I call a "New Theology". A spiritual shift is taking place in the world at this time and I am glad to see someone like Acharya leading the way for those of us who formerly had been duped. I have found a new happiness in this knowledge that she has shared with the world. I can honestly say that I am much happier now than most if not all of the Christians that I grew up with because of this information that I have found. Keep spreading the new "Good News" of truth until everyone is enlightened.

Summary: pure bunk
Review: Its intresting to read some of the reviews here. I bought and read this book. I wish I hadn't. It's a rule with me, to look at objections to a claim to get at truth, even if its tripe presented in this "scholarly" book. Acharyas claim as presented in this book is that Christ and christianity was made up as a state religion by conspirators to gain control. To do this the conspirators put together the supposed divine births, deaths and resurrections of the pagan gods and melded it all into the new god:Jesus Christ. The church fathers knew about these gods long ago and had an explanation for it. A verse taken from the Bible says; "All the gods of the pagans are devils." Taking their clue from this the church fathers had an easy explanation for zeus, saturn, athena and the rest of the gods. Sound farfetched? Lets see. Is it more absurd to believe that God created the world, inspired the bible and that devils were behind the pagan gods? Or is it more absurd to believe that the pagans made up the gods for no good reason and that the old and new testament were made up by conspirators to control humanity? Sounds like God and the Bible are genuine and that a lot of people have been duped by a satanic con game. By all means read the book to get the other sides story... weak as it is. But read it with a large dose of salt.

Summary: A Theological Historian Examines The Christ Conspiracy
Review: I have been asked by the author to write a foreword to her upcoming book 'Suns of God.' Because I try to never accept any charge without fully understanding the material and the ideology of the writer, Acharya was kind enough to send me a copy of the Christ Conspiracy, which I had read in my last year at seminary. As an ex parochial Vicar, and a reasonably learned Biblical Historian, I feel I have the education to undertake an objective view of The Christ Conspiracy. The stand of Christianity is that Yeshua Ben Joseph is, as the New Testament claims, the only begotten son of God, whose sacrifice was made to save us from our sins. However, there exists more than overwhelming evidence that not only was Yeshua, or 'Jesus' not anyone of special abilities or a divine personage, but in fact probably never existed as a real person. As I re-read The Christ Conspiracy I was able to recognize many of the author's conclusions that I had myself stumbled across in my nearly eight years as a seminary student. It was my quest to understand the oldest manuscripts we have on the life of Jesus that prompted me to undertake fours years of Koine Greek, the language of the New testament, as well as over three years of Aramaic, Hebrew and Latin. I was very surprised at what I found. The translations were more polemics than true translations. I had, at that time found only one scholarly writer who seemed to have the required language skills and historic training to make these same deductions. As a reader of these 'dead' languages, Acharya has access to the earliest copies of the claimed Holy Scripts. What becomes clear in The Christ Conspiracy is that the author does not begin from a theological point, that the Bible is fact and expands from there, but instead from a scientific and historical point, assuming nothing and allowing the materials to spe4ak for themselves. The results are rather extraordinary. The material is presented in a chronological and factual way, and can be cross-referenced by a reading of earliest Greek and Aramaic texts. What seems overwhelmingly clear is that the humanity of Jesus, long debated by Christian scholars, is laid out in such fine detail using the writing of the 'Early Church Fathers' that the very existence of Jesus is shown to be myth. Entered ideology of Paul's followers sometime around 150 CE this savior is merely the creation of many threads of Christian sects, which by that time had spread across the Roman world. The purpose of these Church Fathers, according to the author, was to create a unifying state religion for Rome by absorbing all other religions in part or whole and melding them within Christianity. The author has proven her thesis by showing, rather clearly that the previously dominant gods were made into Saints or Angels or even Apostles, all subject to this new god. Acharya places before the reader an overwhelming amount of excellently formulated information. Readers will soon see the connection between the ancient zodiacal religions, and early Christianity. Many people, atheist or agnostic may discount the divinity of this man Jesus, but accept that the man did exist. This question has never been shown better than in this book. Christianity, as many of us know, is a fraud perpetrated on pliable and emotionally immature minds. Should these same people allow themselves to read this book with an open mind, many would abandon their 'faiths' as mental pabulum.
Finally, I am saddened to see this book suffer the same suppression that my own books have due to their titles alone. For anyone seeking truth need but read this book and the title will become clear.

Summary: Believable - Important!
Review: This subject is so unbelievable that at first I just shrugged it off as ridiculous. Then I started studying the Roman Empire and the history of Judaism and was astonished at how little if anything was said about Jesus.

I ordered a few books on the subject and must say that this book is the most thorough. Unlike many other books, this book deals more with the crucial questions of what might have motivated church leaders to just make this story up.

I'm not ready to say I'm 100% sure Jesus didn't exist but I'm definitely not the type I used to be when I believed that everything in the Bible was 100% accurate...that for sure is not true. Another reason I strongly recommend this book is that it draws on the work of several historians, theologians, philosophers, and egyptologists. It must have taken a decade to compile all the info. All in all this is the best book for your money on this subject.

If you are open minded and looking for those books begging for its pages to be turned...look no further. I just read a copy of Edgar Fouche's 'Alien Rapture,' which also blew me away. Fouche was a Top Secret Black Program 'insider', whose credibility has been verified over and over.

Another fun book is Brad Steiger's 'Werewolf.' I also really liked Dan Brown's 'Deception Point,' and 'Angels and Demons.' Want to be shocked, check out Dr. Paul Hill's 'Unconventional Flying Objects' which NASA tried to ban, and always read the Amazon reviews.

Summary: Oh Brother, could this book be anymore ridiculous?
Review: Well my agnostic friend pretty much summed it up! This author hasn't a clue as to what she is talking about, and I made it less far through the book than she.

Like my agnostic friend I too am working on my graduate degree, and in the first 5 minutes I refuted the claims of this book as to not having references of the gospels in early works such as Justin Martyr. What nonsense! Justin Martyr quotes Matthew and Luke all over the place. Has this author even read The Apologies of Justin or the Gospels? I doubt it. She is probably just parroting someone, some professor or someone else she thought sounded cool and didn't take a minute to look into any of this herself. It is egregious. From Justin Martyrs First Apology:

"Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her, hath committed adultery with her already in his heart before God." And, "If thy right eye offend thee, cut it out; for it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of heaven with one eye, than, having two eyes, to be cast into everlasting fire." And, "Whosoever shall marry her that is divorced from another husband, committeth adultery."

Man if that isn't a dead ringer for Matthew 5, I don't know what is.

Don't be stupid and believe every accusatory thing you read from no-name authors.

Summary: Christ Conspiracy - The Greatest Story Ever Told

Summary: The Christ Conspriacy: The Greatest Story Ever Told
Review: What a refreshing and wonderful work of scholarship! Recently I have read the works of Celsus, Porphyry, Julian and Galen as well as Christian apologies such as Eusebius, Tertullian and the gospels. When I read this particular work, I can almost hear the voices of the Classical past crying "For shame! What have you done to our beliefs in reason, philosophy and to our tolerance?" One can hear the voices of Socrates and Plato waking from the grave to condemn the arrogance and disdain towards wisdom that Christian apologists demonstrated. Acharya S has brought back to life the 2nd and 3rd centuries philosophers who rightly viewed with contempt a religion based on lies, forgeries and intolerance of reason. Even more so, her research and documentation are outstanding. Only faith will sustain the stubborn Christian in their beliefs once they read this work. For it can not be sustained by reason, history, truth and philosophy. Had Acharya S written in the time of Theodorus or Justian, not just her works would have met the fate of fire! I strongly recommend this work. But be prepared to be shaken!
