Summary: The reveal of the code is exciting .
Review: I am a citizen of Turkey and must admit that after having read this amazing book I was shocked not to find a single line about the disaster that has been going on in my country since 17th August,1999. I am a Jewish citizen living in Istanbul and I just wish that Drosnin and his friends try and find if there will be a next earthquake in Istanbul. Believing that the Old Testament is the book of all the truth about the earth and the humanbeings I still am hoping to have a merciful and affectionate G-d , not only to us the ''chosen people'' but to entire humanity. In future we can reveal that this is not the only planet that we have to live on too . Who knows? Perhaps another decoding will inform us about that too. However, the truth for the moment is that this is the only Earth we own and we belong to. If there is a method of decoding the future as well as our past then I wish , it is the hope for the well being of the whole of humanity. Taking this opportunity I'd like to congratulate Mr. M. Drosnin and all the scientists who have labored with their computers to find out some of those immense realities. This maybe a tool for preventing the on coming calamities and a new code for the achievement of a brotherly, clean and decent world.

Summary: If nothing else, it proves there is a God, and he knows all.
Review: I consider this discovery one of the most amazing things in our lifetime. The code was found in the Torah a book over 5,000 years old. Everyone has a copy of the Torah or has access to it. It is a book that has been painstakingly reproduced over the centuries unblemished. It is impossible to fake a code in it without changing something in it, and that would be noticed. The only one who could set up such a code to predict the future 5,ooo years in advance is obviously and only God. The code itself is much the same as the childrens word puzzles or the word puzzles you see in the newspapers known as cryptograms, where you find words hidden in a group of jumbled letters. What's incredable is that the words form sentences with meaning from a coherent story or text. The odds at being able to predict the future centuries in advance and correctly are billions to one. The mathematicians who scoff at this say that things do happen by mere chance even at those odds, and yet everything they do is based on that same principle. That is what got us to the moon and planets. Maybe there is a God, maybe there isn't, but many, especially in science work awfully hard not to believe. Their lives a simply based on fact and not on faith.

Summary: Disappointing, poorly reasoned, sensationalism
Review: If you are curious about the 'Bible code', please don't waste your time or money on this book. It fails (in my opinion) to ever make any sort of reasoned case for the code, and never (imho) gives any sort of explanation of how the code is supposed to work that would allow anyone to critically evaluate the idea.

I'd give it zero stars, or less, if I could.

Summary: Drosnan is either a liar or poor researcher, many problems
Review: Either Mr. Drosnan is an outright liar, or is a very poor researcher. I tend toward the former. In his book he states that every hebrew copy of the old testament is letter for letter identical, which is completely fallacious. Even the preface of the text he uses discusses this problem. Without a letter for letter perfection of the the text the mathematical logic doesn't work. More than one expert has questioned Drosnan's translation of Hebrew, which is poor at best. On top of this, the experts he cites (including Rips himself) have published retractions saying that they do not support Drosnan's claims. Yes, there seems to be evidence of something there. The mathematics of it do definitely hint at something. But to take it as far as Drosnan has is completely ludicrous. As for Christian believers, this book is more harmful than helpful. It is a book that proports to explain the true nature of the scriptures when written by someone who is not a believer. I for one do not except this work.

Summary: trying to believe what is right
Review: I believe in God but do I believe in the bible code? If 1 person can prove to me that this code does exist and I can find it for myself then I will believe if no one can prove it then I will not believe.

Summary: Absolute fluff
Review: Drosnin fervently believes in the "Mathematical improbability" of the Bible code; in fact he uses the eccentricities of the Hebrew language to his advantage. The Hebrew language contains vowels only when punctuation is used; by eliminating punctuation and therefore all vowels, Drosnin increases his chances of finding random words. Also, there are many times in Hebrew where words can be shortened or letters ommitted. Absolute fluff and a waste of time!

Summary: One of the most thought inspiring books ever.
Review: I was so skeptical befor I read "The Bible Code". I didn't believe in god and I believed that people could chose their own destinies. The fact of the matter is, a higher being exists; moreover, this being encoded the most popular book on earth with prophetic text. Chills run up my spine and goosebumps cover by body every time I think about this book. It was simply the most thought provoking book I've ever read.

Summary: A Nice Little Math Trick
Review: Any validity which Drosnin seems to have is nothing but math tricks. The book is 200 pages of pure, no nonsense fluff. The only reason Drosnin can get dates for the events in the book is because Hebrew uses letters to also stand for numerals - an advantage English does not have. And yet other important world events for found in "Moby Dick" using the same (DLS) method. But I'm sure alot of folks will be terrified and everybody will make lots of money on this garbage. Congradulations.

Summary: Strong Delusions
Review: And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thesslonians 2:10-12
