I appreciate a concise source with as much information as possible as close as possible to the section I am studying. The companion bible offers word corrections in the side column, marking the alternate translations with a small circle above the word in question. This is barely noticable in the king james column and does not distract from reading the unaltered king james text.I've noticed in reviews here that some of these corrections are controversial, but they can easily be verified by looking up the original language. I haven't found any inaccuracies, and have not found the occasional opinion included by Bullinger to be offensive, although I find him a bit too "religious" for my taste. That's understandable, because only someone very motivated would have worked so hard to produce such an extensive work. All in all I'd rate this as a good bible for people who don't want to be influenced by other people's or churches opinions and feel capable to come to their own conclusion based on knowing all of the possible translations for specific words contained in a passage being studied. This bible might be confusing for a beginner, but for a beginner anything but a gifted teacher will be confusing, and it's better to stick with some technical help than to risk falling into the hands of a particular church's doctrine, which you will do with most modern translations. When using this bible, don't be lazy, or else you probably won't get much value out of it. If you see a small mark over a word, go to the side column to see the alternate translations. Most of the time this will pay off well.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: For deeper students Review: The fact is, that in order to understand the Fathers word we need to go back to the original languages. (You have read this from most of the other reviews, bar a few) Also, we need to understand that the Scripture (s) when translated to English from the original tongues (in most cases) does not portray the true meaning of what the Father wrote. Make no mistake, this is done with a purpose! There are many scriptures that state that many of His children will not understand His word? Why? Because we do not take the time, knowledge brings wisdom and wisdom allows you to apply His word in your life. The more you apply His word the more He reveals to you. What I will comment on is the legitimacy of the Companion Bible. The Companion is the KJV but it also gives you the option (along with other needed study tools) of reading and absorbing the meaning of the phrase, word, parable, etc, from the original language. Don't get me wrong many other Bibles also do this but they choose to do the research for you and then change the translation for you! Will you really allow a stranger make a life altering decision for you? The Companion also leaves out mans traditional religious thinking. A reviewer wrote that Bullinger leaves out some of these traditions and that the Companion is based in part, on little or no true information. The Companions author had the wisdom to understand that no one flesh being completely understands all of the Fathers word. Bullinger gives you the options to form your own understanding. Bullinger comes clean and states that the answer is not clear or you can tell when something is supposition. God states that His word is of no private interpretation. To gain Knowledge and wisdom which equates to the Fathers Blessings in your life, one must do their own study. This is what makes the Companion Bible so important for Gods children. If you are truly sincere in finding what God said in His letters to us, the Companion Bible is one of the reference tools you need. For the serious student it is a must. For the curious that have studied for themselves but have hit a dead end, it will inspire thoughts and questions. The Companion will allow you to start to understand Gods word for yourself. In a way that will answer many questions about the past, present and future periods of the time. Our role in the Fathers eternal plan depends on understanding scripture as correct as fleshly possible. The Companion allows you to rid yourself of the fantasy, mysticism, mystery and mans traditional thinking that has been wrongly injected into the Fathers Words. With His Blessings.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Bible Companion Review: The Bible Companion by E.W. Bullinger is simply a King James Version Bible, with a great amount of helpful information in it's 198 appendixes'. It's marginal notes are often more helpful than some full concordances to the Greek and Hebrew translations. Bullinger clearly proves his appendixes with a full understanding of the word of God. This is not an opinion Bible, as most study Bibles. Rather a keen reference tool and KJV in one. God Bless you.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: More Bullinger than the Bible! Review: The Word of God is always good, but this Bible is so full of one man's odd opinions, that God's words are almost printed as an after thought. It seems to be a vehicle for Mr Bullinger's ultradispensational views. I found all the marginal notes not only confusing, but down right distracting. This is for the student who is really not looking for God's Word, but for a doctrine of a man.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Somewhat confusing... Review: After reading all the positive reviews about the Companion Bible I decided that this one would be the ultimate Study Bible. The only one I would ever need. But how disappointed I was when I actually opened it. My first impression: confusing and crowded pages. The "Railway" structuring method given at the beginning of each book, and repeated in the marginal notes, is highly confusing. Repeating them in the notes is just plain redundancy and does not really make sense. Also, too many abbreviations and unneccesary explanations given in the notes, leading to more confusion even to the advanced student. However, I liked the Appendices at the end of this Bible. It contains material I haven't seen in other Bibles. The binding is strong and better than the other Bibles I own. The ribbons are also quite useful. Conclusion: I would not recommend this Bible as a primary and only Study Bible, especially not to the beginning student or the recently converted. I still prefer my Quest (NIV) Study Bible and my NIV Topical Study Bible. If you are considering buying this Companion Bible, I recommend you to take a look at it first. Don't judge the book only by the reviews.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Only present-day divinely given knowledge of GOD's Word Review: To the 1611 KJV, God has given all understanding and knowledge of the Scriptures through Bullinger's notes, structures and explanations with 198 appendixes - there is no other like it. If you want to know what dispensation (=administration) we are in today, and what erroneous dispensation all leadership in churches are preaching today, you will find it in the notes etc. to this KJV. Only confusion and apostacy occurs when peoples are preached the wrong administration God does with His people. This version of the KJV puts back ALL the reverence that is due to the Almighty and in Bullinger's notes etc. it will be seen how saints own Jesus Christ AS Lord. Bullinger's notes etc tell us exactly where we are in GOD's timeframe and most clearly what will happen when the dispensation changes. The highest praise and thanks and blessed be our Wondrous LORD for His Grace in preserving all this fantastic written word to guide those of His people and others who may be interested. In the Name of Our Lord Jesus.

The companion column is very helpful to anyone who likes to study the bible. The appendixes at the end do a lot of research, which saves the person alot of time researching. Enjoy it-it's a Godsend.

The "truth" of God's Word is revealed. You learn to compare what is taught in today's churches with what God is really trying to tell us and find that what is being taught is merely traditions of men.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A must for every truth seeker Review: This Bible was originally published in 1885 as the Parallel Bible and has not been altered. I purchased my first one about 1950 from The Lamp Press Ltd. in London. It is a fantastic work that should be read every day by true believers.
