Summary: Total balderdash, and badly written to boot
Review: Before buying this book, or making up your mind about its validity, run a search on "Bible Code Skeptic" and read some of the articles that come up--everything from statistical refutations of the original experiments done to the work of a group of scholars who found JFK's death "foretold" in Moby Dick. The fact of the matter is that in any text of such considerable length, "significant" results will be found to be "encoded". Any book whose "review" requires this many "quotation marks" can't be too good...

Summary: What a bunch of CRAP!!!
Review: For further information on my review, please refer to the summary. Aside from the fact that the author doesn't have a logical leg to stand on, it proves nothing and is poorly written taboot. If there was something lower than one star this steaming pile of wood pulp would recieve it and shortly after be relocated to the bathroom, where it would serve a higher purpose. Man, oh man, anybody can get published these days.

Summary: Repetitive, repetitive, repetitive
Review: How many times do the predictions discovered have to be mentioned? How many times do I have to read about predictions of Rabin's assasination? By the middle of the book, I just kept thinking, "you made your point, get on with it". I won't pass judgement on the arguments presented in the book but I will on the writing and the writing stinks.

Summary: Great Beginner's/Introductory Book to the Bible Code
Review: Drosnin's Book is a good beginner's bood in learning about the truth's behind the Bible Code. The book is fun and easy to read. Drosnin does a nice job in supporting the astounding codes with scientific evidence.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Drosnin has stimulated other researchers, too.
Review: The reviewer, writing from Princeton on November 24th 98, raises the point of copyist errors. Evidently, Drosnin has stimulated many other researchers - in South Africa, the Integrese Institute has decoded a message from all languages, where copyist errors are ruled out completely, since they are hidden within individual words. There are no other answers, since the answers are hidden in our words for `answer,' `solution,' etc., For example, if you're considering that the Creator might actually be the DNA SPIRAL, itself, you will know you have hit on the right answer if you can find a word for `answer,' which will confirm this. In Italian, the terms for `answer' are: LA RISPOSTA You can reveal that answer, by just re-arranging the letters, like this: STO LA SPIRA! That means: I AM THE SPIRAL! Of course, this is merely one anagram, but many hundreds of other anagrams accurately identify all aspects of the DNA molecule. I am positive that this work of the Integrese Insitute will consolidate the code that Drosnin has described since it gives accurate details of the main `engine' or `biolgical machine' that constucts every living cell. And data concerning The Creation are what the Kabblalists have always been searching for all along. Drosnin should be credited for arousing non-believers into seriously examining evidence for the existence of The Creator as well as for stirring up all this other research.

Summary: Drosnin's Bible Code stirs people to open their minds, too.
Review: The third reader's review, dated June 7, 1997, pinpoints the real significance of Drosnin's effort. It represents the willingness of a non-believer to open his mind wide to the possible existence of a Supreme Being and a readiness to share a personal response to some strong evidence. His writing has really aroused and stimulated the interest of the world. This is a true turning point. Moreover, the work of the Israeli researchers is just the start. Drosnin's description of the israeli research is not the only project decoding the Bible. In South Africa, the Integrese Institute will be releasing its research papers in stages from January 1999. Their topic is THE SECOND CODE: REVERSING BABEL. This project has decoded the manner in which languages were inter-mixed at Babel. Messages from the Creator spill out of ordinary words, when their constituent letters are re-arranged. I obtained a sample of the decoding by e-mailing them (integrese@webmail.co.za). Whereas the Israeli research focusses on biblical texts, the South African project analyses language in general, using many languages to activate a key to finding the `knowledge of God,' that is encrypted in Proverbs 2. This unlocks hidden statements from God that both confirm his knowledge of what we learn in Science classes and attaches His Signature to each item. The answers are hidden in everyday, ordinary words right under our noses. For example, "I am that I am" is a statement referring to God, that no one has successfully elaborated. However, this changes with The Second Code. The only ground rule for this decoding is that if the words of the world's languages were `scrambled' by God, as stated in Genesis 11, He must have composed every word. Therefore the specific mix of letters that spells out a word can be re-arranged to reveal another statement, hidden behind it - if there is one there! Look at this one, extraordinary example: As every cell of all living flora and fauna is constructed by the DNA molecule that resides in the nucleus of a cell, it seems a fair bet that God is the DNA SPIRAL. If the correct answer is `yes' and if God made all languages, all we have to do is search through them until we find a word for `answer,' that can be re-organised into words that yield a precisely matching reply. And here it is: The Italian word for `Answer' is: RISPOSTA And the letters of that word can be re-arranged to make the following affirmative response: STO SPIRA! In English, this means: I AM THE SPIRAL! It seems that The Second Code could really prove irrefutable. After all, it's only logical that a God who knows everything must know all languages. If He designed everything, why not languages too? Of course! Michael Drosnin did not set out to cover every aspect of hidden codes. He gives his own personal reaction to them and that is very valuable because it has stimulated people around the world to contribute their own responses and to keep their thinking caps on. To those who are unsatisfied that the code, described by Drosnin, yields blurred rather than sharply defined glimpses of future events, I suggest that perhaps God doesn't really want to give you an exact means of knowing precisely what your next-door neighbour will be doing a week in advance and it's His way of telling you what is for His eyes only. While The Second Code also confirms in retrospect what we already know, it brings God's signature into clear view and also enhances this prospect: those who have learned a certain amount of science are in a position to work out the remainder. In physics, answers are deemed likely to be correct if a rigid, mathematical proof appears to confirm a theory. But, if accurate, sciencitifc data lie hidden in the ordinary words of human languages, the Second Code may provide a short-cut - that's as easy playing Scrabble - to answers that scientists have not yet worked out! Incidentally, The Second Code has already located some equations, lying hidden in words. An avalanche of hidden information seems poised to tumble from the Bible.

Summary: It amazes me what dribble makes it to print.
Review: As a serious researcher in the field of biblical accuracy, I am always amazed at what lengths humans will go to either 1. Make money (author) or 2. Seek confirmation in a pre-determined notion. This book is succesful at both it sadly appears. One doesn't have to look hard to find the flaws.

Summary: A Few Questions for the Reader to Ponder
Review: What about the validity of the wealth of text-critical information located in the Masoritic text of the Hebrew Scriptures and in any of our Greek texts of both the New Testament and the LXX?

How does this book help one to grow in the faith?

Does not the fact that there have been human copyist errors over the centuries in the transmission of our present texts undermine the accuracy of Drosnin's algorithms?

Is not the Bible to be read with faith and the presence of the Holy Spirit rather than the wisdom of people, as, by the way, "The foolishness of God is wiser than men..."(I Cor. 1:25)?

Summary: The Bible Code is absolute nonsense.
Review: Any person who believes this nonsense is both mathematically illiterate and credulous to the point of dysfunction. A search algorithm can be designed and applied to any body of words to get whatever result one wishes. In fact, this has been done to War and Peace. I recommend purchasing War and Peace over The Bible Code. War and Peace is great literature and may actually teach you something. Save your money on this one.
