Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: EXCELLENT & BIBLICAL Review: This is the most biblical book out there on marital submission. Those who have disagreed with the book are usually those who are struggling with submission in the first place. There is absolutely nothing that is taken out of context. The book is extremely biblical and is very upfront and honest about the role God has called a wife to play. Both my husband and I study the Bible inside and out VERY thoroughly and there is not one thing in this book that is contrary to biblical teachings. There are well known theologians who agree as well. Like I said, the only people who have disagreed with the contents of this book are typically the ones out of line in God's command for submission.

Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Don't Buy This Book! Review: This is a book filled with the author's very strong personal opinions about marriage. It's filled with rules that will leave you depressed and under a cloud of condemnation. Well, I have good news! Galatians 5:1 says,"It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery." It isn't Biblical to think we are made right with God by what we do or don't do (The Law) instead of by grace. (Read Galatians) If you are in the Word and in prayer, and are making it your life's goal to glorify God in all you do, trust the Holy Spirit to gently let you know when you need to change and become more Christ-like. If you want a good book about marriage and family, buy a copy of the book, Your Home A Place of Grace, by author Susan Hunt. That book is challenging, yet freeing at the same time.

Here is advice for women without the distractive noise of philosophy, opinions or world views coroding the landscape. This book is one of many that will embellish the Christian life of women I would also recommend "THE PRAYER OF HANNAH" by Kenn Gividen as well as works by Beth Moore.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Resource! Review: This book is very encouraging. It addresses some very serious and specific issues that I haven't seen dealt with so directly in other christian reading. There are charts in the back that will be worth revisiting, as we all need a nudge back onto the right track now and then. Great stuff! This book makes a great gift for any wife or wife to be.

It has been a tremendous help and eye opener in my struggle to become the wife God intended me to be. It gives biblical steps for correction when wives are abused, and teaches wives how to act in a way pleasing to God even though it is not pleasing to the world. I would recommend this book to anyone. The Bible references contained with in are in context and can and should be further studied by all readers. As all teachings should be checked out for ourselves. It is a wonderful resource and Mrs. Peace is a wonderful example for us all. Blessings..........

I recently started reading books on a woman's role in the Christian life - especially marriage. I was in tears throughout the entire book because of the poor women who read this book deserve something better. Most women probably don't read the Bible while they are reading this book, so they probably don't realize that the author is ripping passages out of context. One example: she believes that it is easier for women to sin than men by quoting a passage about Eve being deceived and Adam not. She instructs women to do everything their husbands say, even in questionable circumstances. The book puts husbands at such a lofty level - way above friendship and companionship. I am afraid that women will think that they will have to "worship" him and walk on eggshells around him. The book says that women will have to have sex with their husbands whenever (and however) he wants to whether I want to or not, and to just "grin and bear it" or, as the author puts it, "suffer for righteousness sake". This book, I sincerely believe, elevates husbands too high - and makes him an idol. This book does NOT leave the reader with the idea that marriage is a partnership. It left the impression that the worth of a woman is somewhere in-between a child and a slave. Wives must ask permission to do *anything* (including how to dress and wear their hair) and must do *everything* a husband says unless the Bible specifically says not to. Even in questionable situations - because "the husband always knows best". If this is what marriage is supposed to be (a union between a master and a slave), I want no part in it. I want my marriage to be a union between friends (who aren't afraid to speak differing opinions) and equals before God. Also, I don't like to be accused of being a "weak Christian" or in "rebellion" whenever I disagree with the author.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Good For All Christian Wives - Very Convicting Review: I was given this book by my mother-in-law when I first met my husband. Peace writes very well and simple. She touches on very tender subjects. She talks about a wife's relationship with Christ, her role as a woman and wife, her duty to submit and what that means and what it looks like, the wife's duty to her husband in the bedroom, and more. There was one chapter that made me very angry when I first read it. It was about a wife allowing her family to become an idol. I had done this very thing and didn't realize it. When I first read it, I was convicted and became angry with her and vowed never to read the book again. Finally, God dealt with me and I repented. Now the chapter makes so much more sense. :) It's definitely not a book for a new Christian or someone who doesn't want to be convicted. She doesn't hold back. At times, she may make you very angry, but not because she is wrong, it is because she is right and it convicts you. Who likes to confront their sin? So for those who are really striving to know what God wants from them as a wife, this is a wonderful book, easy to read, based firmly on the Scriptures, with many Scripture references, many pictures and charts, and very good subjects. It's definitely a good book to read alone or read as a study in a women's group. Also a perfect gift for a young girl who is considering marriage in the near future.
